  1. My math... The Sox have to go 22-14, including 5-1 vs the Tigers to tie.
  2. Depending on your opinion, there's only one real race left...the NL West. D-backs 69-58 - Giants 68-60 1.5 6 left head-to-head, and even, easy schedules for the rest.
  3. Tigers have 36 left: 6 vs each of the 4 division teams 4 vs the Orioles, A's, and Rays If they can't go 18-18 and finish 86-76 with that schedule, then they got some splainin' to do.
  4. Saladino and Thompson should be interesting to follow next year.
  5. Tigers have this in the bag. Verlander's up next.
  6. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 21, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) nice day for valverde to finally blow a save at home Dreaded leadoff walk and an HBP
  7. Viciedo was 2-4 last night. 3-3, 2 HR today. 11 days til the call up.
  8. 5-0 Tigers. Lookin' like a sweep. I said it weeks ago...the Tigers will clinch with at least a week left in the season and win 87-89 games.
  9. Rios is batting 4th today.
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 20, 2011 -> 06:42 PM) not to sound all delusional, but with the way they responded after getting spanked by the yankees I wouldn't put it past them to put together another 8-2 stretch. Sure they will. The last 10 games of the season when they've already been eliminated.
  11. Somebody should tell Hawk the Sox are under .500. We don't need Tigers/Indians updates every few minuites.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 20, 2011 -> 06:35 PM) So what happened to Carlos? Just tuning in. Running catch coming in. Rolled over on his shoulder. Viciedo batted in the first inning. Ground out. .293
  13. Hawk didn't say anything about the booing. Charlotte is the 1st inning. We'll see if they pinch hit for Viciedo.
  14. Gotta say...booing Rios upon entering the game is pretty tasteless.
  15. Pierre, De Aza, Konerko, Quentin, Ramirez, Dunn, Flowers, Morel, Beckham
  16. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) Anyone still holding out hope for this year?? The loss last night sealed it for me.
  17. Peavy has 5 quality starts out of 15, plus one good bullpen outing. Just not good enough. Viciedo 1-3, SF
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 08:57 PM) What are the Sox paying him next year, like 18 million? I'd gladly trade him for Zambrano. The thought did cross my mind last week when that stuff was going on. I'd do it, as long as it was for one year. He has a vesting option for 2013 if he's healthy, so probably not.
  19. 40 days until this s*** is over.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 08:51 PM) Oh please, he's well below average. Terrible ERA and mediocre innings pitched. He definitely hasn't gotten stronger as the year has gone on. You're right. I was being generous.
  21. Peavy= run of the mill
  22. Kinney's got that valuable World Series experience that we're going to need later on.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 02:10 PM) Is there any chance this is the 7-day Concussion DL? The injury is for "facial contusion". I thought the same thing, but they probably need a true concussion diagnosis to use the 7-day.
  24. Guess they're taking more precautions, or he's got a dead arm period anyway.
  25. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 12:37 PM) I will start this post by pointing out I think Kenny Williams needs to go, and I find Rick Hahn an easy to like and smart baseball man who COULD have a bright future ahead of him as a GM. But, I think the love Rick Hahn gets and the love Rick Hahn deserves are not even close to being equal, and we should not rush into hiring him just because some people are afraid the Cubs might. That's fair, but for fans like us, you can only go by what people in the industry say about him---which is he's ready. All I know is Kenny has to go, and there's a respected assistant GM right under him that wants the job.
