  1. I like the sound of alot of draft picks. Lets win this division first guys!! I haven't been this excited about a trade DURING the sox season in a long time!
  2. I would rather have DJ on the team than Rios.
  3. I like Alomar up until now. He has to play better reunited with Sandy doesn't he!?!?! And this adds a HUGE boost to our defense and smart baserunning/situational hitting. He can do ALL these things. Also maybe Jimenez can learn a thing or two from Robbie. If anyone hasn't noticed, they have almost the same batting stance and very similar offensive numbers this year.
  4. We didn't trade COTTS!!!!! I am happy.
  5. Isringhausen is back. Bo Hart is hitting everything in sight. Watch out for those Cards Cub fans.
  6. Ask the few knowledgable Cubs fans if they would rather have Sosa or Pujols in their lineup. I guarantee you they will answer Pujols. Pujols absolutely destroys Cubs pitching along with the rest of the National League.
  7. just go to www.mlb.com Vote alot of times for Pujols and Sheffield because they are the ones contending with Shamme for those spots. Bonds is a shoe-in.
  8. 28 Days Later might have been good. I wouldn't go so far as "great". Especially because they promoted it as a horror flick and people dressed as zombies got free tickets. Boy must they have felt stupid after the movie.
  9. Cubs @ Phillies, bottom 7. Cubs are clinging to a 3-2 lead against the offense-anemic Phillies and Jim Thome comes to the plate with a man on. Needless to say, it's nice to see him doing it against someone besides us practically every time. In addition, I think its even funnier cuz the Cubs came "close" to signing him this offseason too. Something more to smile about as the Sox paste the Twins and the Royals scuffle against Cleveland. Maybe I should just add this to the f*** Yeah Thread.
  10. Wow really, I thought Joe Dirt had some funny jokes just really horrible acting. I also thought Spy Hard with Leslie Nielsen was funnier than 0%.
  11. Cleveland scores 2 in the first of game 2 so far. Lets hope they dont get rained out and can finish their sweep.
  12. AHHH I hate you WCIU. Gamecast cannot show the beauty that is 8 runs off of Cy Mays.
  13. Lets just pray Loaiza's arm can last a little longer than Cal Eldred's did in 2000.
  14. Didn't Maggs once say he wants to retire at a fairly young age? I remember him saying something like that once.
  15. Sorry Guys I forgot the tiebreaker. TIEBREAKER: Total number of runs scored in the series for both teams.
  16. 13.1 IP 2 ER 7 H 1 BB 7 SO After a rough April and a HORRIBLE month of May, Rick White has finally got his fat, white act together. He is my P2C for the 2nd half of 2003 and I think he will make KW look smarter every day that goes by.
  17. Just Hang in there Hurt, and remember your high point totals will help you at the end too as long as you can win a couple.
  18. The interleague schedule is over and the Sox have done themselves pretty well. They also threw a nice series win at the Twinkie Dome in there last week. Back to the old grind and Minnesota is back in town, here are the questions: 1) Who will win the series (CHW/MIN) (2 points)? 2) Will Rick White allow an earned run (Y/N) (2 points)? 3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 4) Who will lead the Sox in runs scored (4 points)? 5) How many Sox players will have at least 4 hits in the series (5 points)? 6) How many strikeouts will Mark Buehrle have (5 points)? 7) How many bases will the Twins steal (4 points)? 8) Will any of the games be decided by one run (Y/N) (2 points)? 9) Who will have more hits, Torii Hunter or Sox centerfielders (2 points)? 10) Will Danny Wright get his first win of the season (Y/N) (2 points)? *TIEBREAKER: Total number of runs scored in the series for both teams combined.
  19. I remember hating this guy so much when he played for Detroit. He always had that funky delivery and pitched inside and out and intimidated all of our hitters. He had a rough year last year but this year is even worse. Opponents are hitting .331 against him!?!? Also I just saw he gave up 3 runs in the first against the Mets. Does anyone think he is worth picking up if the Yanks were to eat a chunk of his salary? I mean the Yanks can afford it and also I think they are just dying to get rid of him. He dominated this division while he was on its worst team. Something tells me the pressure of NY is playing a part and he has just changed his approach against all hitters.
  20. Sox win another series 2 out of 3. 3 in a row since the inception of the YNOT contest here on Soxtalk. Here are the answers: 1) Who will win the series (CHW/CHC) (2 points)? CHW 2) Will Glover make an appearance (Y/N) (2 points)? No 3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 4 4) Who will lead the Sox in total hits (4 points)? Carlos Lee 5) How many batters will Damaso Marte face (5 points)? 2 6) How many extra-base hits will Joe Crede have (5 points)? 0 7) How many games out of first will the Sox be after the series (4 points)? 4.5 8) Who will have more RBIs: Olivo or Lee (2 points)? Lee 9) Will Corky get to do the hop (regardless of where the ball goes) (Y/N) (2 points)? Yes 10) Will the Sox reach 10 hits in any one game (Y/N) (2 points)? Yes Tiebreaker: How many pitches will Colon throw? 98 THE WINNER: YASNY 17 (-2) (1 win, 0 losses) THE REST: TheBigHurtBEGOOD 12 (-2) Mathew &nbsp&nbsp12 (+13) whitesox247 12 (+15) abozichiu 10 (0) wsc425 &nbsp&nbsp10 (-14) theoldroman 10 (+18) (0 wins, 1 loss) cwsox &nbsp&nbsp10 (+22) Soxheads 8 (+4) (1 win, 0 losses) Texsox &nbsp&nbsp8 (+10) Winning Ugly 8 (+10) sideshowapu 8 (+15) (1 win, 1 loss) MartePartay 6 (+4) THE LOSER: southsider2k3 6 (+7) (0 wins, 1 loss) Congrats to YASNY on his first game and his first win all at once. Btw rafacosta, your entry was too late to be accepted so plz try again with the next series. Twins again starting tomorrow, questions up tonite.
  21. My question is why not start Tony at 3rd?
  22. Twins are rallying in the 9th against Milwaukee right now.
  23. 4 out of 6. The worst way to do it is sweep at Wrigley and lose 2 of 3 at home. The ok way is to do it the way we did and it is fine. The best way of course is lose 2 of 3 at Wrigley and sweep the series at home.
  24. For my money, there's nothing more beautiful to a baseball fan than watching Loaiza pitch out of a jam. Man on 2nd nobody out, man on 3rd 1 out it doesn't matter. He never gets rattled and puts the pitches where he wants them 100% of the time.
  25. LOL I don't think Cork jokes will EVER get old.
