  1. 20 quality starts out of 26 for Buehrle. Pay that man.
  2. Pierre, Ramirez, Konerko, Rios, Viciedo, De Aza, Flowers, Morel, Beckham
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 29, 2011 -> 12:43 PM) Hope DV plays tonight. With 31 left, I bet he starts at least 25 times.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 28, 2011 -> 09:33 PM) So yeah, 30 mins in and Breaking Bad is bringing it. Loved the last scene. Next week is going to be awesome.
  5. Tigers Rotation-- Scherzer- KC, Chi, Min, Oak, KC, Cle Fister- KC, Cle, Min, Oak, Bal, Cle Porcello- KC, Cle, Chi, Oak, Bal, Cle Turner- KC Verlander- Chi, Cle, Chi, Oak, Bal Penny- Chi, Min, Chi, KC, Bal Playoff Rotation- Verlander, Scherzer, Fister, Porcello They can't possibly play under .500 with that schedule.
  6. This week: Monday: Slowey-Buehrle Tuesday: Swarzak- Stewart Wednesday: Diamond- Peavy Friday: Danks - Verlander Saturday: Floyd - Penny Sunday: Buehrle - Scherzer Then Humber and Stewart will start the doubleheader in Minnesota on Labor Day. Peavy and Danks follow. Then... vs Cleveland-- Floyd, Buehrle, Humber, Peavy vs Detroit-- Danks, Floyd, Buehrle Not likely they're still in it, but with a month left, might as well still have some hope.
  7. I wasn't around the game thread today, but damn Beckham had some great swings today....that's what we need next year.
  8. Sox go 10-7 in Seattle, LAA, and Oakland this year. Remember when they sucked out there? If you include Colorado and Arizona, they were 14-9 in the pac/mtn time zones.

Good to see Santiago still having good outings.

    Isn't Charlotte playing now? http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...chraaa_dubaaa_2
  11. Tigers are 1.5 out from the 2-seed. It seemed like the Yankees and Red Sox were playing to face Verlander twice in a 5-game series, but it still could be the AL West winner against the AL East winner. I'm rooting for a Tigers/Brewers World Series. Both are great baseball towns with fans that get it.
  12. It doesn't bother me he's not playing tonight. The team is out of it. I didn't like Beckham playing the day he got called up either. He flew in from Charlotte and played a day game. He then proceeded to start his career 2-28.

QUOTE (TomPickle @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 07:13 PM) Viciedo was pulled out of the game in the second inning. Hopefully he's not hurt. Quentin is on the DL.
  14. Thome batting cleanup for the Tribe tonight. Hope he enjoys his five weeks there, but the fans that booed him for years shouldn't be allowed to cheer for him now.
  15. Pierre, Lillibridge, Konerko, Rios, Ramirez, Flowers, De Aza, Morel, Beckham
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 03:15 PM) Team record when each pitcher starts: Verlander: 20-8 Sabathia: 19-9 Beckett: 18-7 Weaver: 18-9 He hasn't been all that much more valuable to his team than other starters. He seems more valuable because of the rest of his team's struggles. It's one piece of the equation. You have team record, quality starts, innings pitched, ERA, WHIP, strikeouts, performance following a loss. I think if you take everything in consideration, Verlander runs away with the Cy, and is a legitimate MVP candidate.
  17. The Blue Jays can't quit D-wise.
  18. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 01:53 PM) Not happening. Beckham will be fine. I used to say things like this, and now I don't know. What happened to him? This may deserve its own thread discussion.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 26, 2011 -> 10:58 AM) Sure if you mean 63 wins for an entire season... If I knew the Sox were taking a step back for a year or two for the greater purpose of having a consistent farm system and ability to produce their own players for 2014-2020, I'd be ok with a 99-loss season. Nothing is worse than a mediocre to bad veteran team, and that's what we've been given the last few years. Enough is enough.
  20. Cooper was asked this morning if Santiago and Lindsay would be coming up in September, and he didn't commit but he did mention Addison Reed as a possibility, so I would assume there's a real good chance he's getting added to the 40-man next week.
  21. I wish him well playing out the string for five weeks for a lot of fans that booed him for years like they scum they are.
  22. Can't understand why Thome wants to play out the string in Cleveland, but whatever.
  23. 7 out. Tragic Number: 27
  24. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 25, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) Based on what exactly? I'd love to hear this Just his overall persona. That good ole boy, hillbilly s*** just doesn't rub me the right way.
  25. I've always felt Peavy has hated playing for the Sox, and really I can't blame him now. He's a douche, but this organization sucks right now. So I hope he finishes strong next year or gets traded mid-season, and smell ya later.
