Spring Training Cuts thread
https://twitter.com/MLBBruceLevine/status/713029870507298816 More cuts coming today. Just curious, do we know if Scott Hairston ever made it to minor league camp? If he's there, I would've thought he'd come up for an A game once in a while.

3/23 vs Padres
Lock in Danks for 195 innings and a 16-16 team record right now, we'll take it.

3/23 vs Padres
Nice play by Avi going into the gap for a backhander. Danks looks ok, the little I've seen.

If Eaton is growing out his beard as some type of silent protest about LaRoche, that would be extremely douchey.

White Sox sign RHP Chris Volstad to MiLB deal
This must be new, because there is nothing on Twitter. The Braves released him about 10 days ago.

Peavy starting today, with Gillaspie in the lineup. Also, hope Stone learns how to say Frazier before opening day.

Johnson, Guerrero, and Sanchez for Cargo and cash. This is probably terrible.

Johnson won't be in the Sox organization much longer, in my opinion.

2016 White Sox Opening Day Roster Predictions
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 21, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) I totally forgot about Kahnle. I feel like if they acquire a LHH, they should keep Sands still and release Shuck. Sands hits very well vs LHP and can play 1B. Shuck has reverse splits, isn't that great, and would be unnecessary to keep if they acquire another LHB. Maybe I'm wrong about Shuck-I dunno. But here's what I got: Lineup (maybe not exactly) Eaton, Rollins, Abreu, Frazier, Cabrera, Garcia, Lawrie, Avila, Jackson Bench Saladino, Navarro, Shuck, Sands Rotation Sale, Quintana, Rodon, Latos, Danks Bullpen Albers, Jennings, Petricka, Putnam, Duke, Jones, Robertson Players that still need to be cut- Aumont, Carroll, Danish, Fulmer, Johnson, Kahnle, Lollis, Purke, Turner H Sanchez, Anderson, Davidson, L Garcia, Ishikawa, Lombardozzi, C Sanchez, Coats, May

2016 White Sox Opening Day Roster Predictions
Shuck is a lock right now. He was pretty solid last year, and hasn't done anything to knock him off the roster. Sanchez is probably going back to AAA, barring a trade. It's down to Sands or Ishikawa if they don't make any other moves---but I do think they have one more in them this week. A trade could include Petricka or Putnam, which would bring a guy to the OD roster that profiles more of a long reliever-- Carroll, Johnson, or Turner. A couple other guys that still have life--Leury and Lombardozzi.

Misc. Sox Quotes & Tweets
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 20, 2016 -> 03:16 PM) Scott Merkin @scottmerkin 10m10 minutes ago Scottsdale, AZ Two notes from this a.m.: Robin said the 25th guy on the roster doesn't have to be a first baseman and 13 pitchers has been discussed One thing that could impact the number of pitchers is weather. It's not likely, but if there is a rainout for Wednesday's game, they'll have to play a doubleheader on Thursday without a 26th man. There are no good days to go back to Oakland to make it up. Not likely, but they have to think about those things ahead of time.

Might as well start calling it 38 since Rollins will be added. I think it's more a matter of circumstance than a sign a move is about to happen. If they make a trade, it's more likely at least one or two guys on the 40-man will go too.

Adam LaRoche retires
I think the next big Sox story is a rift between Hahn and Kenny. Rick can only say "Kenny is my boss" for so long.
-
Adam LaRoche retires
https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/711602130637955072 Probably won't be much of a problem since this was such an outlandish request from a player to begin with--and for the Sox to go along with it was dumb too. Common sense was lost with everybody involved.

Odds that Chris Sale gets traded?
It's a wait-and-see how the first couple months go, but it would be silly to think any trades would happen now because of this incident. Things will calm down. And if they don't calm down, they may envision a good future rotation with Rodon, Fulmer, Quintana, Adams, and a guy they draft in June. They aren't there yet.
