  1. Hector Gomez liked the reply, as he continues to believe the 8 yr/$250M offer he reported.
  2. And then whoever this guy is (1500+ followers) tweeted this minutes after Bob's tweet barrage. He's followed by both Bob and AG Sports Network....
  3. To add to this... he's tweeted more... -- He retweeted a Philly writer who tweeted a mock line-up with Harper in it. -- He tweeted "It's down to two teams" with a gif of Harper doing "Shhhh" sign. -- He retweeted Jesse Rogers' quote from Maddon saying Harper is "not going to happen" -- He tweeted "It's on now #BryceSweepstakes" with Kevin Hart gif of "It's about to go down" -- He tweeted to someone who asked if they need to stay up tonight he said "Go to sleep. Rest up for tomorrow." So that's something to maybe monitor tomorrow. Interestingly, he liked a tweet earlier today where someone said the Yankees are lying in the weeds on Harper, and then he also retweeted a Ken Davidoff article from earlier today that said Harper and Yankees were a perfect match. I would be shocked if he's referring to the Yankees, and those two Yankees related things he liked/retweeted were from earlier today. The 7 things above were all just now.
  4. I know people have strong opionions about Incarcerated Bob. I have no idea who the guy is other than having heard his name on the radio before and that he has 122K followers, including me right now in case he has any scoops. Well anyway, he just randomly tweeted these things.... IB BARKSDALE ? ?‏ @incarceratedbob 10m10 minutes ago More Bryce Harper time IB BARKSDALE ? ?‏ @incarceratedbob 10m10 minutes ago More It’s almost time @Bharper3407 The second one includes a gif of Rick Flair yelling.
  5. The girlfriend and I, and my best friend and his wife are going to take a vacation to Boston at the end of May. He is going to be there for a wedding, I will be there just because we've always wanted to see a game in Fenway. Our current plan is to get an AirBNB just south of Boston in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood. It's like a couple blocks from the Sam Adams brewery. Does anyone have any opinions on that area? Or places to go or things to see or places to eat? My girl and I are the more adventurous type. My buddy and his wife would rather find a bar and drink all day. We will have a rental car, they are going to Uber around, so it may not even be things for groups of 4.
  6. I don't know how to word this, but how *severe?* is your autism? I know it can vary wildly, but the reason I ask is because would anyone even know if they met you? If not, then I wouldn't bother saying anything to her until maybe some point at the end of the 1st date. Because that might scare someone off if they overshoot the degree in which is affects you. And if you tell them at the end of the date, but the date went great, then they are less likely to care, and are likely to become more understanding of the variances in autism. The best example I can think of of someone who has autism that you would never know is the comedian Jim Jeffries. He didn't find out he even had it until he was like 40. On the other hand, one of my good friend's growing up has a brother who has it, and he never aged intellectually past a 6 year old. Obviously I don't have to tell you about autism, but just pointing out that if you tell someone you have autism, they may get wildly different ideas of what that could entail, and it could put them in a very weird position where even if they do take the date anyway, they will be weird about how to act. As far as the living at home thing, I would save that for the same conversation, because otherwise it's going to lead to a line of questioning where you either have to lie, or you have to say "I can't tell you right now" which is weird. And lastly, I wouldn't make too big of a deal out of it. They are either going to be cool with it, or they aren't. You can't really change them, and it's not worth it to try. You don't want someone that you have to talk them in to accepting you.
  7. Yeah, that's the most fitting guess.
  8. Is anyone else worried that when the Machado to the Sox news is announced, instead of 100% elation and excitement, part of it will just be relief and thinking "Fucking finally, now we can move on to the next target"? I hope Hahn gets a sweet deal in the end, but I feel a bit disappointed that this long drawn out and tedious process is sapping some of the energy and excitement I have for the signing. A month ago I would have lost my mind and texted everyone I know. Now, I will just breathe a big sigh of relief that I can stop wasting my entire day refreshing Twitter and worrying about the Phillies or Yankees swooping in. Anyone else?
  9. I'll say that Machado signs on Friday, the start of the Cubs convention, because humor.
  10. Well, they could be out because the Phillies have offered a deal that the Sox would never considering matching, not because they no longer want him.
  11. Shit, you beat me to it. Well done.
  12. I dunno, seems obtuse.
  13. Well I don't know about you, but I was only 16-17 years old during the 2007 baseball season, so thinking Jerry Owens was going to be a stud doesn't really surprise me for that age.
  14. For whatever reason, I remember where I was when Owens went 5 for his first 5 against the Twins in 2007. I was out with a big group and the game was on TV at the pizza place and I remember thinking this dude was going to be a god damn stud.
  15. Yeah, I think he was projected for somewhere in the late 1st RD. But he was also projected to be like a 2nd or 3rd RD pick in the NFL, not a Heisman winner and top 10 NFL pick.
  16. I just took a peak at good old Jerry's numbers. In 2007 he only played a little over half a season, and he stole 32 bases. Pretty impressive. And his career 16% K-rate would be considered elite now. Jerry was just ahead of his time.
  17. It's only 3:14 pm in Vegas.
  18. Just wait until Passan tweets out "The White Sox and Machado has agreed in principle to an 8 year deal" and then Nightengale fires back with "No deal has been reached yet". We will all lose our shit.
  19. Lol I know, I was being sarcastic because the dude sucks.
  20. Sweet. At least we get a Comp pick back for him after he denied our QO.
  21. Could you imagine the kick in the dick this would be?
  22. And your chances of the 2nd one leaving the next year might be higher.
  23. Let's just pretend the Sox get both of them. Would you stagger their opt-outs so that way the roster won't be completely stripped in 1 year, or do you line up their opt outs together so if they BOTH take their opt out, you suddenly have $70M or so to instantly spend on whoever the top young FA is that off-season? You basically promise yourself the ability to sign the best FA that offseason.
