QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) I now look forward to Thursdays that contain no White Sox baseball. 8 weeks from today. -
Rios is on the bench tonight. Konerko is back.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 01:38 PM) Change may be imminent, but seriously, we are not playing with the house's money any more like we were after 2005. This team could be in for a long long rebuilding road. This season may be our best season in a long time. I don't think any White Sox fans are ready for that pain. Let's say we have 4-6 straight seasons of sub .500 baseball. Ugh. I'm just saying the change you want may result in a way worse pitching staff. Coupled with our rich underachieving offense that may result in us being the worst team in baseball for a long time. Well, they're going to win 75 games with a 127 mil payroll this year. Cleveland and KC are coming on organizationally. The Twins always have a consistent approach and it works for them when they don't have injuries up the yingyang like this year. They may finish under .500 for a few years no matter what they do. At the very least, they can make some solid organizational decisions that will pay dividends the second half of this decade.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 01:03 AM) Manager: Sandy Alomar Jr. Bench Coach: Robin Ventura Pitching Coach: Don Cooper Hitting Coach: Frank Thomas 1st Base: Harold Baines 3rd Base: Omar Vizquel (and if he follows Ozzie, put just about anyone here). Not bad, but I don't think Ventura has any interest in being in uniform everyday for 7 or 8 months. I also think the same of Frank, and I also think he'd be an awful coach. Alomar as a manager, and Vizquel as a bench coach would be ok with me. I'd like Bob Brenly to be interviewed. As far as LaRussa, I said it last night....if Reinsdorf hires that guy back, I will no longer support the White Sox until he sells the team or dies.

I'm thinking if they play their cards right, they can get the 8th or 9th pick next year. -

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) 54 Game Win Totals: Cle 33-21 - Det 28-26 5 Sox 24-30 9 KC 24-30 9 Min 17-37 16 Let's check back at 108. I think we're going to like what we see around August 1. Well, I knew Cleveland would come back to earth, but the Sox didn't come around, needless to say. Games 55-108: Min 33-21 Det 29-25 Sox 28-26 KC 22-32 Cle 21-33 108 total: Det 57-51 - Cle 54-54 3 Sox 52-56 5 Min 50-58 7 KC 46-62 11 Tigers will win the division by 8-10 games.

Most frustrating season ever considering the expectations, and how more than adequate the pitching staff has been (not tonight). If changes aren't made beyond players, I'm out. And it better not be Tony La Russa. If they hire that piece of s***, I won't be back until Reinsdorf kicks it. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 07:56 PM) Yep. Addison Reed too, whenever he's ready. Viciedo obviously. Hector Santiago. On Viciedo, he was slumping before his injury, so I'd like him to stay down until he's mashing again and feeling good about himself. This team is out of it anyway. No need to put pressure on the kid now. If it means a September callup, that's ok. -

Random thoughts-- Ozzie was an idiot to pitch to Cano, but who cares? Team sucks. The season ends 8 weeks from today. Kenny MUST resign eight weeks from tomorrow. He has to go. Let Ozzie go to Miami. Hire Rick Hahn, and let him hire his own manager and coaching staff. Besides Sale, Santos, and Konerko, make anyone fair game in the right deal. Dunn must lose 30 pounds in the offseason and work with the new hitting coach before spring training. And last but not least---Alex Rios CANNOT be on the 2012 White Sox. That bum must go at all costs. If it means picking up 30 of the 40 million due him over the next 3 years (what were you thinking Kenny?), then you have to do it. He's the epitome of the dead ass 2011 White Sox. -
Is Ross Wilson legitimately in AA, or is he just holding a spot because of an injury?

54 glorified spring training games left... 8 weeks to go. -
2/3 of the season in the books. 65 quality starts. Starters-- 3.83 ERA Bullpen-- 3.46 ERA Only 39-26 with a quality start. What a waste of a season.

A Brewers/Rangers World Series would be ok with me. Anyone but the east teams.

Looks like Hudson is about to pitch his Diamondbacks into a first place tie by going into San Francisco and beating Tim Lincecum. 8 innings, 6 hits, 1 run, 1 bb, 5 k Got a hit and a walk too. Batting .326 this season.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 08:18 PM) honestly, do we get over .500 this year at any point? I'm starting to have my doubts (and no, that has nothing to do with this game). I seriously doubt it, and I really don't care at this point. Hopefully some kids get to play in September, and we can find out what we have a little bit. -

Could be 5.5 tonight. Gotta wonder what would have happened at the deadline if Kenny knew they'd be this far back this quick. -
Matt Moore- another good Rays prospect. 8th rounder.

I think they blew this one. Looks like the rain is weakening as it approaches. Would have been brief even if it rained a little.
