  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 02:57 PM) Hawk strongly implying Sox will be buyers this offseason. They'll try to recreate 2005 until Reinsdorf kicks it. They'll fail.
  2. From the Indians perspective, maybe today isn't the day to celebrate anyway. Today sucks for the game as a whole.
  3. I hope Rodon starts opening day, if you know what I mean.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 01:43 PM) Still in complete shock over this. Baseball lost a damn good one. I shed a few watching the Marlins press conference. Every all star game for the next decade, I will try to think of him.
  5. QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 12:52 PM) Such a travesty - if I was on the team I would lobby for this course of action. Pack it in and dedicate the silence to him. The Yankees played at night in NY after going to Munson's funeral in Ohio. It's tough, but life moves on and unfortunately they play the Mets, so they have to. Maybe the services will be Thursday on the off day, but they could push Monday's game to Thursday to give them an extra day to regroup.
  6. Royals Tigers only in the 3rd, so it's going to be hard for the Indians to celebrate even if they take the lead and win. They can scoreboard watch after if it comes to that.
  7. Rodon starting. Anderson, Cabrera, Abreu, Morneau, Frazier, A Garcia, Narvaez, Sanchez, L Garcia Last road game. 32-48.
  8. Way down on the list of how this impacts baseball, but unfortunately the Marlins have to play the Mets 3 games this week. If they want to change Monday's game to Thursday, they could- but I'm sure the Marlins just want to go home. So shocking.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 08:40 AM) Whoa. He was gonna win multiple Cy Youngs. Whoa. He'll always be a "could have been a Hall of Famer". We'll never know what he would have done over the next 15 years. It's so sad. I can't imagine what his family and teammates are feeling right now. Even the White Sox Dan Jennings, I feel bad for.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 08:27 AM) I know it doesn't matter but he was pushed back to tomorrow. So incredibly sad. Big loss for the baseball world. You're right, I was just about to edit. Thanks. This is just shocking news.
  11. 2 others were killed, and today's Marlins-Braves game has been cancelled. The call came in at 3am. He was scheduled to start today.
  12. Wow, this is so sad. What a story he's had. What talent. What a future he was going to have. Unbelievable. Honestly, I always wonder why more type-A athletes don't have more accidents doing risky things. The combination of money, opportunities, and feeling immortal is a risky combination. So sad.
  13. 8 left... Tor 85-69 +2 Det 83-71 -- Bal 83-71 -- Hou 81-73 2 Sea 81-73 2
  14. Frankie Rodriguez gives up a 5-spot to the Royals. Was 4-2 Tigers. Now 7-4. Looking like the Indians will be able to clinch at home if they sweep the Sox.
  15. Not going to happen, but for the 10th pick: Sox 2-7 Brewers 5-3
  16. I think no Sox manager has had that many losing seasons in a row, although I think that was set last year. But Robin is definitely the first Sox manager to be allowed to stay for four straight.
  17. Trumbo walk off HR. Orioles 83-71 Astros in the process of blowing a game.
  18. 9 games left... Tor 84-69. Det 83-70 - Bal 82-71 1 Sea 81-72 2 Hou 81-72 2
  19. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 09:39 PM) Only question is how many days after the season will they wait to give Robin the ziggy. Didn't ozzie quit with a day or two to go to take that Miami job? They'll probably just announce that Robin and some of the coaches won't be renewed to soften the blow. Probably on October 3rd.
  20. 4-22 in Cle, Det, KC this year 48-88 in Cle, Det, KC 2012-2016
  21. This dude got popped for drugs. http://www.baseball-reference.com/register...id=arias-000yoj
  22. Saladino scratched with a back. Sanchez in.
  23. 10 left. Start the countdown... Gonzalez vs Bauer Sox Eaton, Anderson, Cabrera, Abreu, Morneau, Frazier, Garcia, Narvaez, Saladino Indians Santana, Kipnis, Lindor, Napoli, Ramirez, Chisenhall, Crisp, Naquin, Perez Indians magic number is 4. Hopefully they clinch in Detroit next week.
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 10:22 AM) Remaining for 87-75 - Tor 4-6 Bal 5-5 Hou 6-4 Det 7-5 Sea 7-3 NY 8-3 Tigers win game 1 of the doubleheader in Minnesota. Getting tight. It's a race to 88, really.
