QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 11:03 AM) Arrieta went from failed prospect to one of the best pitchers in baseball. I'm wondering how he's throwing 96 when he was averaging 92-93 in Baltimore to start his ML career. Steroids!!! That explains it all!

One thing to keep in mind is that it's MUCH easier to take a moral stand when you have already won 3 Stanley Cups. I'm not saying the Hawks would trade Kane, but it's more of a possibility because they already have this 7-year run to show for his time here.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 09:32 AM) http://deadspin.com/yankees-yell-at-carlos...dium=socialflow I don't see anything wrong with what Gomez did. Even though the game was out of hand, mad at himself for missing a pitch, when he has been struggling since going to the Astros. Yet, the Yankees going after him to act professional which I disagree with. Also, the slide by Gomez looked fine to be as well, just over slid it. Thoughts? Shockingly Brian McCann didn't play last night, he's always been the most "professional " with that stuff. How about you stop throwing Chris Capuano out there and maybe you won't give up 15 runs?

Chris Tannehill/Score trying to make Harrelson look bad...?

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 07:59 AM) Lol at anyone who thinks hawk would retire quietly without the parading around and ceremonies. He deserves them anyways. Yeah, this is very, very true. -
Wow, I didn't realize the Twins had a four game sweep in Baltimore. Right back in the race.

QUOTE (WBWSF @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 06:22 PM) Don Orsillo the TV announcer is leaving the Red Sox job after this season. Is he leaving to come to Chicago to be the White Sox TV announcer in 2016? On the White Sox last road trip to KC, I was told the Royals announcers were saying that this is the last year for the Hawk with the White Sox. I don't know anything about Don Orsillo. QUOTE (woods of ypres @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 06:48 PM) I've heard rumour (not from a great source, but he does work in tv for the red Sox) that the Sox offered Orsillo the job for next year yesturday. So if what the royals chaps said is true, we may hear something soon. Please don't get our hopes up like that! -
Bill Maher: God/Organized Religion, yes or no

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 05:01 PM) I also find it funny that being "religious" these days automatically means Christianity. ISIS is very religious and also believe in a God. -
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 02:27 PM) Daniel: That brings up the age old argument which I don't have an answer for. Would you rather win one title or have the chance to win one (no guarantees) by consistently making the playoffs, like say the Twins in the 00's? Guess it depends on your point of view. Mark I would rather win one title, but I would say that the guy who consistently made the playoffs was better at his job.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 10:39 AM) http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2553631...paign=editorial this anonymous head coach should put his name on this article. Doesn't it seem like the NFL is #1 in "anonymous" sources in cases like this?

Most hated player in White Sox history
LittleHurt05 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 06:59 AM) This needs to be said again. Understood, but the players that "bust" become hated because of their performance on the field. It may not be completely fair, but it is what it is. -

While we are at it, you also shouldn't lump together God and organized religion. There are people out there that might believe in a God, but don't agree with the concept of organized religion. -

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 07:25 PM) I doubt it. No it's definitely true about AJP, surveys have been done. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/da...-hated-player/1 -
Indians tie it up off Lester in the 9th, all but guaranteeing a Rizzo or Bryant walkoff here off Zach McAllister

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 12:54 PM) I was quite surprised Bears didn't sign him or show more interest (given all their injuries at WR). They might have shown interest, but I doubt it was mutual, I bet he'd rather retire than play for these Bears.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 12:36 PM) Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 27m27 minutes ago Reggie Wayne and New England Patriots have reached agreement on a one-year deal, league source told ESPN. Does he have anything like in the tank or is Belichick just trolling the Colts again?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 12:12 PM) Throwing Matt Harvey into the mix as well, who goes #1 would be interesting. And out of that bunch, who had Chris Sale as the only to NOT suffer a major injury. Wow. Harvey might not even be the top Met, Noah Syndergaard is in that draft too. I don't think he has suffered an injury yet. -
They are going to end up putting nets up. The question is will they do it on their own or will a fan's death force the issue? The NHL was forced to put up safety nets after a teenage girl was killed by a puck.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2015 -> 01:54 PM) Bryant is a superstar at home and a below-level replacement player on the road. Like I said yesterday, with the wind blowing out as hard as it is, this lineup is impossible to shut down. You gotta use the wind to out slug them which the Tigers did, but the Braves have no chance with this ugly lineup .

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Aug 22, 2015 -> 01:11 AM) It's really going to suck if a team gets a wildcard spot with 83 wins, that'd be such a huge missed opportunity. With this rotation? Absolutely. I feel like the Sox are a team that could easily win the World Series, but they aren't good enough to make the playoffs. If that makes sense.
