AJ and Flowers? HA HA Atlanta -
A bit expensive, but who isn't. Seems like a solid signing, Zobrist was made for the National League

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:13 PM) What is Marty injury? I think it's from when TJ Ward cracked him in the ribs in the Broncos game

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 07:50 AM) Congratulations! Second kid definitely changes things. You are going from a double-team to a man defense. Lord help you if you go over two and have to move to a zone. Kid #2 can't even roll over yet and it's already such a game changer. Never realized how easy it actually was to just have one kid.

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 09:17 PM) Cowboys will have a closer next year You got a laugh out of me.

Jon Heyman @JonHeymanCBS 2m2 minutes ago Chapman deal is agreed to with dodgers. 2 prospects to reds. (not seager, urias or deleon). Pending medicals
-
Jeff Passan @JeffPassan 47m47 minutes ago How exorbitant is the price on Jose Fernandez? Sources say the Marlins have asked the Dodgers for Julio Urias and Corey Seager. Dodgers said no -- can't imagine Seager going anywhere for anyone -- but the sides have continued talking about plenty, including Fernandez.

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 07:57 AM) ok i just thought it was a typo. I didn't watch, but it looks like the 3rd line got way less playing time than the other 3 lines. Kero had a similar amount of minutes, Shaw had more but that's because of his time on the PP.

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 05:54 AM) question, according to the recap, i only saw bickell with 8 min playing.... was that correct or what??? Numbers don't lie...

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 12:19 PM) MSU hasn't impressed me all year, I think Bama wins by 10. If Conor Cook is healthy, I think they have a chance if they can make some big plays in the passing game. But I don't see them having a chance trying to beat Bama with this new smash mouth football they have had to play. I have no f***ing idea about Clemson/Oklahoma right now. I'm still kind of shocked one of those two will be in the NC game. -
What is the estimated contract for him? 6/120? More or less?
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 08:24 PM) All I know is that it is not fair to him or the fans to have a future Hall of Fame talent (if he keeps this up), surrounded by a heaping pile of garbage except for a few guys. Hahn needs to get his s*** together and surround his stars with better complimentary players. Felix Hernandez agrees

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 04:32 PM) Without Greinke maybe they are thinking about going the Royals route of having an unhittable pen that shortens games. Not a bad strategy today, but they better make sure Jansen is on board. Some closers don't take well to demotions, especially when not performance related.

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 05:46 PM) The worst thing about Bears games is that they're silent. I'm not sure who to blame; building the stadium as the smallest in the NFL with an open concept at the top wasn't too intelligent in terms of making noise then keeping it in. However, I've been to plenty in the last few years. Everyone is talking to one another, taking photos and buying beer. People wear red and yellow jackets and s*** that isn't Bears apparel or at least their colors. During big moments nobody is yelling or clapping. The "4th phase" stuff is s***. There's been a handful of moments when I thought "wow, it's loud in here" like before Rodgers' GW TD in 2013 or Jennings' pick 6 against Newton a few years back, but for the vast majority of the time, there is very little noise to give them a homefield advantage. I've seen games in Atlanta, Carolina, Seattle, Indy, Green Bay, St Louis, Tennessee, Detroit and Chicago and Chicago is by far the worst in terms of noise. I dare you to name a stadium louder when the offense has the ball than Soldier Field. We were waving our arms down to get people to shut up before Robbie shanked the game winner. There is definitely a major party like, let's get drunk as hell atmosphere at Bears games, although I bet many NFL games are similar. Part of the reason my wife and I still enjoy going is the amazing people watching. That being said, it will never be Seattle, but it doesn't help that the Bears suck and they have for a while and it just seems like people don't give a s*** anymore. Fans still show up because Da Bears but there is lots of indifference.

Early candidate for worst contract of the year. Giving a closer that type of deal is crazy, you give it to a middle reliever?

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 10:57 PM) I don't think so. The difference was last year OSU was a 1 loss team just like TCU/Baylor and the Big 12 had two teams tie for their championship. It would be pretty absurd to put a 2 loss Pac 10 team in when the Pac 10 was pretty much garbage all year this year. Yeah, and Oklahoma has a top 25 non conference win. Just hoping for some drama! Who would have figured Northwestern would play a prominent role in the CFP on Opening Day. Had Stanford beat them, it would be a legit discussion with one team missing out. -

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 10:45 PM) I hate MSU but what a legendary drive. Ever since Cook got hurt, they have had quite the transformation into smash mouth football. It ain't pretty, but it works. So any chance Stanford passes Oklahoma after what the committee did last year? -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 09:38 PM) I was screaming for Sox to trade EVERYBODY including Shark, Robertson, LaRoche (ha), Melky, in a do-over from the offseason. I wanted Shark dealt well before the deadline. We were led to believe he wasn't going to bring ANYTHING of note. Then why the heck did the Giants pay top dollar for him?? Shark wasn't dealt because KW still wanted to go for it and because of the potential draft pick. Nobody ever said anything about no value. -
QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 11:26 AM) It just occurred to me that LSU might have the first overall pick in both the NFL and NBA draft. That Simmons kid is looking ridiculous. So did Utah. Has another college done it since the Utes?

In that park and division, he will do fine. The only question is could the Giants have gotten similar production for a cheaper pricem -

Hmmmm... Elliotte FriedmanVerified account @FriedgeHNIC Tikhonov (CHI) is on waivers today. That's a bit of a surprise. Mark Lazerus @MarkLazerus 28m28 minutes ago Viktor Tikhonov being on waivers could mean Bryan Bickell's return is imminent. That's enough money to fit him under the cap. #Blackhawks
