White Sox @ Mariners 9:10PM CSN
The Win stat makes this bad for Sale, but losses are good right before the deadline. f***ing sell, idiots.
-
7/18 Games
Danish 5 innings, 1 run, 0 walks 3 k's against a team that's 60-35. Not bad.

Chris Sale to Astros potential package?
Derosa predicted before the season that the Astros are going to go out and get a pitcher- he predicted Sale or Gray back then. That's all. Nothing to see here.

What to do at the Trade Deadline
I hope they know they're out of it this season, so either they're trading to compete in 2017, or starting a full blown rebuild. Obviously we know the more likely option for a Reinsdorf team.

The Second Wildcard
Blue Jays hold the second wildcard, on pace for 89 wins. Remaining records for 88 wins: Cle 34-37 Tex 33-36 Bal 35-37 ---------- Bos 37-35 Tor 36-32 Hou 38-32 Det 40-30 ---------- Maybe you give the Tigers an outside shot, but then you have the pretenders: KC 42-29 Sea 42-28 Sox 43-28 NY 43-28

The Second Wildcard
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 09:36 AM) Next two weeks: Bos 44-37 -- 3 vs Tex, 3 vs TB, 3 at NY Det 44-38 -- 3 at Cle, 4 at Tor, 3 vs KC Tor 45-39 -- 3 vs KC, 4 vs Det, 3 at Oak KC 43-38 -- 3 at Tor, 4 vs Sea, 3 at Det Hou 43-39 -- 3 vs Sea, 4 vs Oak, 3 at Sea Sea 43-39 -- 3 at Hou, 4 at KC, 3 vs Hou Sox 42-40 -- 3 vs NY, 3 vs Atl, 3 at LAA A lot of head-to-head where teams can go 5-5, while the Sox can go 7-2. Could look good in a couple weeks if the Sox handle their business. Astros and Blue Jays won again today. A review of the last two weeks: Red Sox 7-2 Astros 7-3 Blue Jays 7-3 Tigers 4-6 White Sox 3-6 Royals 3-7 Mariners 3-7 Good teams win. Bad teams lose. Profound, I know.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 05:13 PM) Ventura is the worst at arguing with umpires. At least show a little passion in that part of the game please. Low on the list of complaints. Actually, not on the list.

QUOTE (Insp @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 05:10 PM) You must hate him to compare him to Alexei like that. Alexei was good for a while. Anderson in his 20s should be a fun player. Just not a leadoff guy.

I'm trying to figure out Tim Anderson and what kind of player he's going to be over the next 10 years. To me, he's definitely not our Correa or Lindor or Bogaerts. To me, he's Alexei only starting at age 23.

With Narvaez, Turner, and Fulmer playing today, the Sox have had 22 players this season play their first game with the Sox. That's a lot, and it's only July.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 04:10 PM) I am not going to argue with folks with closed minds or those who can't appreciate how hard this game us. It's one thing to complain or bevuoset, I get that we all are, but be realistic about our options. I like all you guys but negative thoughts and comments and the constant bit**ing does nothing but promote more negativity It's called being realistic and trying to come up with constructive thoughts about modern baseball. The Sox aren't playing modern baseball and it's frustrating. Just putting a smile on our faces and hoping they win today's game is for some people, and that's fine. But you need to let people vent. This isn't a contest to see who can be the biggest homer and loyal to the Sox.

Hahn may have to go, but if you're not saying Kenny has to go too, you need to amend.

The Mariners are a bigger opponent for Sale to face, and his schedule sets up to be heavy against the Tigers and Royals.
