I’m not going to deny that the roster construction of this team is awful. But if they re-sign 36 yr old Jose Abreu over trading 25 yr old Andrew Vaughn, they are the dumbest fucking team in baseball. Eloy needs to DH. Vaughn needs to play first base. That part isn’t difficult to figure out. The rest, I’ll leave it up to the “experts”.

I’ll go with Sox 2-1, Cle 3-2 Still three back when the series starts. Hopefully Cease is on, and then Cleveland starts feeling the pressure, and the Sox somehow sweep and get the tiebreaker.

I think going into today, Cleveland would have taken 5-4 with at least one win against both the Twins and Sox to clinch tiebreakers against each. And chances are they’ll get there. Sad, but true. But we’ll see how the next week goes.

DVS- Civale rehab start tonight and will face Cease next week if cleared.

Min and Cle are playing 5. Two Saturday and Monday afternoon. Probably best realistic outcome is 2-3 for Cle and Sox sweep the Tigers. Then Cease beats the Guardians on Tuesday. Both teams 78-70 with 14 left.

Guardians play 6 home games in the next 100 hours or so. At that point, the three AL Central contenders will have 15 games left, and the math will be real easy. And chances are, we won’t care by Monday afternoon, ha.
