  1. I want Buehrle back, but not for more than two years guaranteed and not at the expense of Chris Sale being in the bullpen for another year. What the Sox need to take into consideration is that they don't have a starting pitcher that they would feel real comfortable starting in a Game 1 of a postseason series. In my opinion, the best chance of having an ace in a few years is Chris Sale. He has to start next season and get his starting career going.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 22, 2011 -> 01:08 PM) Maybe they should open a Hall of Nice Guys who played Forever? Matt Stairs & Sean Casey, your plaques are ready. Sean Casey retired at 34.
  3. Atl 89-68 - Stl 87-69 1.5 Cardinals/Mets tomorrow afternoon. Braves are off Thursday. Then... Atlanta: 3 at Was 3 vs Phi St. Louis: 3 vs Cubs 3 at Hou
  4. Bos 88-68 - LAA 85-70 2.5 TB 85-70 2.5 Boston: 3 at NY 3 at Bal Angels: 1 at Tor 3 vs Oak 3 vs Tex Rays: 1 at NY 3 vs Tor 3 vs NY New Rule: Last 2 weeks of the season, each team plays four different teams.
  5. Posada 2-run single in the 8th. 4-2 Yankees. 3 outs away from winning the AL East. f***.
  6. Cardinals win. 1.5 game lead for the Braves. One back in the loss column. Cardinals have Mets tomorrow, then Cubs and Astros. Braves have Nationals and Phillies.
  7. Willie Harris 2-out homer in St. Louis. 6-5 cards.
  8. Freese 3-run jack. 6-4 Cards. Red Sox about to lose...woooooo
  9. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 02:35 PM) I would be interested in people defining whether 2006 was a "successful" season, then. I'm not sure how many wins over 90 an organization can reasonably "expect" You have to dig a little deeper on that season. They finished 34-43 the last 77. Ultimately it was an unsuccessful season.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 11:36 AM) No way, they'll let him pitch at least a few innings at the Cell next week. I agree, plus it's doubtful he'll go 7.2 innings tonight to reach 200 innings. He'll start next Monday or Tuesday vs Toronto.
  11. Success is relative to different teams. If the Pirates finished .500, they could call it a successful season. The Diamondacks are going from a 97-loss season to the playoffs the next year. No matter what they do in the playoffs, it's been a successful season. For teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, and the Phillies this year, nothing but winning the World Series is a successful season. And for the White Sox, I call it a successful season if they make the playoffs. Just finishing over .500 means nothing to me.
  12. Old school... Verlander and Kershaw both lead their leagues in the triple crown categories...ERA, wins, and strikeouts. Done deal. They are the Cy Young winners.
  13. Hideous... http://eye-on-baseball.blogs.cbssports.com...297882/32148056
  14. Instead of the pitcher retaliation, I wish Alexei just went out there.
  15. Rays miss an opportunity to move closer. Red Sox and Braves may both make it, but I wouldn't put money on either making it out of the first round.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 09:20 PM) I must say this might be the worst Tosh ever. Yeah, that was a waste.
  17. Pierre, Ramirez, Konerko, Dunn, Viciedo, De Aza, Vizquel, Flowers, Beckham
  18. Some of those names Rogers lists are awful. I don't want Joey Cora managing this team. He's just more of the same and won't change the culture of the team. When Ozzie goes, Cora, Walker, and probably Baines have to leave. The rest, I don't care either way. I'm on the Sandy Alomar or Dave Martinez bandwagon. And as much as I don't like La Russa personally, I'd put up with him for a year or two if Joe McEwing is on the bench with him.
  19. Sox are 95-115 in the division the last three years. Chicago Tough.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) I'm kind of disappointed in the lack of talk about last night's Breaking Bad. It was so freaking good. Besides too much Walter Jr, that was a great episode. Especially the scenes that took place in Mexico. Next week should be interesting.
  21. Marlins walk off the Braves. We gotta race in the NL wildcard... Atl 87-67 - Stl 84-69 2.5 SF 83-70 3.5 Braves: 2 at Fla 3 at Was 3 vs Phi Cardinals: 3 vs NY 3 vs Chi 3 at Hou Giants: 3 at LA 3 at Arz 3 vs Col
  22. 6-5 O's going to the 9th. A couple runs here would be good.
  23. 3-6 at KC this year. :slowclap:
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 18, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) Beckham is just freaking awful at the plate. Really seems like he needs a change of scenery. I hope they give him one more year with a new coaching staff around him. The Sox are going to suck next year with or without him, so they might as well see if they can turn him around while he's here.
