I'm thinking if they play their cards right, they can get the 8th or 9th pick next year.

Position Player to Pitch Tonight?
Rios should have to do it.

3 outs away from 6.5 out on August 3rd. Ouch.

Most frustrating season ever considering the expectations, and how more than adequate the pitching staff has been (not tonight). If changes aren't made beyond players, I'm out. And it better not be Tony La Russa. If they hire that piece of s***, I won't be back until Reinsdorf kicks it.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 07:56 PM) Yep. Addison Reed too, whenever he's ready. Viciedo obviously. Hector Santiago. On Viciedo, he was slumping before his injury, so I'd like him to stay down until he's mashing again and feeling good about himself. This team is out of it anyway. No need to put pressure on the kid now. If it means a September callup, that's ok.

Random thoughts-- Ozzie was an idiot to pitch to Cano, but who cares? Team sucks. The season ends 8 weeks from today. Kenny MUST resign eight weeks from tomorrow. He has to go. Let Ozzie go to Miami. Hire Rick Hahn, and let him hire his own manager and coaching staff. Besides Sale, Santos, and Konerko, make anyone fair game in the right deal. Dunn must lose 30 pounds in the offseason and work with the new hitting coach before spring training. And last but not least---Alex Rios CANNOT be on the 2012 White Sox. That bum must go at all costs. If it means picking up 30 of the 40 million due him over the next 3 years (what were you thinking Kenny?), then you have to do it. He's the epitome of the dead ass 2011 White Sox.

8/3 games
Is Ross Wilson legitimately in AA, or is he just holding a spot because of an injury?

54 glorified spring training games left... 8 weeks to go.

Are you in or out?
A Brewers/Rangers World Series would be ok with me. Anyone but the east teams.

The GREAT Daniel Hudson
Looks like Hudson is about to pitch his Diamondbacks into a first place tie by going into San Francisco and beating Tim Lincecum. 8 innings, 6 hits, 1 run, 1 bb, 5 k Got a hit and a walk too. Batting .326 this season.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 08:18 PM) honestly, do we get over .500 this year at any point? I'm starting to have my doubts (and no, that has nothing to do with this game). I seriously doubt it, and I really don't care at this point. Hopefully some kids get to play in September, and we can find out what we have a little bit.

Could be 5.5 tonight. Gotta wonder what would have happened at the deadline if Kenny knew they'd be this far back this quick.

8/2 games
Matt Moore- another good Rays prospect. 8th rounder.

I think they blew this one. Looks like the rain is weakening as it approaches. Would have been brief even if it rained a little.

Escobar fouled a ball off his leg, and left the game.

Dayan Viciedo Watch
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 01:45 PM) I am going to go out on a limb here and go against popular sentiment. I am looking forward to seeing Viciedo up at some point, but I doubt he is our super hero in waiitng. He may produce and help us win, but I think it's unfair and unrealistic to put the burden of winning it all on this fellow's shoulders. We may be expecting too much and will be greatly disappointed. I think it's a misconception that fans are expecting Viciedo to come up and carry the offense. Rongey is big on this. Who has ever said he would be the difference between winning and losing? In my opinion, fans just want him to come up because he deserves it and there's no way he can be worse than Dunn. If that means more wins, great. If not, it wouldn't happen with Dunn playing every day anyway.

Who's Worse?
I put this season more on Kenny before it even started. He's got to go. Sorry Rios and Dunn couldn't hit for you KW, but it's time for a new approach with this organization. Hopefully his replacement will hire a new manager - or be allowed to hire a new manager.

Ozzie confirms Rios will be in lineup tomorrow
QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 01:15 PM) Ozzie screams at Brent and puts Rios in the lineup again. He has to be insane. Who cares anymore? This season is toast, and hopefully Ozzie and Kenny are too.

How bad is Alex Rios on the suck-o-meter?
Since the All Star break of 2010, here are Alex Rios's numbers in 165 games: 143-628 (.228 avg) 25 doubles, 2 triples, 12 homers, 77 runs, 63 rbi's He could be the lone reason for Kenny Williams losing his job. But there are so many other reasons.
