  1. The timing of this is curious for sure. Gotta admit, kinda want him traded just to see what they found acceptable.
  2. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 09:10 AM) If Mazara isn't in a deal for Sale, what is the point? Agree with that. At this point, it looks like Quintana is getting traded if they hear the right thing, and a few other guys. Sale is too valuable to move right now.
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 10:44 PM) ... but didn't we win 3 out of 4 that series? Not like we were avoiding a sweep with the Duke game It was looking close at that point, and if they would have lost, the mojo of the series could have been different.
  4. 23-10 23-40 The 2016 White Sox- ruining hot starts forever.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 10:32 PM) How much do you think Robin wishes he could go home? I'd Duke didn't pitch out of bases loaded nobody out in Boston, I wonder if Robin would have made it past that series.
  6. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 08:13 AM) I don't understand how there isn't any smoke to Robin being fired. There was some rumors a month ago when the Sox were possibly still in it, now they are sellers and nothing? I honestly think that he will resign at some point. Fits his narrative of being lukewarm about the job in the first place and the Sox being too loyal to can someone. It would nice if they fired Robin now and let Renteria be the interim. But now we're on the verge of the Cubs series week and the trade deadline. There's a lot going on, and it would add to the distractions. Maybe in a couple weeks, they just let Robin know he won't be renewed and he chooses to resign...but probably not. The bigger issue with the coaching staff is that it has to be a full gutting after this season, and that means Don Cooper has to leave the organization no matter what. No half measures.
  7. A 2-1 game in the 7th should be a game that can be suspended if the teams are playing the next day. Rules need to be looked at again. Anyway, if the Sox lose tonight, they go 23-10, then 23-40.
  8. This is going to be a couple hours. There should be more rules built in to resume games the next day if you're playing the same team. There should always be an effort to play 9 innings when the score is close.

    http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20160721 Fisher is back.
  10. Maybe 30 min before a long delay.
  11. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 08:37 PM) For once I'm disappointed Hawk isn't calling the game. He would go down there and check on Lawrie. Nice one. Barstool dude thinks if he was traded we would know by now.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 06:29 PM) Nothing he's saying would complicate anything. It's the equivelant of saying "sox open to trading!" For now. He seems to be chomping at the bit to say something tomorrow. It's going to be a long 11 days.
  13. I'm totally cool with this Barstool dude just shutting up until something is done and about to be announced. We've heard how things get out and messed up deals before.
  14. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 12:08 PM) The misery is that Q and Sale will be gone, to be honest. Sale's on a HoF track and Q's the type that could pitch for a long time and be an all-time Sox pitcher. It'd just suck. The thing is, you never know with pitchers when it comes to a crashing halt. Sale could stay healthy to his late 30's and go to the Hall, and that would be great. But there are no guarantees with that, and he certainly may sign elsewhere for 2020 and beyond. If he's not here to pitch for winning White Sox teams, they should listen on moving him at some point. For Quintana, sell high. Get a haul now.
  15. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 11:42 AM) They'll just never learn. We have BOTH starters pitching well with atleast one team in desperate need, and two more requiring a front line starter. If Quintana or Sale become injured after this year (which i understand is the risk with any player) and we ultimately get nothing as a result, it will be one of the greatest failures of the Hahn regime. Please, let's be smart and sell high for once. It's so obvious the Sox should tear it down over the next 6 months. I hope they realize that.
  16. To put the tag "untouchable" on Eaton is foolish. Nobody has a gun to the Sox head to trade anyone, but they should listen, and again, be thinking solely about 2019 and beyond.
  17. A 20-year-old with a 4 ERA in high-A....doesn't make sense to move him to Birmingham on the surface, but let's see what he does with 8 starts at AA.
  18. Hopefully whatever they do from this point forward is with 2019 and beyond in mind. Punt on 2016-2018 as far as winning because it's not happening either way. Get a pool of young talent, get high draft picks and smart international signings the next few years, and be in a position for sustained winning at least by 2020. If that means trading both Sale and Quintana right now, do it. It doesn't mean they have to trade them now, but Sale and Quintana are never pitching in the playoffs for the Sox. If/when they get a proposal that makes sense, move them and anyone else that isn't going to be part of the 2020 team.

Please no Puig. Ever. Should be an interesting 12 days. The Sox could definitely do a lot if they choose.

Bring up Burdi's 10+ ERA immediately.
  21. Sox went 17-16 on the road vs the AL East and West this season. Would have taken it before the season started. Weird, bad team.
  22. QUOTE (Scoots @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 07:42 AM) A nice 10 game win streak would put the team right in the thick of it...that would be so nice. You know what would come after nine more wins in a row? A loss. That would bring the Sox to 55-48, with 59 games left, mostly against teams they can't beat. Root for whatever you want because it doesn't matter, but this season is done.
  23. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 06:58 AM) Garry Marshall, 81 I saw him on TV recently and knew he was at the end. Sad. If you have Netflix, watch the Albert Brooks movie, Lost in America. He had a great scene in that movie.
  24. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 01:13 AM) Oh joy. We're back to .500. Not yet. 46-47. Felix comes off the DL today.
  25. I'm big on pitchers staying in when it's 1-0. At 3-0, Robertson should have got the save. It's his fault alone this time.
