  2. I can't wait til Sunday at 3. I'm already sick of rumors and reading into things. Just win games between now and then. Or don't.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 02:51 AM) Didn't see Breaking Bad tonight, but my parents said it was awful. Barely watchable. It was what I call a "set up" episode. It's setting the tone for what this season will be... Jesse fighting his demons. Will Walt get to Gus? Will they be able to get the car wash, or what will they do to launder their money? What will happen with Hank and Marie? It wasn't a memorable episode, but it's setting up the story lines for the next 11 episodes.
  5. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 11:59 AM) My concern with that scenario is we annoit a minor league player our set up man after seeing him for 2 games. Mnay were convinced Josh Field was the new Joe Crede too Fair enough, but I like Santiago's arm, and i'm ready to see what he can do the rest of the season, win or lose.
  6. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 11:52 AM) Remember, we do have 6 starting pitchers this year. And Thornton really hasn't been Thornton this year anyways. Once they moved Thornton back to setup, he pretty much has been himself. Still, with the remaining years on his contract, I'd dump that in the right deal and look to fill the lefty setup role in-house with Santiago. It's too bad Leesman hasn't developed into that role by now.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 11:20 AM) Because they think Rasmus is overhyped and they hate his attitude and other character concerns. Tony LaRussa can do that to some people, especially young players. Maybe a fresh start is what Rasmus needs.
  8. Viciedo has a sore thumb. I don't think he's part of any deal. Thornton and Jackson for Rasmus? Yes, I'd do that.
  9. No makeup date yet. Single game Sunday. Jackson vs Masterson
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 06:32 PM) think they'll get this one in? Could be a long one tonight. Both teams are short on off days in September, so I think they'll wait a long time tonight, or it will be a doubleheader tomorrow.
  11. At this point, moving Quentin wouldn't be as much about who we get back, but more about getting Viciedo's major league career going. And not having to deal with Quentin in arbitration after this season. If they can get a couple low-level prospects with upside, I think that would be fair for Quentin. Now if John Danks gets in play, I would want major league ready talent back. Or close to the majors.

  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 04:49 PM) Someone from this division is going to make a move at the deadline to push to 88. They're so bunched together at the top that a moderate sized move could be the difference easily. I'm thinking more about one game better than 2nd place, not the ultimate win total of the 1st place team.
  14. http://twitter.com/#!/nickcafardo/stat...879415992983552 Red Sox scouting Jackson and Quentin. That would be interesting to see a trade while the White Sox are playing them.
  15. Looks like they'll be dodging rain again tonight.
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) 88-74 good enough to win the central? Yes, and it could be much less if the Sox and Twins take care of the Tigers and Indians. If I had to put a number on it right now, I think 86 wins gets it done.
  17. Pierre LF Ramirez SS Konerko 1B Dunn DH Quentin RF Rios CF Pierzynski C Beckham 2B Morel 3B
  18. Amy Winehouse. Can't say I'm shocked. Should have gone to rehab.
  19. I'm digging Keenyn Walker getting his knocks, rookie ball or otherwise. So he's moving up next week to Kanny?
  20. Of course Mitchell goes out and has 4 hits tonight, including 2 doubles.
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) I am overwhelmed by the staggering profundity of your artfully crated retort. Yes, the guy coming off a terrible injury, and who by the way has started to hit quite well lately, and was already known to be raw on drafting him... is "awful". Thanks for adding to the discussion. He has played awful, and not up to the level of a 23rd overall pick, injury or not. Does he have time to get it together over the next 2 years? Yes, but he'll be 24-25 years old at that point, and probably won't be anything special. So we have to hope Keenyn Walker is the new OF/leadoff hope over the next few years.
  22. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 04:07 PM) some serious storm action -- late start to this one? Just looked at the radar myself...yeah, don't count on this one to start on time.
