The Bones

For the second year in a row Paul Giamatti gets snubbed from the Best Actor category. I know Foxx will probably win anyways but Giamatti should have been in over Eastwood or Cheadle.

I was in a league last year but I don't remember which one. I'm definitely interested in being in a head-to-head live draft league.

I'm taking a class at ISU this semester called Text and Context: Baseball as Metaphor. I'm excited about this because I'm already learning more about the history of baseball and my professor has seen a lot of cool stuff over the years. I'm reading the book You Know Me Al right now, pretty good stuff. Anyone else got any good or bad things to say about their classes this semester yet?

23 days until Pitchers and Catchers report. Meanwhile, we've got the Super Bowl, Illinois, and the Bulls to keep us occupied.

I like the look of the new banner. Red and black is in again now that the Bulls are .500.

That was great. I remember turning the game on just as the second fight was going on. I used to have the Sportscenter highlights of the fight, but I doubt I have that tape anymore.

Illinois State just won 82-77 at Creighton in OT improving their record to 5-3 in the conference and 13-5 overall.

I'll be cheering for the Steelers, but for some reason I think the Pats will win in a close one.

Falcons

Illinois played their worst game of the year so far and still got the win. They proved they could still win even on a horrid shooting night. Powell and Augustine played terrible. Ingram was huge off the bench. Luther basically carried this team for a lot of the night and Dee was clutch as always. Deron's trying too hard to make flashy passes instead of taking the open shots when he has them. It seems he's lost confidence in his shot but Illinois is gonna need better performances from him down the road. Anyone know if Brian Randle is planning on playing this year or not, I haven't heard anything in a while. He would give them a huge boost off the bench.

Illinois State improved to 4-3 in the MVC and 12-5 overall with a road win over Indiana State.

Movies I've recently seen Sideways-Great movie, possibly Best Picture, though a few others are deserving, and definitely Best Actor (Paul Giamatti) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind-Up there with Sideways, Kate Winslet deserves Best Actress Saved!-The more I think about it the more I loved this movie, funny National Treasure-better than I expected going in, decent, entertaining movie Hero-I was amazed by how good this movie was, probably the best movie I've seen all year Elf-Great Christmas movie, Will Ferrell for the whole family Big Fish-One more on the list to buy, terrific movie Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events-dark kid's movie, entertaining & fun Anchorman & Dodgeball-overrated and disappointing, they were alright but not as great as most people are saying, although Anchorman has one of the funniest scenes ever with Jack Black, but that's about it Movies I want to see The Life Aquatic Closer Garden State Spanglish House of Flying Daggers
