  1. Bears got away with a big pass interference there
  2. After one half, I gotta say Wentz looks like a NFL quarterback.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 19, 2016 -> 08:11 PM) Guy can make any throw. Best QB we've ever had and it ain't close. He is so disliked in this town but the guy has put up with so much s*** on and off the field yet just keeps going out there and busting his ass. Yet people think he doesn't care because of body language.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 19, 2016 -> 07:29 PM) Sean McDonough Hum. He's got quite the resume but I just don't recognize the voice. Great start for the Bears, ugh.
  5. I think Kirk Ferentz deserves another year added to that contract extension.

    Bombing in NYC

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 19, 2016 -> 10:52 AM) He was found because someone saw a man sleeping in a hallway of a local business and called the cops. Seems like a move of someone that wanted to be caught. Or he's just an amateur with no friends, family, or network to turn to.
  7. At least Legia had the coolest tifo on MatchDay 1. And the most pepper sprayed stewards.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 02:04 PM) I just hope we get rid of Lawrie. Saladino is ready. Your hatred for Lawrie rivals your hatred of Alex Rios and Hillary Clinton.
  9. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 11:01 PM) Wait, didn't Simeon kinda suck tonight? Holy f***, calm down NBC. Ha, you must have watched the Harrison and Dungy post game comments.
  10. This game is everything that is awesome and awful with the NFL. Major drama, incredible athletes, awful penalties, constant head injuries. AMERICA!
  11. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Sep 7, 2016 -> 12:55 PM) I think CONCACAF qualifying is tougher than people think. The culture/facilities shock in a lot of those countries is an adjustment for the US and Europe-based players to make, and oftentimes with passionate (or even hostile) crowds. Is it tougher than CONMEBOL? Nope. But it's not a cakewalk. I always say the same thing about the road games, so I don't necessarily disagree. Costa Rica's field is concrete and many of those stadiums are very sub-par and crazy atmospheres. But you only have to finish 3rd in the HEX and three teams are ranked 80th or lower. That's the biggest factor, whereas Europe has similar groups of 6, but you have to finish 1st to qualify, and 2nd only gets you a playoff berth. Some of the road games may be tougher in some ways, but in the end, it's a much easier road.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 7, 2016 -> 01:58 PM) Wow his buyout is insane. I love that his future years become fully guaranteed everytime he wins 7 games in a season.
  13. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 6, 2016 -> 11:14 PM) CONMEBOL is crazy. 4.5 spots up for grabs Uruguay 16 Brazil 15 Argentina 15 Colombia 13 Ecuador 13 Paraguay 12 Chile 11 THE US has it so easy, lol. UEFA has a group with France, Sweden, Netherlands. One qualifies, one probably earns the right to face another good team in a playoff, 3rd place goes home.
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 7, 2016 -> 10:07 AM) Me and some buddies combine to do a pretty high money survivor pool every year. We have to pick 2 teams a week. Seattle is our lock, the 2nd one is being debated like crazy. I'm leaning GB but not confident in that at all. Any thoughts? It's a tough slate for sure. I would say the Chiefs, but the divisional matchup and Rivers' familiarity with them worries me. I think Green Bay and Jacksonville could be a shootout that comes down to the last score. It sounds crazy, but right now I'd be leaning towards Arizona. It seems crazy to pick against New England. Garoppolo may end up being good, but he's not gonna go off debuting on a Sunday night in the desert.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 7, 2016 -> 09:16 AM) What's weird is the Cubs usually only feature 1 or 2 guys they actually drafted. The Cubs have 40.7 WAR, only second to the Red Sox 44.3 WAR, but that includes Josh Donaldson, Rich Hill, DJ LeMahieu, and Wellington Castillo. If you only count players currently playing for the Cubs, they have 12.7 WAR from players they drafted, or 31% of their total.
  16. Pulisic is gonna be a monster in CONCACAF. Victory tonight sets up Mexico in November in Columbus. Sweet.
  17. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 6, 2016 -> 04:41 PM) Holy s*** is this sad: the Bears have made the playoffs only 5 times AD (After Ditka). 5 times in 24 seasons (1992). It will soon be 25. The late 90s were just dreadful. Then after the Super Bowl with Lovie, they were just right on the cusp of the playoffs year after year but rarely good enough. From 2007-2013, they went 60-52 but only made the playoffs once in 7 seasons.
  18. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Sep 6, 2016 -> 11:30 AM) Newspapers today reporting Sox are considering shutting Shields down for the rest of the season. Supposedly because of a back issue. That certainly could be a part of it as is the possibility that if they keep pitching him he could lose 20 games this year. Mark That's a bummer. Shields losing 20 games is one of the few things left to root for this season. Keep throwing him out there.
  19. 3 guarantees in life: Death, taxes, and Kirk Ferentz @ Iowa. Is Jerry Reinsdorf the AD in Iowa City? They gave him a raise and an extension through 2026.
  20. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 6, 2016 -> 10:39 AM) Not even the average fan. People like David Haugh ( the lead columnist in the #1 newspaper in the 3rd largest market in the country), Laurence Holmes (670 the score host), others on Bears beat, and Michael Wilbon (national boob and blowhard) questioned the decision making process. It's all mind numbingly insane. Gould was bad. They didn't bring in competition because they didn't love the options. They liked Connor Barth better. He became available. They released Gould, saved money, and signed a different kicker that they were familiar with for less $$. The whole thing is really quite unbelievable. How quickly people forget this game: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxs...chi.htm#all_pbp And this game the very next week: (granted it was a 50 yarder) http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxs...chi.htm#all_pbp
  21. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Sep 6, 2016 -> 08:06 AM) I'm going to be in Chicago in October, and my daughter is dying to go to anHawks game. Of course, it has to be opening game. I was thinking about getting SRO tickets so I can take my son, too, but I've never done SRO. Anybody have any feedback for me? What's the SRO experience like? Where do you stand? Can you see? Do you spend the entire game moving out of people's way? I've never bought SRO tickets, but I can tell you what I have observed. You stand directly behind the last row of the 300 level. Once you claim a spot, I think you just have it the whole game. Some spots are better to see than others, might be tough depending on how old/tall your kids are. They open the gates 90 minutes before puck drop and people immediately run upstairs and claim the best spots.
  22. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 6, 2016 -> 12:23 AM) Somebody should check what Brian Dozier is taking nowadays. He's been possessed since the all star break. Did his young son just arrive from Cuba for the first time too?
  23. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 4, 2016 -> 09:54 PM) No bearing Bears have no cap issues. Thanks. Just seems weird they cut Gould now and not a few days ago if the cap hit doesn't really matter
  24. I hope they play ten overtimes. College football can be so ugly at times but goddamn is it fun.
