  1. Hopefully it's down to Houston and Pittsburgh, and the Sox are just waiting for one of them to say the right thing. I'd still be shocked if Meadows is even being discussed, but we'll see.
  2. Hopefully the Sox are using the Pirates for leverage and they'll find a trade with the Astros they can be happy making.
  3. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 04:28 PM) We really need some fresh new rumors. Or actual trades. Two weeks since Eaton, I'm a little surprised they haven't made another one since. Just going to be a long process over the next year.
  4. QUOTE (Username @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 04:09 PM) Insane how loaded our core was at one point with position players. Thomas, Magglio, Konerko, Carlos Lee, Ray Durham, Valentine...how was that team not better??? Because the rest of baseball was juiced too.
  5. Interesting Manny Ramirez is at 34%, considering he failed tests after testing became a thing. I think he belongs based on being a great hitter--even though he'll probably not get in. My ballot would be: Bagwell, Bonds, Clemens, Guerrero, McGriff, Mussina, Raines, Ramirez, Rodriguez, Schilling Everyone else fall short for me. I could clean this ballot up in one year.
  6. 75 ballots made public. Bagwell 91% Raines 88% Pudge 84% Hoffman 77% https://twitter.com/NotMrTibbs/status/811609958894616576 Ballots need to be turned in next week. Results in four weeks.
  7. The whole point of trading McCutchen is to make room for Meadows soon. I just don't think he's in the conversation. The Pirates would move on to other possibilities.
  8. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 09:30 AM) A package without a headliner such as Meadows would be rather underwhelming. If they can make a trade on par with what they got for Eaton, I think they make the trade. Giolito's stock fell, but still has huge upside. The other two pitchers are legit prospects. Conforto's stock has fallen, but he's still talented. If they can get him and a few other good prospects, I think it's a good deal. The Pirates get their innings eating starter. The Mets get their CF.
  9. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 09:25 AM) Would much rather have Meadows than Conforto. I agree, but honestly, I think the Pirates aren't moving Meadows under any circumstance.
  10. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 09:18 AM) Hypothetical 3 way trade suggestion: Pirates get Q Mets get McCutchen Sox get Conforto, Newman, Dunn, Keller I kinda like that! No idea if it's fair for everyone, but it looks good.
  11. Only for Chuck Garfien, I hope they get Kevin Newman. He was born the day Robin Ventura charged Nolan Ryan. 8/4/93

  13. At the Eaton press conference, Hahn was asked who the current outfield is...he said Melky, Tilson, and Avi, but things can change.
  14. Zsa Zsa finally kicked it. 50 days before her 100th.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 17, 2016 -> 08:54 PM) Danks for McCarthy happened between XMas and New Year's as well Saturday, December 23, 2006
  16. After the first week, the Sox play 44 of 66 games on the road. Good luck with that hot start.
  17. Low-key Quintana should be traded on a Saturday, where it would be ignored by the media. It would be fitting if it happened today. The Astros and White Sox need each other, in my opinion.
  18. Probably could sign back on a minor league deal. Arms are arms. Especially lefty.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) Is this signing official yet? I don't have any issue with adding him. He's not that old and it's probably a short term and cheap contract. Worst case scenario is he's a Shields or Danks clone and gets the Sox closer to the #1 pick. Best case is that Coop helps him out and the Sox get another prospect out of it. We'll see. Not official yet. Don't even know if this is a minor league deal. If it's a major league deal, they would have to clear a spot for him. This time of year, it sometimes gets delayed officially for weeks.
  20. When they trade Quintana, Frazier, Robertson, etc., the win total will take care of itself the next couple years. I'm rooting for the guys they plan on having on winning teams in 2019-2023.
  21. Looks like a done deal. Build up the value and trade him. Best case scenario.
  22. 2016 has been an all-timer for celebrity deaths
  23. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 05:43 PM) Why? There is literally no good reason to just trade him. Get a good return that you like, or hold onto him and see if he regained some value in the first few months of the season. They could do that, but with the money he's owed and the team the Sox are going to field, I just feel like now is the time to move him to a contending team that's going to want bullpen arms going into the season. We'll see.
