QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 9, 2017 -> 08:12 PM) Feels like bama should be up big right now but it is only 7-0 They're up 14-0 without completing a pass past the line of scrimmage. Just insane. Also, Watson looks like he's playing scared. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 7, 2017 -> 07:34 PM) Well damn. We're in complete agreement for once. Haha, hell hath frozen over.

QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jan 7, 2017 -> 12:48 PM) If the Bulls can keep Jimmy and lose and get in the draft lottery, there are possibilities. Some of the best players in the NBA right now were picked outside of the top ten. That being said, I think you have to lose Gar to make that happen. The Spurs got their best player with a 15th overall pick. We got ours with 30th. The guy who looks to be the next best player in the NBA went 15th to Milwaukee. The problem is, Gar has shown time and time again that we will not be able to pick the guy we need. There are exceptions, obviously, but they are rare. It is much more likely you have sustained success by getting a transcendent player in the top 3-5 and building through there. Magic, Mike, (Bird would have went higher and Mchale was top 3 anyway), Isaiah, Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan, Lebron, etc. All were top 3 picks. Trading with Boston could potentially give you the number 3 pick from this past draft, another top 3 pick for this years draft, the bulls would be in the lottery on their own, as well as two lottery picks next year. I doubt it happens, but that would be my preference.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 6, 2017 -> 11:41 PM) Three teams could probably offer something that would potentially entice me to move Butler. 76er's (built around Simmons, Noel/Okafor, and their top pick), Lakers (Ingram, Russell and/or Randle, and future 1st's, or Twolves (built around Wiggins, Dunn/Lavine, and their 1st pick). I'm not saying any of those teams would make that deal, but I could see the Lakers / Philly getting a bit desperate. I'm not sure if I'd do any of these three deals, but I'd probably like Philly's the most. Lakers could get pretty desperate and their pick obviously looks really good too (in what is supposed to be a pretty strong draft...problem is, it could just as easily belong to another team depending on where they fall in the lottery). Local LA radio was talking up the Lakers going after Butler so they could get their superstar and they had Woj on and he said the Bulls would be crazy to trade Butler and their best chance to win is to built around Butler. It isn't as if he is walking anytime soon nor has he peaked / on the wrong side of 30, so as Woj put it, even if the Bulls whiffed this offseason, you still have time to get it right with Butler vs. pressing the reset button. Said it would take a ridiculous trade offer for the Bulls to move him. Celtics couldn't pull deal off in off-season, when Bulls wanted a lot more, and now they have even less asset to make deal, so sees no way they could pull deal off, without third team getting involved. I personally think Ainge whiffed by not stepping up because had he met the Bulls offer, I think Boston would have been the ultimate winners of the deal (in the sense that Butler would be huge for them). I don't think any of those teams would accept those trades. I can't see the Bulls building around Jimmy either, unless they're able to attract some top FAs, which they've never really been able to do. I really wouldn't mind a trade with the Celtics for Brown, Smart, one or two of their European players along with a bunch of picks. That's much better than what the Nuggets got for Melo IMO

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 6, 2017 -> 05:24 AM) Cavs gonna have GOAT level spacing. As the teams are currently constructed the cavs should definitely beat the Warriors in the finals. The Warriors need some sort of rim protection.

QUOTE (Deadpool @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 11:39 AM) To not do so would be a disaster for Illinois. We would never land a top recruit again if we fired Groce, leading Tilmon to demand out of his NLI, and then forbid JT from leaving. Frankly, Whitman has given every indication Groce is staying and Illinois cannot afford to pay another coach not to coach. This thread is so stereotypical Illinois fan. The program has won very little, but the fans expect them to land blue blood class recruits. Of course, when they finally do, they're unsatisfied because they don't realize that they're Illinois fans and Illinois is just not a top tier program anymore. Yeah, clearly everyone would be released from their NLI. Also, recruiting only goes so far. LSU got Ben Simmons and Antonio Blakeney last year and didn't even make the tournament. Should lsu fans like Johnny Jones? Every single Illini coach since I've started following has been able to get a 5 star/mcaa, I would expect the next to be able to do the same -

