Today's Game
Thanks alot cluj. I am at work during the day and being able to see these reports when I get home is great. I can get a much better feel for what happened in the game this way instead of just looking at box scores.

Holy shitballs!
The players union will not tolorate any player having a mind of their own unless said player completly supports the unions philosophy.

Bench
Exactly, we do not NEED a third catcher. A veteran and a rookie are enough to keep us going. Hopefully, its gonna be Rios, Graffanino, Daubach, Alomar, and Harris/Miles. An extra infielder is alot more useful than a catcher thats gonna catch probably once every two weeks. the thrid catcher is a wasted spot..unless of course one of your atchers is named sandy alomar...wtf was KW thinking here???....sandy was great in his day but god dammit we know he will go on the DL and because of that he have to carry an extra player that sux...the best move would be if sandy went on the DL during ST..he could then act as a bench coach to MO and we keep paul as the 2nd catcher so we dont lose him to another team.. we cant let paul go to another team..then have sandy go on the DL and its olivo and burke as the catchers...that would precipitate a mid season trade for a back up catcher and would cost an arm and a leg... Put Paul on waivers and send him down, if he gets claimed so be it. If Alomar goes on the Dl for an extended period of time we will have to make a trade anyway. I know I would not want to see Paul as the regular backup,he sucks defensively and doesn't have much of a bat either.

Buehrle renewed
Well it looks like kw will have a brand new excuse for not spending any money next year now that he doesn't have any cost certainty. It will probably go something like this, How can I spend a dollar when I'm not sure if i have 50 cents or a quarter.

Buehrle renewed
The last two years were option years. I think if the fourth year was gaurenteed it would have been a done deal. Although it looks like Marks agent may have been set on Mark going year by year.

Buehrle renewed
This is part of what I read. The White Sox mlb board has more on the story though.

Bench
Paul should not make this team. A third catcher is a waste of a bench spot. I hope that team management will realize this.

Buehrle renewed
I really hope so. It really sucks to see that it came so close but didn't happen. When it's that close things should get done.

Buehrle renewed
Ok it looks like this was the deal, 3 years 11.5 million with an option for 2006 at 7 million which would automatically kick in if Mark pitched 200 innings in 2005 and a 10 million option for 2007. So it looks like this probably could have been done if the sox would have just made the fourth year gaurenteed.

Buehrle renewed
It is from the wire section on their mlb page I wish I knew how to post a link but I'm a computer idiot.

Buehrle renewed
Yeah at this point I have to assume that it is a typo or something, he would be crazy to turn down a deal like that in my opinion.

Buehrle renewed
I am not sure if someone has already posted this but I just read on ESPN.com that Buehrle has been renewed at $445,000 after turning down a 5 year 27 million dollar deal. If this is true I have to ask what was mark thinking.

Roster Cuts
I say put paul on waivers, if he doesn't clear so what it's no big loss. burke and or the other guy we got can be called up in the event of an injury and a trade could be made if the injury is serious. I wouldn't want to see paul as the everyday backup anyway and it doesn't make any sense to waste a spot on the bench for a guy who is only going to play in case of injury, thats what journeyman minor leaguers are for.

Robin Ventura
I seem to recall that when ozzie guillen left he said Robin had some problems with manageent and wanted to leave. I wish we could have kept him he was my favorite sox player while he was here and it really hurts to see with the yankees.

Joe Crede
I don't think Crede will be spectacular but he will be solid, probably putting up numbers similar to eric hinske's numbers last year.

Save Conditions?
I allways just figured that the tie goes to the runner was just some bulls*** expression that announcers used just so they could be saying something.

Who's this guy
Man I hope Madritsch can eventually get to the majors It would be awesome to see another Goldeye playing in the big leagues.

Which Mark?
Has anyone heard anything about prior's mental make up. I am just asking because no matter how good your stuff is chances are that at some point in the season it will fail you for a while. Is he the type that should be able to overcome this and get through a stretch without his best stuff come back strong or could it mess with him and cause him to lose his composure. Buehrle has proven that he has a great mental make up and awesome poise on the mound, very similar to maddux or glavine. Baring injury Buehrle's career should look quite similar to those two and I would take that any day of the week.

THE TRUTH OF 1919
Then please for the love of God stop praising Comiskey. It seems odd to me that the stolen grand jury testimony of the players suddenly turned up in Comiskey's lawer's briefcase several years later and Comiskey had guilty knowledge too.

What about me
1. Disagree. My reading shows that Jackson took money. These guys were banned because they conspired to throw the World Series and were on the take from gamblers. There does not need to be any other reason than that. (And Cubkilla, it is not what you you, it is when you hit it, and it is also how you play defense - being a step slow, the throw being a tad off and slow, etc. You know that these things cannot be "proved" now with all the participants dead. But the suspicions arose at the time by the people who saw the Sox suddenly play like bush leaguers and in a a few games suddenly turn it back on again. It was obvious to those who saw it.) 2. And this puts me in the odd position of disagreeing with you not only once, but also twice. Veeck may have been the most fun owner ever but it was hardly the best. In both of his tenures with the Sox he traded away our future and had all kinds of questionable trades. Call it being uncapitalized, call it being a riverboat gambler, call it having a very short attention span - his periods of ownership were (mercifully) brief, he always felt compelled to go on and do something different, but he left us depleted both times. I know that this is a fine line but I think that there is a difference between taking money and being given money that you didn't want, which is what happend to Joe. Joe is only problem was guilty knowledge and even that is debateable.

What about me
Frank is great but Shoeless Joe was the Greatest player to ever wear a White Sox uniform. f*** Shoeless. Do the s*** he did and youre not even worthy of sucking a goats dick. He f***ed us over for nearly a century. f*** him! :fyou :fyou :fyou The only things that Joe did wrong was that he had knowledge of the fix and suposedly didn't tell anybody, although there is some evidence that he tried to tell Charles Comiskey but Comiskey wouldn't talk to him because he was already working on a cover up and he felt Joe wasn't bright enough to help. The other thing he did wrong was not knowing what to do with the money that was given to him for the fix and keeping it, however he was told to keep it by Comiskey's representatives and there is evidence that he never spent the money. If the old roman wasn't such a cheap prick that scandel never would have happend.

baseball related just not sox......
If you go to a game when they play the Winnipeg Goldeyes you might be able to see three famous sons if the Goldeyes can resign Pete Rose Jr.
