  1. That's why I don't want to trade him, because no one is going to pay what the Sox need to help turn this thing around. They're better off hoping he rebounds this year.
  2. That was 5 years ago. Robert did it last year. Way more likely Robert bounces back than Moncada.
  3. 5 bWAR/4.9 fWAR in 2023. I'll take the "+" off if it makes you happy. If the Sox think Robert has no chance to get back to a 3+ WAR player, then they should trade him now. If they think Crochet was a 1 year wonder and is likely to get hurt again, or never make it as a SP long-term, then they should trade him now. If Robert turns it around and Crochet continues to be a top flight starter next year, then Getz should be fired immediately because he sold incredibly low on the only two good assets he has remaining. Jackson Holliday was TERRIBLE in 100+ PAs this year. He'll probably be fine, but that doubt is there now. If you trade your top two remaining assets for him and he's not a franchise player, then the rebuild is pushed back even further. That said, I would 100% trade Crochet for him. Robert is not enough right now, I agree there.
  4. I’m not sure this works even if he ends up a good player. Trading a top tier pitcher and a guy who has put up a 5+ WAR season and isn’t old for one guy is madness.
  5. Cease looking like the guy who frustrated us. Pulled after 3 1/3 at over 80 pitches.
  6. Exactly. If Holliday ends up bad or mediocre you end up with nothing. All your hopes are riding on him. Terrible trade.
  7. Mets have been something else this year.
  8. Eloy: "Hit the ball on the ground and use my speed to leg out infield hits"
  9. We all told Orioles fans to be careful assuming they were at the top of the AL in the offseason. I wonder how they feel now, after they won 10 less games than last year and got swept in the WC round by a team that lost 106 games last year.
  10. NOBLETIGER for the Orioles
  11. If they're really going to bring in quality hitting instruction, actually give these guys an offseason plan, and make sure they stick to it, then I'm fine keeping Vaughn for one more year. He was a consensus top 5 draft pick that year I believe, so it's worth giving him a real shot with proper help after they epically bungled his growth plan. If they're not going to do these things, and just count on him fixing himself, they might as well let him go. Also if they determine he's just ruined or a bust, then they might as well let him go. Either way, what a disappointment he's been and I don't particularly care if he stays.
  12. It's worth a shot, thanks to their idiot owner. Not sure if they'd have any use for Benintendi, though.
  13. Tigers escape with a win. Astros had runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out after scoring a run, but couldn't capitalize.
  14. Astros making a push in the 9th
  15. Skubal absolutely acing the Astros
  16. I wouldn't be happy about having to play the Astros in the postseason, even though they're not the juggernaut they were.
  17. I'm 100% down for becoming the Brewers of the midwest... wait...
  18. Wild game 1. Braves bullpen looked like ours. Can't wait for game 2.
  19. He got promoted and there's a NEW head of player dev! Exactly what you all wanted!
  20. He was really, really bad in ~450 PA from 2022-2024, so I was starting to think he was just not an MLB player and there was no "learning period" for him in the pros. I would love to be wrong.
  21. Vargas should probably DH, assuming he learns the "H" part.
  22. He sure has. .351/.372/.518 in 21 games. .378/.410/.649 over the last two weeks (11 games). I hope he figured something out and this isn't just a late season blip.
  23. Trying to think who this would be.
