  2. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) And some of you guys were sending Tryce/EK/Avi to A's. Let Rick Hahn do his job. Who's to say it didn't hurt giving up Erwin?
  3. Well, at least we won't have to hear the local media mispronounce Wendelken for the next 5 years. ...but Lawrie is like Laurie.
  4. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:10 PM) The Shuck stuff came from a fake account Ok, good. It was funny to see that because the thought crossed my mind they could move him and just keep Cabrera, Thompson, Garcia and Eaton, and not really need JB.
  5. QUOTE (bjm676 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) Jon Heyman ‏@J0NHeymanCBS 2m2 minutes ago JB Shuck is in the Brett Lawrie deal I had a feeling he could be moved in as a throw in this winter.
  6. Ok, here we go...original guess - Guerrero and May. It'll be something else.
  7. Where's a juicy 3-way trade when you need one?
  8. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 06:48 PM) Agree. For me he has to go for at least a guy with 3 years of control. Or pad it with something else that's good.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) There are going to be some grumpy people on here if nothing gets done before the meetings end. It's just fun to talk about actual moves rather than debating armchair GM stuff. It would be unfortunate, but there's still a lot of offseason left.
  10. These Winter Meetings have been a giant turd...so far.
  11. No doubt, back in June we'd probably shrug at Trayce Thompson getting traded. But the team (not just fans) actually saw him play for a couple months...and very well. They drafted an athlete, and it took him a while to develop. He's a smart kid with a great pedigree. For a team that is defensively challenged, it would be pretty surprising if he was involved in a Brett Lawrie trade. I think Thompson will be in CF or RF on opening day in Oakland...playing for the White Sox.
  12. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:03 AM) Is the "two minor league relievers" rumor busted? Gotta think multiple scenarios are on the table.
  13. I just can't see Trayce being part of this particular trade. I think they really like what they saw, and want his plus defense.
  14. This thread is the equivalent of a watched pot not boiling. Hope something real gets done this morning. Avi being gone would be a positive.
  15. I'll guess Jordan Guerrero and Jacob May. On the personal stuff with Lawrie, as long as he isn't a roider or treat people bad, the Sox could use a guy with a little edge.
  16. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 08:03 PM) ATL got a great package for Miller, but the Sox are better off waiting until next offseason before consider moving Quintana or Sale IMO. The free agent market is significantly worse next year and these guys will still have three & four years of control respectively. Plus we'll have a much better idea where we stand in a year (does Rodon take that next step, are guys like Anderson/Fulmer legit pieces) and dead weight off our roster (LaRoche/Danks). I don't disagree with you, but in the case of Quintana, I would hope they are at least listening. Sale, I get it. Too hard to trade. If Quintana could get back a couple all-star upside bats now, you do it.
  17. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 08:01 PM) Is that haul confirmed? I don't believe it http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/diam...ler-braves.html
  18. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 07:53 PM) White Sox still working on their options on Day 2 of the winter meetings. Last year on Day 2, they acquired Samardzija, Robertson. https://twitter.com/ESPNChiSox/status/674405593575108608 Exciting stuff.
  19. All of this is making me wonder what the Sox have turned down for Quintana, if he's being discussed.
  20. Wow. I'm digging the recent draft picks getting moved. Glad that's allowed now.
  21. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 07:25 PM) Damn, AZ is looking really good! Good for them and f*** the Dodgers! Let's see how the Dodgers respond, because they have to. Seems like the Cueto market has been very quiet since he turned down Arizona's offer.

  23. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 11:37 AM) I say GO FOR IT too. How many times in life are you going to have Sale/Quintan/Rodon at the head of a rotation? Well, let's see...2016, 2017, 2018, 2019. I just hope they don't do anything for 2016 that will fall short and also hurt them for the other years.
