I wonder how many major league pitching coaches have a weekly radio segment.
And if the deal is just ask him questions about pitching, that should come from Cooper before they even agree to do the segment.
Otherwise, any question about the team is fair game. He can either answer the question like a professional, or don't do the segment at all.
Bottom line--Don Cooper is a typical asshole New Yorker who just happens to be a good pitching coach for the team I root for.
He got real full of himself after 05.
I'm not saying he's not good at what he does. Clearly he has paid dividends as a pitching coach.
But it may be time for him to stay away from the microphones. If all he's doing is promoting his camps, then he's got to learn to not be such a dick.
QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 10:03 PM)
They might as well trade Danks...seems like the offense goes into complete crap down their pantleg mode every time he pitches. Blow the whole thing up for all I care. Pathetic.
I'm very surprised that it hasn't come up in trade rumors. If a team wants to spend a big price, they'll get the rest of this year, and next year. If the Yankees want to give us a couple pitching prosepcts and a catcher, I'd part with Johnny.
Brandon Inge DFA.
Just looking at his contract, he's owed about as much as Mark Teahen. It would be like if the Sox dumped Teahen now, which sounds pretty good to me.
Not sure I like the live coverage too much. One guy was thinking about a move for 10 minutes last night. A little excessive and not TV friendly.
I hope Lamb wins.
MLB Tonight interviewed two young pitchers today after good starts....
Gio Gonzalez (9-6, 2.33)--
7 innings, 4 hits, 0 runs, 2 bb, 8 k
Daniel Hudson (10-5, 3.56)--
9 innings, 5 hits, 1 run, 0 bb, 3 k
He also went 2-3, HR, 3 RBI
Happy with the wins, but just don't tease me.
Either hit the gas and win this division, or tank the next couple weeks to force some trades for the future.
