  1. I want the Orioles to win the division anyway, so I hope Bundy does his thing.
  2. Next year is just going to be another attempt at winning with roughly the same team and new coaching staff. Sale, Quintana, Shields. Rodon, Gonzalez will be the rotation unless Shields goes in a waiver deal this month. They'll start the season with Melky, Frazier, and Lawrie. They'll sign two different catchers again. Same old stuff.
  3. Probably 6th at best, 13th at worst. If they play the last 54 like the did the previous 54, they'll finish 75-87. Nine teams are projected to finish worse than that, so it looks like they'll be on the bubble. My guess is they'll get to that final week at home vs the Rays and Twins, with Sale potentially starting two games for 20 wins, and Quintana maybe also in the Cy race, and they'll finish with 77-79 wins by having a hot last week between two irrelevant teams. 12th pick.
  4. 8-22 vs Indians, Tigers, and Royals, with 27 games left against these teams. 15-40 at Comerica since 2010 Stay hot.
  5. Something I heard last night that I didn't know...Brian Downing made his debut May 31, 1973. Came in on defense at 3B in the 7th inning for Melton. One pitch. Hurt his leg. Came back a couple months later. First major league hit was a homer off Mickey Lolich. Then had a 20 year career.
  6. Somebody I never heard of, to starting CF of the Sox, to out for the year in about 60 hours. What a season.
  7. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 09:25 PM) For the most part this is an embarrassment if a game thread Cool. The Sox should send you an award for being the most loyal, bestest Sox fan in the whole wide world.
  8. QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 09:19 PM) tim Andersons obp is under .280 That was inevitable. He's not good.
  9. Is it difficult keeping your f***ing pocket tucked in?
  10. The guy threw a fastball down the middle with a 7-run lead. Avi still sucks, Hawk.
  11. They look capable of going 23-34 the final 57. 74-88. Something like that.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 07:47 PM) Really a shame they didn't move Shields and take advantage of his run of fluky starts 7 shutout, no walks for Ranaudo tonight.

  14. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 04:11 PM) He just replaces Duke or is did a subsequent move already been made? Rodon replaced Duke on the 25-man. Shuck was sent down today.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:48 PM) He needs to use the word "ultimately...". Just heard him. He did.
  16. Hahn is having a conference call now, said no talks reached a point where they went to Reinsdorf. Anywho...
  17. QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) Rick Hahn: 'We had number conversations about every team in baseball but no other deals made sense for long-term competitiveness standpoint' https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/760215176779931649 This sounds exactly like the speech I posted yesterday He needs to use the word "ultimately...".
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:44 PM) Well we got rid of Duke too. So Parke presumably as well. Purke will probably come back up on Friday when they're done with the righty heavy Tigers.
  19. Only thing to do...get Uribe and reel off a 40-17.
  20. Disappointed and surprised nothing happened, but considering the weak free agent market, I'm willing to be patient to see what happens by mid December.
  21. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:02 PM) Has anyone confirmed yet that we made no deals? I know some deals are announced late. And what's this bonus time stuff flavum was talking about? Just if a last minute trade got through and has yet to be announced. Gammons says to wait a half hour.
