I will say I don't really think there is good chemistry between DJ and Hawk. Half the time one of them makes a comment the other will just sit there silent.
-
I still think the Konerko picks are the worst.

The official "Fuck Detroit" thread
DonkeyKongerko replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Miguel might be tired? It seems like the more he slumps, the more playing time he gets. I know Sandy can't play much and all but he should be in there a little more than he is. -
My birthday is in October Happy bday to you for now

Fake weather sux. Who really wants it to be 70 degrees every day with no humidity and no natural light. Come on now this is a joke right?

How to vote 50 times a second for Thomas!!!!
DonkeyKongerko replied to Loaiza21's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The cheat method isn't working anymore. I don't think you should take the "Vote Accepted" screen as proof it is working. Once in a while I mistype the validation key and hit submit before I can fix it. The "Vote Accepted" screen still comes up even though I am pretty sure they reject the vote. I think we should all go back to voting the honest way, it's just too risky otherwise. I just voted about 350 times the right way and will do some more later this evening. -
We need a fair representation. I think there are more BoSox fans online than White Sox fans. What we need is an electoral system or something or be judged by per capita votes. I know we would win that way

Ok, a few Cub fans mentioned to me how we lost a series to Detroit back when Cubs/Sox was going on. Of course they really don't talk about it anymore because they lose to pretty much everybody. I still remember the last series how we lost 2 and barely won the third. How about the Sox show some life - on the road. Here are the questions: 1) Who will win the series (CHW/DET) (2 points)? 2) Will Jon Garland give up a homerun (Y/N) (2 points)? 3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 4) Which Sox infielder will have the most hits (4 points)? 5) How many walks will Frank have in the series (5 points)? 6) What will Loaiza's ERA be after the series (I will give 0.1 either way) (5 points)? 7) How many saves will the Sox have (4 points)? 8) Will Frank Thomas make the All Star Team (Y/N) (2 points)? 9) Will Carl Everett have at least 5 hits in the series (Y/N) (2 points)? 10) Will Jeremy Bonderman have 14 losses after this series (Y/N) (2 points)? TIEBREAKER: How many runners will the Sox strand as a team for the series?

Torn ACLs can ruin careers sometimes. This is not really funny at all for the young superstar.
-
Whoops now i see the other thread...
-
Wow, I mean I like when the Cubs suck but not like this. Cory was on his way to a great season and finally establishing himself as a premier centerfielder in this league and Bam, torn ACL out for season. I heard over the radio when he got injured and they all said it looked very minor like a 2-4 week sprained knee. Frankly, I don't think the Cubs will be able to recover from this.
-
I wouldn't go so far as tearing. Maybe peeling
-
Now we will see who is the real "tub of goo"

Matt Ginter is the only guy I wanna see back up.

Everett was selected by the players.

For those of you who like fun facts: The last time a White Sox pitcher started the All Star Game was 1959. I shouldn't have to tell you it was also the last time the Sox did something else.

Also another thing, if Varitek made the reserve list instead of Ramon Hernandez I don't think this 32nd man thing would even be close. Frank would have been the hands down favorite because all the BoSox fans would be voting for someone other than Giambi meaning Frank would get a ton more votes.

Frank Thomas Preliminary Poll? http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation...ng?event_id=308 This page on ESPN has a poll including who people think should be the AL and NL 32nd man. Right now Frank is tied with Varitek with 28% of this vote with Giambi next at 23%. I don't know how scientific one would consider this poll but it could be a sign that Frank has a good shot with the hometown fans pushing for his nomination. If Frank doesn't win this vote, I don't think it will bother him much. But if he does win the vote, it will be a huge boost to his confidence I think making him feel like he has earned back some lost respect of fans around the country. This at the same time stock in Sosa has plummetted to new lows with him not making the squad and not getting a single vote in the player ballotting.

Well thanks to the Sox, the Devil Rays were able to get 2 of 3 as part of a 3 game winning streak. At least the Sox bats awoke in the final game reminding us that they hadn't forgotten how to hit. Alomar and Everett both put up some impressive numbers in this series. Here are the answers: 1) Who will win the series (CHW/TB) (2 points)? TB 2) Will Paul Konerko have an extra base hit (Y/N) (2 points)? No 3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 2 4) Who will lead the Sox in batting average (min. 4 ABs) (4 points)? Sandy Alomar 5) How many double plays will the Sox turn (5 points)? 2 6) How many times will Carlos Lee get on base (5 points)? 2 7) Which Sox reliever will have the most strikeouts (4 points)? Damaso Marte 8) Who will throw the most pitches, Colon, Loaiza, or Garland (2 points)? Bartolo Colon 9) Who will have an RBI, Carl Everett, Roberto Alomar, or both (2 points)? Both 10) Will Rocco Baldelli hit safely in all three games (Y/N) (2 points)? Yes TIEBREAKER: How many total bases will the Sox have in the series? 57 No one got questions 4, 5 or 6 right. I think I made them too hard. Here are the results: THE WINNER: MartePartay 12 (-28) (1 W, 0 L) THE REST: sideshowapu 10 (+7) (1 W , 1 L) Texsox 10 (+9) Heather Lee 10 (+21) Soxheads 8 (+3) (1 W, 0 L) Mathew 8 (-3) (0 W, 1 L) abozichiu 8 (-3) TheBigHurtBEGOOD 8 (+7) YASNY 8 (-10) southsider2k3 6 (+8) (0 W, 1 L) CubsSuck1 4 (-2) theoldroman 4 (+4) (0 W, 1 L) THE LOSER: cwsox 4 (+12) (0 W, 1 L)

I just don't see Lowell getting traded. He is to much of a fan faverite down in South Florida. And if they trade him they might as well contract themselves because no FANs are going to come. Hey Crede is becoming a fan favorite in Chicago. He's got Crede's Crew now. Imagine if he actually hit like he did last season. Ohh mama
