  1. The Sox need to get Anderson to the big leagues and have him be an impact player. That's for sure. The skepticism is totally warranted, however.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 23, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) I'm sure he'll inspire all of us With that said, any updates would be appreciated WLS does a good job getting the podcasts up quick. http://www.wlsam.com/white-sox-weekly-radio-podcast/
  3. I wasn't a fan of McKnight at the Score, but I'm willing to hit the reset button. He hosts White Sox Weekly today at noon. Ventura on after the 12:30 update.
  4. Short of giving him 5/110 of guaranteed money, the Sox probably didn't have much of a chance after the Mets entered the picture. I'm glad he's not coming to the Sox. I think Jackson and Desmond on short term contracts have a chance to work out. Bring in hungry, high character guys and hope they and some other guys (Cabrera and LaRoche) can bounce back while Eaton, Frazier and Abreu can put up All-Star seasons. The Sox probably aren't making the playoffs this year, but if they're trying to re-create 2005 in 2016, they would at least have a shot with a couple more veterans.
  5. Hard Art and Paulie are ready. https://twitter.com/camelbackranch/status/690929558137102336 First full squad a month from today.
  6. I'm not going to read that article because this comes up once in a while. The Roberto Clemente Award is prestigious. It gets plenty of attention, and has for decades. It's a great thing to carry on his legacy. There's no need to retire another number in baseball. 42 represents more than just Baseball. It represents a huge move forward for the country. Leave it at that.
  7. That's why they're saying he's flexible in moving to the OF. If he can also play other infield positions and LF, his market may be stronger.
  8. 3 mil with a 4 mil option or 1 mil buyout. Sox just didn't want him back.
  9. Patiently waiting for Bob Nightengale to say something...
  10. Game times came out today. 25 of the first 58 are day games. Good luck with that.
  11. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 06:43 PM) He tweeted this earlier: ‏@JustinLevineVAV 25m25 minutes ago DEVELOPING: Washington @Nationals aggressively pursuing free agent outfielder Yoenis Cespedes. Stay tuned for more! Great. Another pimple faced "insider".
  12. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 06:39 PM) Why not 4 year 88 mil, with two opt out years? I'd be hopeful, but expecting it to be a terrible contract for the Sox. If he has an offer out there for 4+ years, I hope he takes it one of these days.
  13. He's a typical east coast prick. Whattaya gonna do?
  14. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 10:32 AM) No chance they will go to 6 years on Cespedes and they shouldn't. That's too long of a commitment. Agreed, unless there is some bizarro contract structure that protects both sides somehow. The Sox have been known to be creative. I just hope he signs somewhere very soon...like today.
  15. I'm in the minority, but I don't want Cespedes because he's not going to matter anyway.
  16. I'm going with Austin Jackson signing, and the Sox trading Garcia sometime in the next 10 days.
  17. Right on cue... https://twitter.com/BNightengale
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 06:36 PM) Sanchez returned to his Winter League team. https://twitter.com/philgrogers/status/688396389320159232 I'm a Carlos Sanchez fan. He's still young.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 10:26 AM) Gulp.... https://mobile.twitter.com/masnRoch/status/...387617805709312 Then good luck to him. Now that Davis is signed, there should be clarity in the market for Cespedes. It's on him and his agency to get the best offers now, and pick one. And if the Sox don't match up, so be it. They have other options that will still be better than Garcia. Mostly, I think fans want Cespedes just because it feels like a win and it's not about what he actually brings as a player. He's good, but he's not that good...and don't discount that he could be a player that's part of the problem if things go bad in April and May. Then everyone will hate the guy and regret having him for 3-4 more years.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 10:11 AM) I just woke up and Davis going back to Baltimore is great news for the Sox! We can just about assume that they're out on Cespedes now. So who's left? The Sox, Mets, and Tigers? Anyone else? Braves and Angels have been mentioned.
