Sox vs Tigers Game 1, 12:08 first pitch
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 21, 2015 -> 02:22 PM) When was our last less than 90 pitch CGSO? According to baseball reference, it's only happened two other times since 1914. I don't have an account, so I don't know who those two were.

QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 21, 2015 -> 12:15 PM) If they both make it to their match up undefeated, it will be quite a game. Stewart Mandel on Fox Sports has them both making the playoffs and facing each other in the semifinal in the 1 vs. 4 matchup.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2015 -> 09:52 PM) Sounds like Yadi might have a serious injury. Given his awful at bats, not so sure it's as devastating as people will suggest What? He's the best defensive catcher in the game, they need him, especially given the pitching struggles.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 20, 2015 -> 10:01 PM) Fuller was fantastic for the first half of last season, then he completely faded. Yeah I was hoping he just got tired. Not so much anymore. If Clausen starts Sunday, would anyone take Bears +21? Especially if Seattle loses again tonight?

How many of last off-seasons "big" moves would the Sox make
The problem with hindsight is that they are all connected in regards to competing in 2015. Melky doesn't got signed without Samardzija or Robertson and vice versa. So it's hard to just question one transaction. Samardzija was the biggest surprise, there weren't any major warning signs for him to perform this bad. Robertson was fine. (Although unnecessary ) LaRoche is old, so can't be surprised he performed so badly Melky should have been better, but the whole steroids thing

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Sep 19, 2015 -> 10:44 PM) Pat Haden has to go. He continues to hire these SC retreads who "might" be a good coach some day but they're not. Sarkisian is now 11-5 in 2 years and has lost to 3 unranked teams. Take it seriously, idiots. I married into a USC family about 7 years ago and not a year passes without a WTF loss. All the talent, but always a disappointment somewhere.

If Kyle Fuller is really as bad as everyone says, then the Bears are even more f***ed than we thought. He was the one defensive bright spot last year, but maybe that was all because of Peanut. Yet another wasted high draft pick.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 10:03 AM) Don't get me wrong, it should be a fun year, but I just don't see them going back to back after all of the changes. Those things take a while to work out in hockey. They should be a top team and all. They also just got done playing 3 months ago. I know Duncan Keith is a cyborg, but some of your most important players are gonna have some tired legs. That's why it's so hard to repeat.

Levine: Ozzie deserves to manage again
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 02:30 PM) It's pretty risky to go to a Sox game nowadays. For instance two of the three games where I had free tickets but turned 'em down to Sox vs. KC in KC the Sox were the normal, boring, horrific, embarrasing White Sox. However, the third time woulda been the charm. That was the Friday game in which the Sox won something like 10-1 or 12-1. But if you have to pay, you just can't go to a White Sox game. They are not worth the hard-earned money to risk on a shutout or error fest or Shark implosion. Now if you love the ballpark food and ballpark atmosphere and just have to see a big league game, that's a different story. It's just a message board. Nobody's 'living' in the past or even present on the message board, just spending leisure time and commenting. It's not that big a deal. Going to a 49ers game in the opposing team's jersey is risky. There is nothing risky attending a White Sox game. It's a game.

Given how the Blackhawks PR machine works, I'd still be shocked if he attended training camp. No reason to deal with the media craziness right now, the playoffs are over half a year away still.

Alexei Ramirez pitching
QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 07:11 AM) Having leury pitch is one thing... What if alexei seriously hurt his arm yesterday? Reminds me of Toby hall playing 1b in a spring training game. Then you decline his option next year? I might have an issue with Avisail or Abreu pitching, but not Alexei at this point. And I do realize that the Toby Hall injury cost the White Sox multiple WS titles, or at least one would think so if they read Soxtalk
