  1. QUOTE (kev211 @ Aug 26, 2012 -> 07:20 PM) I don't think I've seen a single episode of the Batter's Box that was White Sox related. I've only ever seen Cubs ones. Do White Sox ones even exist? They have an even number of episodes for each team. IRRC, they do a bracket, one side Sox, one side Cubs, and then they match in the finals. If you go to CSNchicago.com you can watch episodes (they break it in to 3 parts, but it's the whole show essentially). I actually did pretty well (relative to the contestants, I still got almost half of the questions wrong).
  2. QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 26, 2012 -> 06:25 PM) Interesting thing about Molina through 5 IP. He's got 9 groundouts to 1 flyout. That's unlike him. He ended with 13 groundouts to 2 flyouts. That's awesome.
  3. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 26, 2012 -> 06:30 PM) Steve Stone's humor is underrated. Dude's funny. Very dry humor, and I love it.
  4. Oh by the way, I am listening to the Mariner's radio broadcast. They went on about how the Sox pretty much have a murderer's row and everyone on this team can take anyone deep. Went on about as long as Flowers doesn't blast one out, the rain could very well end this in favor or the Mariners. LOL. Made it so sweet to hear them call his HR.
  5. Wow. I've never laughed so hard while watching Gameday. I kept thinking "Omg, that'd be hilarious if Flowers bombed one out", and then it appeared on my screen. WOAH.
  6. What's the general philosophy when it come to stealing bases in heavy rain? Not advised because the dirt is wet and hard to gain traction, or good risk to take because the ball being thrown to 2nd may be slippery?
  7. Linza dominant. 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K. Snodgress domiant. 6 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K Molina nice start so far. 4 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
  8. QUOTE (kev211 @ Aug 26, 2012 -> 04:01 PM) There are ways around the blackout. Like what? I've tried a proxy, but it never loads the game.
  9. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 26, 2012 -> 03:19 PM) Not sure where you go to school (blackout restrictinos) but they are offering mlb.tv for $10 rest of the season. *hint hint, my avatar, hint hint* Heh, but no, I've already found out I am blackout restricted, even 200+ miles away. I use my friend's mlb.tv subscription, but not for Sox games.
  10. Today is going to be a lazy college day of order pizza, playing counter strike, and following the Sox Gameday.
  11. That bunt down the line by T-Flow got my dick hard. Wait...what?
  12. 2/3 for Walker. Trying to salvage a rough August. 2/4 for Sanchez. Kevin Vance has been tearing it up since his promotion. 23 K to 2 BB with a 1.08 ERA in 16 innings since his promotion. Now has 93 K to 30 BB in 96 IP. I'll take that from the 22-year-old.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 25, 2012 -> 05:28 PM) Watch AGon and Beckett light up the NL, the Dodgers prospects flop, whoever the Red Sox sign ends up sucking, etc. That would be glorious.
  14. My buddy will be behind the Sox dugout with a sign that says "What's up to my Ball State Crew!!" or something close, and then on the reverse side "Rayna, will you marry me?", which is a joke about one of my roommates, Rayna, but he figured it will get him on TV, and then he'll flip the sign. Haha.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 11:56 PM) Mike (NJ) [via mobile] Keith, what are your thoughts on Chris Sale? Klaw (1:25 PM) I ranked him 47th. The White Sox took him 13th. You do the math. Maybe there's a reason Keith Law is at ESPN and not making actual decisions. I'n my current drunken stupor, I read "You do the meth", and it seemed very fitting. Then i relaiezxed my error. Whoops.
  16. Absolutely insane. How much salary would the Dodgers be adding on just for 2013 alone? Like almost $60M?
  17. Honestly, let's worry about this thread at the end of October, after we've won the Series.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 03:26 PM) IIRC those runs all came in one outing. They did. I am pretty sure in only ONE appearance for the Sox has he been charged with an Earned Run, and it was like 4 of them at once, against the Royals. One blip, and his ERA jumped a ton.
  19. Yes, this has been well-known since we acquired him, and we've used him perfectly, IMO. He finished 29 games when we acquired him. His clause vests at 45 games finished. He currently sits at 36 games finished. That means in the 1 month he has been on the Sox, he has finished 7 of the 15 games he can finish without his contract vesting. Which means in the remaining 1 month of the season, Robin can use up his other 8 finishes. That's pretty damn good allotment so far. He can finish 44 at no extra cost, so you may as well use those considering he has been very good with this team. He's arguably our been out best reliever since we acquired him (I could be wrong, just seems like it).
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 03:04 PM) ESPN Radio's Jim Bowden reports the Red Sox have no intention of trading Adrian Gonzalez to the Dodgers after he was claimed on waivers. Jim Bowden also thinks this is a fair deal...... JIM BOWDEN ‏@JimBowdenESPNxm A package of Zach Lee, Allen Webster and James Loney probably gets Adrian Gonzalez doesn't it?
