  1. The Sox are the middle team in the 15 team league. Need to go 27-17 the next 44 to only have to go 17-16 the final 33, and finish 88-74.
  2. at Det 2-1 (0-3) vs Was 2-1 (1-2) vs KC 2-1 (1-2) vs Det 2-1 (2-1) -4 at Cle 1-2 (0-3) -5 at Bos 2-2 (3-1) -4 vs Tor 2-1 (2-1) -4 vs Min 2-1 (2-1) -4 at Hou 2-1 (2-1) -4 vs NY 2-1 (2-1) -4 vs Atl 2-1 at LAA 2-1 at Sea 1-2 vs Det 2-2 vs Chi 1-1 at Chi 1-1 at Min 2-1 at Det 1-2 Reviving this for Caulfield. The Sox went 12-15 in Games 55-81. Still 4 games behind where they should be when the middle 54 started. Hopefully sweep the Braves and go at least 4-2 out west after the break.
  3. Great start for Gonzalez. When you look around the league, everyone wants starting pitching except maybe the Indians. If the Sox can get some consistency, they could have one of the better rotations.
  4. Collins in the Arizona lineup.
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 11:59 AM) Must win game. Need to keep winning series up until the deadline. The Yankees don't scare me in the long run, so I look at it as 3 out of 4 until the break no matter what. Lose tonight, sweep the Braves is ok too....but win tonight!
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 11:18 AM) Junior Guerra got hit in the eye by his own jewelry while throwing a pitch. Good.
  7. Next two weeks: Bos 44-37 -- 3 vs Tex, 3 vs TB, 3 at NY Det 44-38 -- 3 at Cle, 4 at Tor, 3 vs KC Tor 45-39 -- 3 vs KC, 4 vs Det, 3 at Oak KC 43-38 -- 3 at Tor, 4 vs Sea, 3 at Det Hou 43-39 -- 3 vs Sea, 4 vs Oak, 3 at Sea Sea 43-39 -- 3 at Hou, 4 at KC, 3 vs Hou Sox 42-40 -- 3 vs NY, 3 vs Atl, 3 at LAA A lot of head-to-head where teams can go 5-5, while the Sox can go 7-2. Could look good in a couple weeks if the Sox handle their business.
  8. The Sox are 0-9 in the cities of Cleveland, Detroit, and Kansas City. 19 of their 80 games left are in these cities. No, they aren't making the playoffs, but I hope I'm wrong.
  9. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 08:06 AM) My guess is the answer depends on Brett Lawrie. First 33 games (23-10): .271 AVG, .817 OPS Next 35 games (9-26): .191 AVG, .570 OPS Last 13 games (9-4): .377 AVG, 1.079 OPS Seems like when Brett hits, the Sox win, and when he doesn't, they don't. 23-10, then 10-26, then 9-4. 42-40.
  10. Yankees probably get to their hotel about 1am or so. Day game tomorrow. I would assume CC flew to Chicago already.
  11. I look at it this way... The Sox have a shot, and we can hope they get to 88 wins or whatever it takes for Sale to be on the mound for an extra game. But the most likely outcome of this season is coming up short. That's just a fact right now.
  12. Andrew Miller struggling in San Diego this weekend. Probably won't be available tomorrow.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 3, 2016 -> 05:48 PM) Thank you so much for posting this! I really appreciate it! Just a guess at this point. We'll see what they announce for a post break rotation.
  14. Everyone is chasing 88 wins. 80 left. Here's what the Sox have to do: Tigers 7-6 Twins 7-3 Royals 6-4 Indians 5-5 Mariners 4-3 Rays 2-2 Cubs 2-2 Phillies 2-2 Orioles 2-1 Yankees 2-1 A's 2-1 Braves 2-1 Angels 2-1 Marlins 1-2 The final 33 games of the season begin with 20 of 26 games against the Tigers, Royals, and Indians.
  15. Through 81 Games: Bos 44-37 +1 Det 43-38 -- Tor 43-38 -- KC 43-38 -- Hou 43-38 -- Sea 42-39 1 Sox 41-40 2 Buckle up.
  16. Archer pitched over bases loaded, nobody out in the first. Rays better beat the Tigers at least one game this series.
  17. Sale's 16 starts to the Cy: 7-8 vs Atl 7-18 at Sea 7-23 vs Det 7-28 at Cubs 8-3 at Det 8-9 at KC 8-14 at Mia 8-20 vs Oak 8-26 vs Sea 8-31 at Det 9-5 vs Det 9-11 vs KC 9-16 at KC 9-21 at Phi 9-26 vs TB 10-1 vs Min Make all of your starts! (of course this might change with rain, wildcard setup)
  18. Only Sale will make it, and he'll start the game.

  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 3, 2016 -> 10:33 AM) Feels a lot like 2015, deja vu all over again. Minus the 23-10 start. Last year we had the winning streak in late July to project false hope instead. Yeah, we know where this is headed over the next month. Really, if the Sox are going to make any type of run--right now is the time. They kinda need to win today, and then come home and beat the Yankees and Braves 5 or 6 games. Then after the break, Anaheim and Seattle and go 4-2. 10-3 the next 13 is really needed.
  21. We need a perfect day: White Sox beat the Astros Phillies beat the Royals Angels beat the Red Sox Rays beat the Tigers Indians beat the Blue Jays Orioles beat the Mariners http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings/_/view/wi...rd/group/league It's not good seeing five teams ahead of the Sox at 5 over .500, or better.
  22. Sale is awesome and coming into his prime. Hopefully this is the year he put everything together...33 starts, 230+ innings, ERA under 2.80, Win A Cy.
  23. 14 wins in 17 starts. 16 left. 23-25 seems probable.