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 10:05 AM) Aren't you stuck with the one year sit out after signing the NLI? Schools release kids from their NLI if the coach is fired -

Hey now, that 2012 empty class was on Groce. Weber had the thrice transferred, isn't even good at SDSU, Michael Orris all wrapped up. -

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) No, that's not enough. If he got Wilkes too then yea sure but this class alone isn't a coach-saver. You can't be at Illinois and miss 4 tournaments in a row, unacceptable. 3 was already too many but he gets a half-pass with all the injuries last year. I'd have to think it would be easier to hire a bigger name coach this time around with the cupboard not being nearly as bare as when Weber left. I agree that Groce should be gone without a tourney appearance. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 12:57 PM) What I take from this, Illinois must have raised their bid? One can only hope. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 06:13 PM) So Tilmon signed with someone, but it's not public, and he is announcing tomorrow? What a sh*t show. So Groce knows either way but can't say anything. This would be worse than Cliff and the hat. If it was someone other than Illinois it would be public by now I'm pretty sure. Not worried. -

It sounds like Kansas is in on Tilmon too. -

QUOTE (gatnom @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 07:58 PM) Sounds like Travis Ford might just recruit Groce into the unemployment line. Yup. Must have upped the offer late. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 08:49 PM) Worst state in the union and it's not debatable. Why are Cubans so pro Trump as opposed to other Hispanics? Many Cubans refuse to vote Democrat after the Bay of Pigs. That's what I've heard in the past, anyway.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 30, 2016 -> 11:01 PM) Says the guy that thinks defense in the nba was better in 1993 than it is today? lol. Trick. Says the guy that thinks Michael f***ing Jordan world be "some guy" in 10 years.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 30, 2016 -> 10:49 PM) I knew this would happen. Game 6 momentum? Cubs. Game 6 pitching advantage? Cubs. The beast that is Kyle Schwarber for 4+ PAs? Cubs. Game 7 is a happening. You're a joke.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 11:18 AM) Cubs got to Kershaw the 2nd time(on 3 days rest), not saying it's gonna happen but it certainly wouldn't shock me if the same thing happens with Kluber. When? Kershaw was on extra rest which was the problem.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 11:45 AM) Those are good points, probably why I don't really gamble anymore. A classic 12-10 Wrigley game in the World Series would be pretty funny though. Apparently Tomlin has been throwing more curveballs recently too (over 40% against the Jays) and the Cubs aren't very good against them. With that said, I'm still seriously considering taking Cubs - 2.5 +180
-
Can someone explain to me why Maddon didn't pinch hit for Schwarber? I think he got lucky that schwarber got the walk the first at bat. He's got a career OPS of 481 against lefties. And this is Andrew Miller.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 10:04 PM) I'm not sure if it's the Cubs hitters or Miller not being as sharp today, but he's been pretty hittable. He hasn't been sharp at all.
-
QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 09:11 PM) ^^ Kluber should go 8 or 9 if hes this dominant. No reason to show your hand early with Miller / Cody They plan on pitching Kluber in games 4 and a possible 7. Limiting his pitches was the plan all along I'm pretty sure.
-
QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 01:59 PM) The Bears will get crushed, because the Vikings are really good, and the Bears are one of the worst teams in the league with or without Cutler, but we pretty much know what (or who) the media will be talking about next week. Fortunately, one more half a season, and we'll be done with this. Vikings are only 5 point favorites, surprisingly. I think the vikings should win easily too.
-
It's it just me, or does Aaron Rodgers kind of suck.
-
QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 14, 2016 -> 10:26 AM) No I would assume game three. Yesterday he was due for a bullpen session and only threw 7 pitches in game. He even said after the game that he'd be good to go for game 2 if need be. It might be game 3, but I wouldn't if I was roberts. Game 2, 5, and then out of the pen for 7 seems ideal.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 12, 2016 -> 10:20 AM) Yeah that is the difference between having Hoyer and Cutler behind center. Cutler has the tools to finish drives, Hoyer doesn't. Yup. This is why guys like McCown and Hoyer are career backups while Jay is a starter and would start for other teams. This is 100% correct.
