  1. This was true for me too, up until maybe the last 5 or 6 weeks.
  2. If you are looking for an outfielder, try Cincinnatti. Jose Guillen is looking to be traded, or maybe we could steal Willy Mo Pena since they are starved for pitching.
  3. Bernie Mac is my personal hero for saying "Root, root root for the White SOX" at Wrigley Field when he was the guest singer.
  4. I almost shat myself when Jose threw that slider over towards 1st base.
  5. Try not to watch the out-of-town scoreboard too much. It could get depressing
  6. Walker worked with Crede in AAA recently then right? This can't be a bad thing for these guys. In 2000 we won because our guys were agressive at the plate. I think this team might be trying too hard to work deep counts sometimes and they don't swing at the fat pitches they get early in the count because they don't have the confidence to do so. This is the opposite of what the Cubs have done with guys like Grudzielanek, Gonzalez, and Patterson. These guys have been swinging at first and second pitches alot this year. I'm not saying using this strategy when you are trying to advance runners but our guys have been making far too many outs with the bases empty. This is the formula for corpseball: too many 1-2-3 innings.
  7. I remember seeing this online before, I think it was on Ebay. Maybe this thing is just being bought and sold by people who are trying to make some quick cash.
  8. Actually Tim just said Manuel's job is "in jeopardy". I don't think he was speaking of rumors of his firing.
  9. If a team is gonna count on its offense to win them some ballgames, they better get a damn hitting coach! Today's game is winnable if you score 3 runs off Joe frickin Mays
  10. It's just hard to get excited in general when you watch too many White Sox games.
  11. This sorta reminds me of how a trip to Anaheim started off last year...please let these guys turn it around tomorrow
  12. Win the battle, lose the war. Hypothetically lets say we were sitting on 81 wins for the year and are out of contention. Suppose KW has put job on the line earlier that year and says "this team will finish above .500 or I will hand in my resignation." Who are you rooting for on that day?
  13. Hey we swept a series against a major league team. Any team but Detroit qualifies as one of these.
  14. And Don Cooper in the dugout I saw him give Colon a huge pat on the back.
  15. Speaking of Coop, I'm really liking this guy. Yesterday when Jose got that big hit to put us on top he was the first guy on the steps high fiving all the guys. I love the way he interviews too. I hope we keep this guy around for a long time.
  16. Frank was born to hit...or play tight end.
  17. I was at that game too. By the time I got to my seat it was 2 or 3-0 and then Nick Johnson unloaded on him. That wasn't a great experience.
  18. Are you talking about the one where they little girls sings O-E-O and Jose, Jose, Jose Jose? Cuz yeah that one is pretty sad.
  19. Did anybody else notice the wicked tail on Danny's fastballs? Oooh I love to see that.
  20. Boy if Mark is trying to impress the St. Louis scouts he sure is going about it in a weird way.
  21. If we had never heard anything from Nevin and co. about D'Ang, I seriously don't think we would be scrutinizing his effort on each and every play. People here give him a hard time for not hustling every play but I think he is doing his best and it's just really hard for him to erase his past. We are all looking for signs of the San Diego D'Angelo Jimenez when I think we should worry about our other starters that aren't hitting .300 and aren't getting on base at all.
  22. I couldn't have said it better myself.
