  1. Not going to happen, but for the 10th pick: Sox 2-7 Brewers 5-3
  2. I think no Sox manager has had that many losing seasons in a row, although I think that was set last year. But Robin is definitely the first Sox manager to be allowed to stay for four straight.
  3. Trumbo walk off HR. Orioles 83-71 Astros in the process of blowing a game.
  4. 9 games left... Tor 84-69. Det 83-70 - Bal 82-71 1 Sea 81-72 2 Hou 81-72 2
  5. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 09:39 PM) Only question is how many days after the season will they wait to give Robin the ziggy. Didn't ozzie quit with a day or two to go to take that Miami job? They'll probably just announce that Robin and some of the coaches won't be renewed to soften the blow. Probably on October 3rd.
  6. Hip and back soreness for Eaton.
  7. 4-22 in Cle, Det, KC this year 48-88 in Cle, Det, KC 2012-2016
  8. This dude got popped for drugs. http://www.baseball-reference.com/register...id=arias-000yoj
  9. Saladino scratched with a back. Sanchez in.
  10. 10 left. Start the countdown... Gonzalez vs Bauer Sox Eaton, Anderson, Cabrera, Abreu, Morneau, Frazier, Garcia, Narvaez, Saladino Indians Santana, Kipnis, Lindor, Napoli, Ramirez, Chisenhall, Crisp, Naquin, Perez Indians magic number is 4. Hopefully they clinch in Detroit next week.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 10:22 AM) Remaining for 87-75 - Tor 4-6 Bal 5-5 Hou 6-4 Det 7-5 Sea 7-3 NY 8-3 Tigers win game 1 of the doubleheader in Minnesota. Getting tight. It's a race to 88, really.
  12. If Konerko ever gets into coaching, I bet it will be with a team out west. He's definitely not interested now, and I don't think he wants to be a White Sox inner circle cult member either.
  13. Remaining for 87-75 - Tor 4-6 Bal 5-5 Hou 6-4 Det 7-5 Sea 7-3 NY 8-3
  14. Matt Moore getting torched. The three teams will be tied with 10 games left.
  15. Mets lose. Inciarte robbed Cespedes of a 3-run homer that would have won it.
  16. Sale reached his career high in innings tonight. He would have to throw 17 innings with no earned runs to get his ERA to 2.99.
  17. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 21, 2016 -> 07:10 PM) Done awhile ago. I think Boston has the cy young man If Porcello had a bad start where his ERA went up, Britton blew a big game, and Sale ended up with an ERA under 3, he was alive for the award going into this game. Not now though.
  18. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Sep 21, 2016 -> 07:04 PM) RIP Cy Young. Not that he was likely to win, but this is the final nail in the coffin. Yep. 32 starts, 230 innings, and an ERA under 3 would have looked good, but that's done now.
  19. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Sep 21, 2016 -> 03:38 PM) Why throw the baby out with the bath water? Coop is the one clear-cut positive on the coaching staff right now. Even with a mid-season bullpen implosion, the Sox are (likely) going to still allow less than 700 runs this season. That's pretty impressive for a team with a disaster #5 starter, no reliable 7th inning reliever, no true LOOGY, and a closer having a below-average year. It's a gamble I hope they make. My hope is the new manager has a stronger grasp on what he wants to do with the pitching staff himself. If Cooper isn't calling the shots like he's used to, there could be some problems. We'll see what happens on October 3rd.
  20. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Sep 21, 2016 -> 03:29 PM) My guess is that it'd be Renteria. He has managerial experience, he knows the players, he knows the organization, he speaks Spanish, and my understanding is that the Cubs only parted ways with him because Maddon was available. I figured that was the reason they hired Renteria as bench coach in the first place. I'm not understanding the comments about Cooper. Does he want to leave, or is he rubbing the wrong people the wrong way? His results don't seem to be a problem. It's not like he's a bad pitching coach, but my feeling is if they're going to change the clubhouse and the leadership, start fresh. We all know Cooper is the manager of the pitching staff...and that could be a part of the current problem. Clean house. Start fresh.
  21. QUOTE (Dunt @ Sep 21, 2016 -> 12:37 PM) Whoever they decide on, I really hope it's a full cleanse of the coaching staff. The message is stale and they need a lot of new life in there. Coop has run his course, teaching every pitcher a cutter isn't innovative. I haven't seem big improvement from any Sox pitchers in awhile. Agree there. I'm much more interested in what they'll do with Cooper than who the new manager is going to be. I have no idea how the next manager will be, and can already anticipate annoying posts about "this is what you wanted". But as far as Coop, he's had some successes, but it's time for a fresh start. I hope they have a brand new major league staff.
  22. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 21, 2016 -> 12:10 PM) Robin stays More fans leave.
  23. QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 21, 2016 -> 11:57 AM) No matter how many people are in consideration, Sox fans will hate the move unless it's Dave Martinez. Including you?
  24. I think they'll hire an Hispanic that speaks Spanish. Hopefully someone with major league coaching or minor league managing experience to a 3-year deal. Who that is, I don't know and I don't care. I just hope they hire someone who fits in with what they're trying to accomplish over the next couple years, and are willing to fire them after three years if they're not good.
