The thing that is most appealing about Willie, besides his speed, is that he is cheap. We are going to need cheap players who perform well for us, to compensate for some of our bloated contracts.

I think we shold give Willie a shot at second base. I agree, but I also beleive he should be on a very short leash. I'd give him spring training, and then if he plays okay in ST, I'd give him a month to show something.

I already see that being a struggle, that Oz keeps putting Willie in, and Willie consitentily hits .170. Lets hope for the best, and Willie becomes a break out. Does this mean that we wont be getting the FA 2B??? I think we shold give Willie a shot at second base.

Um, Cedeno makes about a million less than Koch, and has an extra year on his contract. Cedeno also is awful in the field. I would not do the trade straight up, however I would do it with cash and prospects included.

Yep, long reliever on Tigers. Fell out of the rotation IIFC. I saw him pitch last year at one of the games I went to, I would take him for the minimum, sign him to a minor league deal, I would never trade for him.

99% sure Pedro get's $17 million, to Magglio's $14 million. Why would the BoSox trade Magglio for Pedro anyways? Wreck their rotation, plus take a position away from Trot Nixon (Manny as LF, Damon as CF, Maggs as RF, Ortiz as DH, Millar as 1B, Trot as s*** out of luck). No way that deal straight up is even considered.

Would you think about how we are going to pay him? Well if he was willing to just play for a winner and come in rather cheap, I'd say it would be a great move. Don't know how willing he'd be to take a big paycut, but it would be worth Kenny making the phone call, imo. Thats if he can unload Konerko. He turned down the chance to join the Cubs in a pennant race.... He seems a mite picky. Sorry, no Palmiero, I want no part in him.

Terrance Long, that's classic. There is good reason to not designate an award for each OF position; LF is where the weaker armed and not as good defensively play.

Good to hear I am not the only one that thinks Franco would be an awful idea. He pitched half a season in the past two years or so. He got rocked when he pitched this year. I'd rather take a shot on Jiminez.
