Brewers get Gio Gonzalez
In a way, yes. But they’ve been there the last 4-5 years. Can’t blame them for going for a shot in August to see if something clicked. It didn’t.

That Eloy guy got a double.

Expanded September Roster - Who Gets the Call?
Tilson and Castillo not in the lineup tonight. Probably will be added for tomorrow night’s rainout.

Eloy Will NOT Be Called Up
I just hope the next CBA gets creative with service time and gets players that deserve to be in the big leagues there without a huge disincentive to the club. And the term “September Callup” needs to die forever.

Brewers acquire Xavier Cedeno
Nice catch. They’re both listed on the GF roster.

Expanded September Roster - Who Gets the Call?
The Sox are at 40 now Besides the 25 current— DL- Abreu, Leury, Jones, Castillo...is Jones done for the year? 40-man (up this yr)- Fulmer, Bummer, Danish, Tilson, Skole, Garneau 40-man (not up this yr)- Clarkin, Basabe, Adolfo, Jimenez, Cordell

Eloy Will NOT Be Called Up
Not really. He’s not coming up, but Hahn has to be consistent and not talk about one player today, and others on Monday.

Eloy Will NOT Be Called Up
Fans ate that stuff up, and for good reasons. But the front office probably went a little crazy that day.

Brewers acquire Xavier Cedeno
Ya think? What if Matt Davidson pitches in the same game as Hamilton and Burr? He might have a stroke...in more ways than one.

Eloy Will NOT Be Called Up
His agents? Agreed. Seriously though, Getz kinda blew it on the radio interview. Other than that, it’s just part of the industry right now.

Eloy Will NOT Be Called Up
Somehow, I don't think he's going to be attending Soxfest in January. Smart move. Hopefully they can still discuss a long term deal, but if not, see you April 10 or 15.

Errybody. Sep 1 at midnight.

Brewers acquire Xavier Cedeno
When I saw Jennings limping off the field yesterday, it was my first thought. Sox and Brewers have matched up a lot lately.

Hamilton’s agent filing a grievance too?

Eloy's Camp Unhappy: Grievance Possible
I mentioned this the other day, but it's true...years ago, if you saw a 21-yr-old prospect killing it at AAA, you'd be happy, but you'd say, "That guy is going to be awesome next year when he gets called up". You wouldn't necessarily be demanding his call up for your entertainment for a month. So part of the problem is just social media and being exposed to his daily performance. And yes, the White Sox themselves add to that hype, but they're not doing anything that bad here.

Eloy's Camp Unhappy: Grievance Possible
I'm going to trust that they've weighed all of this into a decision that makes the most sense for the window of winning they're trying to attain....which is 2021-2025. If he wants to sign before then, great.

Eloy's Camp Unhappy: Grievance Possible
Ok, file then. I'm sure the Sox have tried to lock him up to a deal that would put him in LF tonight. If he wants to sign and get the money, I'm all for it. Until then, it's just a smart business move that takes in consideration what the Player's Association collectively bargained.

Eloy's Camp Unhappy: Grievance Possible
A 21-yr-old that hasn't played a full season in AAA. I don't care how good he is, the Sox don't have to feel bad about anything. The MLBPA is to blame, as they collectively bargain this stuff.

2018 Watercooler thread
Ha, it definitely helps doing a re-watch before the new season starts. Lodge 49 anyone? I like it.
