  1. I’m all about antonacci too. I think he’s one of those guys who has the preternatural ability to maximize his tools. Kinda like meidroth, his ability to hit for decent power, get on base and swipe bags exceeds his natural gifts. Excited to see how he progresses.
  2. I like your list but think I’m probably higher on McDougal who has been lights out this year as well as Antonacci who in my mind is knocking on top 10 atatus although not there yet.
  3. Both of Montgomery’s HR’s were absolutely smoked, would love to know the EV. They would be homers in any major league park.
  4. He has shown A LOT of tools this year so far. I have no idea what he looks like in the field but he’s shown good power, base running, plate discipline, and hitting ability. He has exceeded any expectations I had of him coming into the season.
  5. Galanie rakes. Listed as a 3B but no reps there this year. Must be 1B/DH type.
  6. They’re always tinkering at those levels. Probably adding a 3rd pitch, a change up I’d guess to go with his FB/SL combo that is already elite.
  7. The draft room discussion when Getz told the scouts he was drafting Pinto.

  9. I love watching teams made up of young scrappy players who will literally do anything to get a hit or make a catch. The players just scraping to stick in the bigs, I feel like their passion comes through in a different way than the Jack Parkmans of the world. Its extra fun to see one of those players break out and make it.
  10. Better than last year where there was zero feasting, just pure famine.
  11. Anytime you have a surgery you are in danger of altering the mechanics/geometry of the joint and thus the ligaments holding it together. It’s likely the surgery and subsequent inflammation etc… changed the way his elbow worked causing additional stress on the UCL. Just my thoughts on the matter. Doesn’t really surprise me.
  12. With those 3 at the top then Thorpe and one of Iriarte, Ky Bush, or Burke as the 4 and 5 starters that could be a damn formidable rotation.

  15. Every sport drafts players based on how good they will be down the road. Very few athletes come out of college (or HS obviously) a finished product. Some are high floor/low ceiling and vice versa. They’re all about figuring out how good this 19-21 year old will be when they’re 27-28 and in their prime. My complaint about the mlb draft is the crazy way teams pick people to sign them underslot/overslot then draft college seniors 5 rounds in a row and pay them $10k so they can draft a HS kid in round 17 and pay him $1mil etc…. It is just such an ass backwards way of going about business. Why not just have hard slot values and pick whomever you think best fits the value of that slot? The way it’s done now is so over the top convoluted it’s insane to me. Just my two cents
  16. The MLB draft system is crazy to me. NFL/NBA drafts are so much more straight forward i.e. teams pick whomever they think is the best player for them and move on. I get that in the MLB they can draft HS players and this changes the algebra a bit but I still think that the MLB could simplify the system dramatically by implementing an actual slot system instead of the suggested slot system they use now. I feel like MLB keeps their outdated and overly convoluted draft system simply because “that’s how we’ve always done it”.
  17. Got squeezed by the ump on what should’ve been strike 3 on leadoff batter in the 4th. Ends up singling and scoring for the only ER
  18. Another day, another walk for Zavala whose OPS is now almost .700. That’s impressive for a guy with a BABIP in the low .200’s. I expect him to have a strong 2nd half.
  19. Excellent pull. 10/10
  20. Burger is not exactly lighting the world on fire this year so I doubt he’s that worried about the return on that trade looking bad.
  21. That’s a surprise with his k rate hovering around 50%. Maybe he was working on something specific???
  22. He’s had some bad bibp luck this year. I would expect some it to average out eventually
  23. Riley Gowens, a throw in from the Bummer trade, is performing very well at high-a this so far. Sounds like he has a plus, low to mid 90’s FB with lots of movement and quality secondary pitches. Even if he end up a reliever to maximize his FB that should be considered a win for us. Someone to watch. I expect him to move up to AA sooner than later
  24. His K rate is about 50%. Maybe pump the brakes on that promotion for a bit.
