  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 24, 2016 -> 09:26 AM) Not really, her brother shot her. If she was cleaning the gun, then it would be Darwinism. Sad, either way A passenger in your moving vehicle on the highway is taking apart a loaded weapon. I think it still applies.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 24, 2016 -> 08:08 AM) https://www.yahoo.com/news/iowa-woman-dies-...-191034607.html This one bothered me more for some reason... Darwinism...
  3. I'm rooting for Seattle. Let Felix see the playoffs at least once. Him and Sale are going down similar paths, although no chance Sale signs a monster deal with the Sox.
  4. I've drafted DeAngelo around the 10th round each of the last two years and it has been awesome for the first few weeks. But yeah, as soon as Bell comes back, Williams has zero value, that's how the Steelers roll.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 02:55 PM) Sounds like it's not torn thou. Damnit, stop squashing my dreams!
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 01:40 PM) Lets see what new Quarterback the Patriots can win with next week. LittleHurt05
  7. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 09:38 PM) there's no way in hell this concert has more than 47k people in the park. The field seating won't compensate. Ac/D.C. Was sold out at wrigley last year and the official attendance was 29k(park holds 41k for baseball. ) I went to a Wrigley concert a few years ago and if I remember right, they didn't sell any bleacher seats because you couldn't see the stage at all. If they are selling every available seat for this show, they would easily have way more than the concerts at Wrigley.
  8. If anybody is looking for a catcher, Steve Clevenger is soon to be available and he could probably be had on the very very cheap.
  9. Despite what happened in the NLCS last year, I'd have to imagine the Cubs are rooting for the Mets to survive the 3-team wild card battle royale. Syndergaard is the only available ace and he's hurt, then they have Colon and Sergio Lugo. Anything can happen in the playoffs, but there would seem to be a major advantage there. Jay Bruce has a .536 OPS as a Met.
  10. QUOTE (SpankyEaton @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 06:44 AM) I'm taking a chance and am starting the Miami defense over the Jets and Giants. Thoughts? Seems like a no brainer to me, Cody Kessler is starting for Cleveland. Rolling with them in both of my leagues.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 10:02 PM) f***ing Patriots. For once in my life just stop being so damn good Belichick is a genius. But still a pretty piss poor performance from the Texans
  12. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 06:51 PM) Anybody else starting Gronk tonight? I had ASJ then picked up Tamme this week but yeah, I started Gronk. How could you not? It's Gronkowski
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 06:16 PM) I'm not smart enough to know who will project out to be the best pro QB (they may all stink), I just hope we find and take the right guy. I've learned to not even try to project college QBs. It feels like the one position where performance on the field in college means nothing at the next level.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) Ask them if they'd take Jay Cutler in a trade. I never said they would or that Cutler is better. My point is that many of those QBs above him on the list don't seem to put their teams much closer to a Super Bowl either until you get to the very top of the list. If the Bears had one of the two Matts right now, my opinion of the future wouldn't feel much different.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 02:22 PM) So going through the QB's in football: Newton, Roethlisberger, Brady, Brees, Luck, Rodgers, Rivers, Manning, Romo, Wilson, and Flacco are better than Cutler. I'd take Winston, Wentz, Bortles, Carr, Mariota, and Bridgewater over him too. That puts him around 18 which is about right I think. I don't think guys like Dalton, Smith, Ryan, and Stafford are better than Cutler is but others probably disagree. He is what he is. That's two different discussions though. I'd rather have those guys because they are young. I don't know if any of them are better than Cutler right now. Especially not Bridgewater in a hospital bed. (Too soon?) QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) Last Year in 13 games Andy Dalton threw for 3200 yards with 28 total touchdowns and 7 Ints, 2 fumbles. Last year in 15 games, in Jay Cutlers best regarded year as a Bear, he threw for 3600 yards, 22 total Tds, 11 interceptions and 5 fumbles lost Alex Smith, 16 games 3500 yards, 22 total TDs, 7 ints, 0 fumbles lost. Matt Ryan has taken a beating, but even last year as everyone decided he's not very good, he threw for 4,600 yards, 21 touchdowns and 16 ints, with 5 fumbles lost (12 fumbles!). Stafford in 16 games threw for 4,200 yards, 32 touchdowns, 13 INTs and 2 fumbles Everyone pretty much does see more attempts per game, which would account for the gross yardage almost always being in favor of other QBs, but it may also be that they are trusted with a more passing offense and don't kill drives as often. If you put those QBs ahead of him (which I would), he is in the bottom 10 in the league. Flacco is the one QB I would say is most often like Jay Cutler. The thing is though, I bet most Bengals, Lions, and Falcons fans have zero faith in those guys now anyway. They might be better than Cutler, but they are the stuck in the same blob of QBs that are just meh.
  16. Like the tourney or not, that overtime between Sweden and the kids was epic.
  17. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 10:33 PM) kinda amusing tweet but I wouldnt classify this tournament as important really. I had zero interest in the WCOH, especially with football season starting up. No one get hurt and I'll see hockey come the beginning of October. I wonder how well the ratings are doing for ESPN so far and going forward now that the US is eliminated. I was in Montreal this weekend with some friends, we were out at a bar Saturday night during Canada's first real game against the Czechs. Granted we were in the touristy downtown area, but there was like zero interest in the game. I thought there would be at least some kind of fun atmosphere but there was nothing, nobody seemed to really care.
  18. Phil Kessel @PKessel81 Just sitting around the house tonight w my dog. Felt like I should be doing something important, but couldn't put my finger on it.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 01:20 PM) I've been thinking about this. All these bad decisions by police are leading up to something major. The police need to cut this s*** out. Incident after incident is just asking for some kind of revolutionary violent protest, the likes of which we've probably never seen. There needs to be a national symposium with Obama demanding all police forces (yes every single police force in the USA) send representatives of all ethnic groups and get them together NOW. Hold it at a racetrack that seats 150,000 or more people. If we're talking 350,000 people then have two sessions or something. And who exactly will police the rest of the nation when every police officer is at this symposium? Or do we just hope that nobody notices all the police are gone today?
  20. Uh oh. Rich Campbell ‏@Rich_Campbell 3m3 minutes ago Bears ILB Danny Trevathan sprained a thumb. It will require surgery. Not season-ending. Rich Campbell ‏@Rich_Campbell 3m3 minutes ago Fox: Bears QB Jay Cutler sprained his right thumb.
  21. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 11:42 AM) Which of those arguments do you disagree with? People should still go to every game and give that family more money for a poor product? People should continue to pretend like Ditka and the 85 Bears were the recent past? They shouldn't blow the entire franchise up and start from square one? I mean, to some extent they are on this road already, I realize that. I'm saying pick up the pace and really blow it up. There's no reason to have Jeffrey on the roster. It's a valuable chip. Get something for him before it's too late. This isn't baseball where you can trade players for prospects. No one is gonna give you a valuable young player. You can get a draft pick for him, but there's no guarantee at all he's a better player than Jeffery. And with all the moves they have made, there is plenty of cash to sign him to a longer deal.
  22. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 11:33 AM) Meathead Bears fans. The same ones that continue to praise a team from 30 years ago as if they're still relevant and give the McCaskey's money week after week to watch one of the worst run franchises in the league. What? Meathead Bears fans are the ones who hate Cutler more than anything else because he doesn't get mad or yell.
  23. Good news America, the Bears are back in prime time next weekend!
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 19, 2016 -> 09:51 PM) We better get a top QB next draft. Keep losing. Not sure how I feel about DeShaun Watson as a pro. Who else is out there?
