  1. 3 more outs for the Mariners to get. That would leave it at a Mariners win or a Sox loss tomorrow to get the 10th pick. Padres and Tigers have guaranteed 8 and 9 in some order.
  2. Fun fact: Astros are 70-72 vs American League teams this season.
  3. One day left: AL West Tex 87-74 Hou 86-75 AL 2nd Wildcard Hou 86-75 LAA 85-76 Guaranteed baseball on Monday, I'm pretty sure.
  4. Mariners take the lead 5-4 in the 6th. Padres lost, which means the Sox will be 10th or 11th in the draft next June.
  5. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 09:31 PM) Wait the sox lost a top 10 pick by winning tonight. They needed to match the Mariners the final two games to stay at 10. Sox have already won. Mariners trailing 4-3 in the 5th.
  6. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 09:30 PM) praying for a seattle loss You mean win, but yes. I just wanted the best pick possible with the most options. They kinda blew it tonight.
  7. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 09:28 PM) I never understood why people cheer for their own team to lose. I mean I understand why they do, as it will benefit the team in the long run, but it just feels wrong. Because the season is almost over and these guys playing in the 9th inning will be distant memories in a couple years.
  8. With the 11th pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, the Chicago White Sox select....
  9. I seriously would like to know if Hahn is thinking about draft position this second.
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 08:50 PM) His career Sox ERA is 3.83... that's so much worse than I thought. 2006 is probably skewing that number though. The hitting environment was a little better early in his career too. 2001-2005, he was pretty awesome. And obviously still very good after that.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 08:41 PM) Would be sweet if he was traded to us for tomorrow's game. The thought crossed my mind, but what if they needed him if a starter got hurt? Plus, he's still their teammate. I'm sure they'll do the ceremonial final contract stuff, and there will be a new statue going up next year. Man, I respect that guy. What a competitor, and just a normal dude.
  12. Well, this certainly changes my rooting interest for the postseason.
  13. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 07:53 PM) Hoping the Sox lose this and the next game. Need that top 10 pick! They'll be 11th because, you know, they suck at everything.
  14. Scherzer second no-hitter this season in the books.
  15. QUOTE (daggins @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 08:19 PM) Guys, I think Mark's arm will probably fall off soon. Let the man retire. His arm must be shot...probably has been for a while.
  16. Scherzer taking another no hitter to the 9th. That guy is incredible.
  17. Swirsky tonight. Hawk testing out missing more games. Retire, Grandpa.
  18. Good there will be at least a couple of important games tomorrow. Starting all of the games at 2:10 central tomorrow was a good idea.
  19. Great point. https://twitter.com/jaysonst/status/650415464254836736
