  1. From my conversation with Brett Ballantini -
  2. Well, Boras did recently say he has talked to Crede na Joe is ready to go in 2011 and wants to play. He is suppose to be healthy too. With that said we already have a Joe Crede on the team and his name is Brent Morel, just whole lotta younger!
  3. Honestly I don't know how he can reject that kind of offer. He rejected a lot of money, because he wanted more. Most of all he rejected a greater chance to WIN. Maybe his elbow isn't what it used to be?
  4. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 01:58 PM) werent the cubs supposably in on agone? does this mean they have a chance of getting him now? If Padres are still willing to trade him, he is up for grabs.
  5. Is there a darkhorse on Cliff Lee? Try these five teams! http://bit.ly/gtFOCa #Angels #Phillies #Reds #Tigers #WhiteSox #MLB - Ken Rosenthal
  6. Eh, put me in the group that likes discussing trades when they happen instead of playing Fantasy GM. If there is one thing I think will happen at the meetings... Paulie will re-sign with the White Sox. Kenny and Craig Landis are to meet tomorrow.
  7. Berkman got $8 mil from #cardinals. he'll play left field, hear theyre moving holliday to right field - Jon Heyman
  8. Posted this in MLB-Catch-ALL but don't feel like starting another thread. Cardinals just signed Lance Berkman! OF/1B but more OF clearly. Does this make Rasmus available?
  9. Cardinals just signed Lance Berkman, call him OF/1B type. Interesting.
  10. Many reports out there saying Padres will wait with Bell till July, to get more, and another reason for him not being traded "not wanting to upest the fanbase even more".
  11. Kenny said if Paulie doesn't work out they will try to find a 1B, read Derek Lee is probably the backup plan. Sox don't wanna go into the season with Dunn being their main first baseman.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 12:18 AM) $13 million a year? Wow. So anybody know where that would put the payroll? At $105M and that's as of NOW. Before, Danks, Quentin, etc. I think we're looking at $120M unless we see a trade of some sort.
  13. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 05:06 PM) If they're deferring cash til next year, it means that Buehrle may be going bye-bye after this season. I was just saying that to my friend over on facebook chat. All signs point this way.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) This. This is glorious news. Love the sig. I wonder who will be SoxTalk's whipping boy next year? Has to be Teahen.
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 03:39 PM) Another million or so is pretty immaterial in the grand scheme of things. Just to be clear from earlier Tweet, White Sox saved $2 million off the $5.5 million owed to Linebrink in the trade. So you can do the math - Scott Merkin
  16. Merkin said the $2M saved on Linebrink pays for AJ so they could be getting $3.5M
  17. Dunn's contract: 12/14/15/15 $$$$. Dunn will receive $12 million, $14 million, $15 million and $15 million as his contractual breakdown. - Scott Merkin
  18. I've been gone most of the day, two quick questions: 1. Does anyone have a link for a video from the press conference if one available? 2. Do we know yet the exact structure on both AJ's and Dunn's contracts?
  19. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 06:21 AM) Yesterday on ESPN radio Buster Olney said he expects the Sox to go after Heath Bell for the bullpen. Obviously just his opinion, but he said if the Padres re-sign Hoffman, Bell would be expendable. I thought I heard that Hoffman may retire though. Hmmm Two things, now both Putz and Konerko said one of the things that will matter to them this offseason is playing for a competitor, with the two moves made yesterday Kenny has guaranteed just that. Supposedly there is a $5m offer out for Putz. If Konerko comes back, we have a huge trading chip in Dayan Viciedo, can he get us Bell?
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) I really can't get over that SOA finale. It's so strange to have a season end on a completely good note (save of course the club having a year + prison sentence, of course)... It should be interesting to see the Sons with tons of gun cash rolling in + Mayor Hale cracking down with his state cops. Don't forget to mention that now Tara knows exactly what happened to John Teller.
