Ummmm, the Bears are 1-3, they've only played 4 games. I don't know how the hell they could be 0-5 with a loss to the Pack. Someone really knows their s***. And I would also take your bet that the Bears make it back to the playoffs before the pack. I think the Bears could still finish 3rd in the North even with all the injuries ahead of the Pack.

mmm, that looks like some serious crockpot type s***. I wish my mom could still cook for me at college.

***NEWSFLASH*** World Peace Can't Be Stopped!!!

The anticipation mounts.

I knew that, it was just a typo. My apologies to all of y'all.

Okay, so here's a summary of what you think: 1) I'm insane. 2) An average baseball fan will watch the ALCS, not the World Series, because the Yankees/Red Sox are in it. 3)Everyone, anywhere wanted a Yankees/Red Sox ALCS. Here's a summary of what I think 1)I am indeed perfectly sane. 2)A bandwagon Red Sox or Yankee fan, there's lots of them, will watch the ALCS, not the World Series, because the Yankees/Red Sox are in it. However, a true baseball fan will watch both the ALCS and the World Series no matter who is in it. 3)I, along with many other people, was cheering for the Twins and Angels.
-
But your "average" baseball fan won't tune into the World Series, which decides who is the champion?
-
I'm not saying "all" fans, I said "most". Just like "most" Cub fans are bandwagon fans.
-
umm, okay. Then what is the explanation for why the ALCS will get higher ratings than the World Series?
-
I was referring to the majority of Yankee/Red Sox fans, not zero and wsf. I meant that once whichever team is eliminated from the ALCS, most of that teams bandwagon fans won't bother to watch the world series. Just clearing that up.

I should have been more specific as I was referring to our farm system. We have Sweeney and Anderson who more than likely one of the two should pan out. I am not sure, but I don't think we have any stud first basemen in our minors to fill the hole long term. Obviously I'm looking down the road and I'm assuming that we would get another OF via trade or free agency to fill that hole for next year. Plus I don't have faith in Gload playing everyday. Keep him on the bench, he's a great role player not a starting first baseman.
-
That's what's wrong. Most of these fans aren't fans of baseball, they're fans of their teams, so they won't watch after their team is eliminated. The season is over for them, so they don't care anymore. f***ing morons.

Dude, you mentioned how the sox would be crazy to trade Lee before Konerko because Lee was younger as one of your reasons. Then when someone called you out on the fact that Lee is in fact 3 months younger than Konerko you gave him the old. "he's still younger ". Keep that up and keep complaining about people ganging up on you and you'll gain a lot of respect around here. It's a message board, people aren't going to agree with everything you have to say, grow some thicker skin.

Sugar Bowl, should have been a Rose Bowl though, that would've been sweet. I know there's so many bowls people can't keep track of them anymore.

If Turner isn't gone after this year, if it continues to go this bad, I don't know what it would take to be fired.

Interesting article, and I like what most of it says. I wanna see who can emerge as everyday players out of Uribe, Crede, and Harris. I also like the idea of trading Carlos before Paulie because OF is an easier position to fill for us. I don't know if there are any other quality FA shortstops, but if possible I would like someone a little younger than Vizquel However, he would be a great influence on the younger guys, so I could live with that. Davis and Burke really stepped up this year considering we started with Olivo and Alomar as our 1-2. Good news all around for me.

f***, I just noticed I didn't pick a winner in the Bills-Jets game. I pick the Jets if it's not too late, sorry.

Postseason Prediction Thread
The Bones replied to DonkeyKongerko's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I believe the Division Series are only 5 games, but anyways here's my picks. ALDS Anaheim over Boston in 5 New York over Minnesota in 4 NLDS Houston over Atlanta in 3 Los Angeles over St. Louis in 4 ALCS Anaheim over New York in 5 NLCS Los Angeles over Houston in 6 World Series Los Angeles over Anaheim in 7 -
Yay, I'm not alone. I'm going with the team that everyone seems to be overlooking. That seemed to be the case with the Marlins last year and I'm thinking a Dodgers-Angels World Series would be nice.

The Hawthorne Wingos are in.

Something is seriously wrong with this story. I can not possibly see how he could make that mistake.

Happy Birthday yo!
