QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 14, 2015 -> 12:09 PM) What do you base this on? I think Rick Hahn is a smart guy, but if he took a job to be a puppet for KW and JR, that would make him not so smart. I don't understand how so many conclude Hahn wants to always do the right thing but is constantly overruled. That type of thinking is very naïve and Greensox would correctly classify it as hero worshipping. There is no doubt in my mind Parent's contract expiration made him the fall guy. Parent got let go because his contract was up, but I believe Reinsdorf doesn't want to pay for two managers and sets of coaches. We'll see how much changes in June if the Sox are out of it. Like I said, I choose to believe Hahn would have made more coaching staff changes if he had the choice. Complete speculation on my part because I think he's smart. Not hero worship. Far from it. Just think his hands are tied. I'm sure you disagree, so say more horses***...

QUOTE (Dunt @ Oct 14, 2015 -> 11:55 AM) Man, and Ventura gets a free pass. This FO truly is retarded. I choose to believe it goes right to the top with Reinsdorf. I think Hahn would have cleaned house if he could have.

Just my humble opinion... If the Blue Jays win this game, they win the World Series. If the Rangers win this game, the Cubs win the World Series. But, it's baseball...

It would be a good move for Alomar, and his best shot at managing. If the Sox fall out of it by June, Alomar would at least be a natural choice for an interim manager and have a few months to be evaluated.

I'd be shocked if the Cubs lose tomorrow. They seem to have the Kavorka this year.

It's looking like no sweeps in the DS this year. That's good for baseball, I guess.

Harold Reynolds is such a turn off. Literally. I turned it off.

QUOTE (shysocks @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 09:16 AM) Pete Rose made a bunch of dumbs*** comments during the KC-HOU broadcast about Donaldson getting a bump on the head and having to leave the game, "he's the MVP??", he passed the concussion test so (in d-bag tone) "he'll be fine", how Rose had about 15 concussions when he played and he kept going out there, blah blah blah. Yeah asshole, you also messed up a guy's career by colliding with him in an exhibition game. You're the King of Toughness, we get it. Why do networks keep letting these idiots on TV? I like Frank, but I refuse to watch a panel with Pete Rose on it. No surprise he's saying ridiculous things.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 01:22 PM) Just a few years ago the Cubs would be playing golf right now. A few decades ago both the Cubs and Pirates would be out. Neither team won their division but yet they are still getting a shot at making the playoffs. 12 times the White Sox have won 90 or more games and missed the playoffs. How different would our history be if they had one final shot at the end of the season to advance? There have been things about the playoff system that have been unfair. When they went to three divisions, plus a wildcard, it almost was better because it protected the wildcard team in the event they were the second best team in the league. It was still bad, but almost more acceptable Once they went to five of fifteen getting in, divisions are no longer needed at all. Play a more balanced schedule, top 3 get in, 4 and 5 play one game to get in. Pretty simpe solution to all of this nonsense. I know people will play the travel card, or complain about a handful of extra games on the west coast, but sometimes every other option is too stupid to keep doing. This is where MLB is right now. It's too stupid to keep it the way it is.

Adrian Nieto outrighted to Birmingham Junior Guerra claimed by Brewers

I'm just assuming Arrieta does his thing and the Cubs move on to the Cardinals. On an intellectual level, I'll feel sorry for the team that loses tonight because I think the system in baseball isn't just unfair--it's wrong.

The Sox used the fewest amount of players this year in the majors--40 (21 pitchers). The next lowest amount were the Twins and Nationals at 44. The average major league team used 49.5 total players, and 26.2 pitchers (not including position players getting an inning). Too bad they didn't convert on a season with relatively good health. BTW, 23 position players in the majors pitched this season. That used to be very rare. Of course the Sox led the league with 3- Alexei, Laroche, and Leury.

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 03:26 PM) What about someone like Matt Vasgersian? I like him as an announcer, although I doubt that he'll move from the FOX broadcasts to the Sox ones. Was going to mention him since I would definitely want him. He probably wouldn't leave MLB Network or his other game calling for the Sox, especially part time.

Think they'd have Farmer do TV at home, and Rongey do radio? That would be white sox-y.

QUOTE (Soxfan90 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 12:20 PM) That's odd. Yankees could use CC for the playoffs. That could be a huge blow for the ALDS+ if they beat the Astros on Tuesday. Why couldn't he wait until after? When it's time to go, you gotta go. Also, he himself may have thought about that too, and we just don't know how he's acting with his team and family. Good for him for going.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 11:51 AM) Question is: why the f*** would you live in Granger, IN? I think his daughter lives near there, and he wants to be close to the grandkids. Which is nice, but stay there, man. You're 74. Enjoy your retirement.
