  1. Giants crushing the ball lately. They'll win today, and if the D-backs lose, they'll be down to a 4 game lead with 3 head-to-head left.
  2. Oh yeah, this will be the 8th loss in a row.
  3. 4-2 rays, bottom 4 Price got smoked with a line drive off the right chest area in the 3rd.
  4. Rays with 4-0 lead. Looking like a 2 game lead for Boston with 10 left. Boston: 4 vs Bal 3 at NY 3 at Bal Tampa Bay: 4 at NY 3 vs Tor 3 vs NY
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) It's all about what the total salary is. If we have to drop below $110 million, 2/$20 requires trading Quentin and Danks. U up for that? I think Quentin's done with the Sox for sure. And I don't even think they'll get a lot back for him. Sox have 11 players at $88 mil next year... Peavy 17.0 Dunn 14.0 Konerko 12.0 Rios 12.0 Floyd 7.0 Pierzynski 6.0 Thornton 5.5 Ramirez 5.0 Crain 4.5 Ohman 2.5 Viciedo 2.5 It pains me to say, but I'd let Buehrle go unless the Sox can get him back cheap. Danks being arb eligible--I think the smarter move may be to keep him and hold as a trade piece mid-season next year if they fall out of it. Floyd at 7 mil would be attractive to some teams. I don't think the Sox are going to be good the next two years anyway, so I could live with the rotation next year starting out to be: Danks, Peavy, Humber, Sale, Stewart If all goes right, Danks bounces back in his contract year; Peavy gets his regulatr offseason program going and he comes back better in his contract year; Humber is Humber and an ok starter; maybe Sale is an ace in the making and has a great season (could happen), and Stewart is a good 5th starter. All of this could happen, but everything has to go right.
  6. Tigers 6 outs away. Treadmill guy isn't going to make it. Trying to run a marathon during the game.
  7. RIP Frances Bay. Jerry stole the marble rye from her.
  8. Beckham is 25 today, and he's a career .227 hitter at home. Good work!
  9. I know a team that's getting some Dairy Queen tonight.
  10. Too bad this is how Buehrle is finishing up. Unless they get him back at one year, or a cheap 2-year deal, I'm starting to think it may be best to let him go. Peavy, Rios and Dunn's contracts are really going to force some tough decisions.
  11. Beckham--watching him in the College WS, I was rooting for the Sox to get him. And then when they got him, I thought he'd be better than this. Never going to let that happen again. I also remember thinking guys like Corwin Malone and Aaron Myette would be something based on good minor league stats. I don't fall for that anymore.
  12. Tigers clinch tonight with an Indians loss and a Tigers win at 1am eastern time.
  13. 2 weeks left. Playoffs Stand this way... Braves at Diamondbacks Brewers at Phillies Red Sox at Tigers Rangers at Yankees Tigers are 3.5 back of NY for the 1-seed. D-backs and Brewers are tied, but AZ won the season series, so a tie goes to them.

    The League---October 6 SHIVAAAAAA!
  15. Check out the Braves interleague schedule next year... at TB vs Tor vs NY vs Bal at NY at Bos Uhh, when did the Braves start playing the Yankees twice? Which means the Yankees play the Braves and Mets twice, plus Reds and Nationals. Bring back the BALANCED SCHEDULE!
  16. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 04:18 PM) Does it make me bad SOX fan that I'd actually consider rooting for Detroit to win this postseason? No. I will be unless Tampa gets in.
  17. Axelrod has good long relief stuff. I think he's here next year. Tigers are damn good right now. They will be dangerous in October.
  18. Non-Divison Breakdown... Bal 4 home 4 away Bos 4 home 4 away NY 3 home 4 away TB 4 home 3 away Tor 6 home 4 away LAA 3 home 5 away Oak 3 home 3 away Sea 6 home 3 away Tex 3 home 6 away Cubs 3 home 3 away Mil 3 home Hou 3 home Stl 3 away LAD 3 away I hope this is the last year of the unbalanced schedule. Already fearing going 2-8 against the Blue Jays.
  19. Braun walk off homer. Magic Number 8.
  20. Hey, look who's under .500 again. Indians too.
  21. Looks like 6 innings and 5 runs will be good enough for Tim Wakefield to get his 200th win.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 12, 2011 -> 09:33 PM) You think it's bad here? Check out Sons of Sam Horn. I can't believe the s*** they get away with there. Some poster made fun of Jon Lester's past cancer or whatever the hell he had yesterday. They're in full-blown meltdown mode. Wicked hahd-cowr.
  23. Rays 3 back with 16 left... Red Sox: 2 vs Tor 4 vs TB 4 vs Bal 3 at NY 3 at Bal Rays: 2 at Bal 4 at Bos 4 at NY 3 vs Tor 3 vs NY
