  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 25, 2015 -> 04:27 PM) LMAO. I am one person who has never bought into the Theo hype, but he isn't trading Baez. Theo would carry Baez piggy back all the way down Halsted to 35th if he could trade him straight up for Quintana.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 25, 2015 -> 09:44 AM) They have people on ESPN predicting the Final 4 and a lady this morning had both MSU and OSU in it. Is that even possible? I'm expecting OSU to run the table and roll over the overrated SPartans. Would MSU sneak in with 1 loss over other teams? It seemed very feasible back when we thought Oregon was good. Now, not so much.
  3. Heads up, 3 on 3 hockey about to commence at the UC. Winner gets the Cup!
  4. Get ready for the "Upset Alert" with 6.5 point underdog Utah losing to USC
  5. As far as permits go, every town is different. You are probably better off just asking to not have any future problems if you sell. Plus , you are not in money sucking Chicagoland so they are probably not as bad. I've complained enough but our addition project is finally almost done, only about 7 months late. The house is great, despite all the headaches we went through. Biggest thing I learned was don't make any assumptions with contractors, ask about everything
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 24, 2015 -> 07:22 PM) Do you guys agree the Score dumping the Sox is really bad for the Sox? I think in the long run it will have zero effect on the Sox. Maybe a few less dollars in their pocket, but in the end irrelevant.
  7. Since when is gray an official Illini color? Awful looking jerseys and helmets.
  8. I definitely prefer the Mets, but my Royals hate has dissipated from last year. I watched nearly all of the first two rounds of the playoffs this year, but don't plan on watching this much. Not a very interesting matchup to me, sure I'll just stay in the loop on Twitter.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 24, 2015 -> 12:55 PM) Don Cherry went on a Twitter rant said the Jays were hosed by MLB and it was rigged because they didn't want a Canadian team in the World Series. Cuz a team from Kansas City is a better option? Who cares? NY is already there and they got that market. And a game 7 winner take all would be awful for ratings, right? Cherry is just pissed because hes become irrelevant in Canada too
  10. If this rain delay takes too long, the Royals may not be able to bring Davis back. And Gibbons just said he might bring game 7 starter Stroman in.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 23, 2015 -> 09:47 PM) Blue Jays need to score on Madson ASAP before Davis comes in and shuts em down Bam, Joey Bats! I know Madson has been good this year, but I would only trust Herrera and Davis in the 8th/9th. No bat flip, disappointing.
  12. Blue Jays need to score on Madson ASAP before Davis comes in and shuts em down
  13. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Oct 23, 2015 -> 09:30 PM) What two Russians? Only Panarin has that clause. Anisimov is an established pro & Tikhonov has done nothing to make me care if he goes to Rockford, Russia or the UC's press box. Dano hasn't exactly been good in Rockford. If he keeps that up he won't be up this year at all. I thought Tikhonov & Panarin both had the clause, but maybe just Panarin. I'm not saying Tikhonov has been good, but it makes sense why the organization might give him more time at the NHL level instead of Dano right now, even if Dano might contribute more.
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Oct 23, 2015 -> 07:05 PM) It'll help when Dano returns. I keep thinking he might have suffered a concussion but there's not even a hint that happened. I hope not given that they have let him play all 6 games for Rockford. Two simple reasons why they sent him down 1. He's not even 21 yet (just like Teuvo last year) 2. His contract makes it easy to send him down with little consequence unlike other players. I think the two Russians can opt out for the KHL if the Hawks tried to send them to Rockford.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 23, 2015 -> 02:36 PM) You are right. Posey beats out Salvy on production with .318, 19, 95. Amazing stats. .379 OBP. Who's better than Perez in the AL? Stephen Vogt, Brian McCann, Russell Martin were all better on offense than Perez in the AL
  16. Yeah, I stopped reading after that title, that's just silly JR.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 03:28 PM) I'd say by all means trade Eaton. Any way we can acquire Tulo? He'd be a difference maker. We need some stars. You can't complain about overpaid stars and bloated contracts, then demand to trade fur Tulo. It's one or the other
  18. More shocking event in Chicago, Jaromir Jagr scores a goal or Bartolo Colon wins a LCS clincher? It's like I'm a teenager again. Solid win today. The D men are still scary but the top two lines came to play. Kaner is a great match for the Russians and one of these days 19 and 81 will find a line mate to score a goal with, but they are playing well
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 06:53 PM) One rumor that he might have showed up on drugs and then was immediately cut and then came back. No idea whether it is valid and it has not been picked up by any major publication, rather pure message board fodder. . The Tribune article said he showed up "not in a condition to work", which sounds very Sarkisian esque.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 09:02 AM) Mattingly and Dodgers mutually part ways. Interested to see the Dodgers with a capable manager
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 09:27 AM) If Eaton was really someone they didn't want around, he would have played a lot less in Sept. That wasn't the case. I disagree, because that would have ruined his trade value. Who wants this guy we benched all of September?
  22. QUOTE (shysocks @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 09:12 AM) That's exactly his point. The very worst pitchers don't end up qualifying. Samardzija put up a stinker of a year, but he was also 11th in innings pitched, which has value because it means you're not turning the ball over to the Kyle Ryan's of the world instead. Also, since nobody's narrowed it to just starting pitchers and most relievers are just failed starters, I'll suggest that there are dozens of relief pitchers who would have fared worse than Samardzija if you had tried to stretch them out and given them 30 starts. To be fair, if Samardzija's name was Kyle Ryan and had the same salary, he wouldn't have finished 11th in innings pitched. Part of the reason he pitched so much was simply based on reputation and the cost to acquire/play him.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 06:37 AM) http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-leag...-051931204.html Cubs end their season on a classy note...of course, it wouldn't have gotten a mention had the White Sox done the exact same thing Oh come on, this is just ridiculous. It wasn't a sub .500 team getting their own story, it was the loser of the NLCS. If the Sox ever make the final four again, I'm sure there will be plenty of extra fluff articles about them, just like there are now about the large market popular KC Royals or the one team in Canada.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 08:24 AM) Trust me, I agree that he should be untouchable. However, Eaton already rubbed one team the wrong way and then there were the issues with his stubbornness in the field this season. I'll take the talented uncoachable player over the untalented coachable player every day of the week.
