QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 09:08 PM) Who the hell wants to stay out late in Detroit? I get that literally anywhere has a better nightlife than Green Bay but.... Detroit..... They were in Windsor, duh.

QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 07:32 AM) That was Layne Staley. No, I was thinking about Weiland. His name was mentioned with hardcore drugs so often, I just figured he had been dead for a while. Quite the run he had.

It's funny how Theo just keeps getting the old gang back together. Lackey may suddenly start pitching like an old man, but can't hate on the deal at all, especially with only a 2 year commitment.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 09:54 AM) NBC News @NBCNews 6m6 minutes ago BREAKING: Female shooter in San Bernardino attack pledged allegiance to ISIS leader: Sources http://nbcnews.to/1XFUcfw This answers some of your questions So will the world now stand in support of San Bernardino like they did with Paris? Or will they just keep pointing and laughing at the stupid American and their gun laws?

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 09:02 AM) Next 4 games are vs. the NFC North. They will be 10-2 in a month and no one will remember this two game stretch. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 11:03 AM) Meh, Minnesota's not very good, don't be fooled by their record. Either way, two games vs. DET and one vs. CHI should help cure their ills easily. Those were some excellent predictions about the Packers right there

Given the results, it was a pretty "soft" target. He was already very familiar with it, so he didn't have to do much recon of the building, they managed to go in and out and escape for a while. The fact that he worked there maybe added a little personal touch to it. While it may not fit the popular ISIS narrative, it still will lead to the same result with the public if he is found to have been converted after his trip to the Middle East.

Like I said in the T-Flo thread, I really like Navarro's bat, I just hope the offensive upgrade is worth the defensive downgrade.

White Sox decline to tender Tyler Flowers and Jacob Turner

Wow, I did not see that coming. I like Navarro's bat but is the upgrade worth a potential defensive downgrade? Or am I wrong about his defensive abilities vs. Flowers? -
A workplace mass shooting by a Muslim? It's like Christmas for the cable news channels.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 06:36 PM) Can also offer opt-out clauses after years 4, 5, and 6 as well. We'd get lucky and we wouldn't have to pay for his later years (not that he would even be that old on let's say an 8 year deal). You gotta remember though, if he opts out , that means he is more than earning his contract and can find a better deal. If he is injured or under achieving, no way he opts out. The opt out is an advantage for the player, not the team

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) We are one of the few big programs that flat out doesnt have much home court advantage. I want some of that good home cooking. It's as quiet and cavernous as a NBA arena, I saw Illinois clinch a Big Ten title there back in college. Wow, that was 11 years ago. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 30, 2015 -> 05:19 PM) Honestly I think the league has just made it impossible to officiate. They could increase training or incentives but until they simplify their rule book stupid stuff is going to happen. It feels like holding or pass interference can be called on every single pass play with all the new rules. It's so hard to even play pass defense anymore, and the automatic first down or spot foul penalty can alter an entire game

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 12:42 PM) I wonder if you took a poll of random Sox fans at any given home game, how many of them would even know who Nancy Faust is? 15%? 20% maybe? How many of them would even know what an organ is?

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Nov 30, 2015 -> 09:54 AM) USC names Helton their permanent head coach. What a joke this football program has become Uninspiring hire sure, but he seems to understand that you just let the players play, which the two previous coaches were too "smart" to realize. It's USC, he won't have a problem recruiting. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 30, 2015 -> 09:11 AM) Oklahoma is 100% in. Probably in even if ND won but the ND loss sealed it. PAC-12 champ has at least 2 losses and no 1-loss non-champion is getting in over Oklahoma. Iowa-MSU winner is 100% in. Alabama is in if they win. If they lose Ohio State is in. Most interesting case is if Clemson loses. Ohio State might be able to make a case over North Carolina, even without the conference championship. The committee has shown little respect for Carolina, so I agree they might not even jump Ohio State. I think a two loss Pac 12 champion Stanford has a chance to pass OSU, if one of the top two stumble this weekend. -
Signing Zimmerman to a 5 year deal, instead of the expected 7 years is pretty big. The Tigers should probably stop throwing large contracts around, but it's not really a bad deal on paper.

For all the madness, the final four teams might be easy to figure out. Oklahoma is probably in MSU/Iowa winner is in for sure Clemson and Alabama are in if they win But if Florida or UNC pull the upset, I have no idea who they would pick. Well Florida has no chance, but I could see the Tar Heels winning -
What a f***ing game that was. I still don't think the Patriots will lose in Foxboro but good to see they are beatable.

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 25, 2015 -> 10:26 AM) Just have him face righties with Flowers facing lefties/Sale personal catcher. I co-sign this idea. Hopefully the Sox see it the same way
