QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 5, 2013 -> 10:58 AM) Locker is playing the Jags while Foles has a much tougher matchup. I'd actually go Locker. QUOTE (cws0591 @ Nov 6, 2013 -> 10:22 PM) Locker for reasons already stated. Thanks guys. negative points rule! -
Trestman has been this great this year, but he gets s lot of blame for today's loss. Between a few of the play calls and leaving Cutler on there too long, I put today on him.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 10, 2013 -> 04:00 PM) Theoretically, sure. I just think Bama is that good. Besides, for our Mizzou purposes and slim remaining national title hopes (we need scenarios plural to play out) Alabama needs to be undefeated going into the SEC title game. Bama is that good but a road rivalry game vs a 9-1 team? That's prime for an upset. -

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 9, 2013 -> 02:22 PM) Ball State wants 'Bama, and 'Bama wants Ball State! lol, awesome. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-sat...791--ncaaf.html That would be cool if Ball State was actually undefeated, but too bad the tough Mean Green of North Texas were on their schedule. -
I wonder if Cardenas would think differently if he was actually good at baseball.

I'd rather just keep Dunn. It's the last year on his contract so it doesn't hurt any future rebuilding plans.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 9, 2013 -> 10:29 PM) It is really hard to see Alabama or FSU losing with their remaining schedules. I don't see FSU losing, but the Iron Bowl could be a battle. -

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Nov 9, 2013 -> 09:44 PM) They admit that they are playing more loose under Orgeron. It just seems like Kiffin was too strict and with all of the losing, he became too uptight. Last week in Corvallis, the players were acting like they used to under Carroll. A lot of dancing on the sidelines, a lot of borderline taunting. Like it's fun again. That sideline dancing definitely showed a difference in players excitement. The FOX pregame show made a good point. Under Kiffin, the sanctions were constantly brought up as an excuse. They aren't any more, the swagger of being USC is back, no matter how many scholarships are lost. -
Merkin attempts positive Beckham article

Since the catch-all was martyred, guess I will add this here. Beckham got married tonight, so Slayer is officially gone. Usually seems to have a negative effect on players, but we shall see. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 9, 2013 -> 08:40 PM) They're also playing better because they've played some pretty awful teams. There's no doubt Kiffin sucked though. Heismanpundit.com, who has a lot of connections to USC, states daily that there's no chance Orgeron gets the USC job. They did lose 10-7 to Wazzu at home under Kiffin, so these wins are a major improvement. I don't think he gets the job either, but the players seem to be thriving under him. -

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Nov 9, 2013 -> 07:40 PM) A couple things: 1) I bet Winston prior to the year to win the Heisman at 75 to 1, and seeing as if how my brother loves FSU, he talked me into betting $100. I'm praying that he can win it. 2) I love the way USC has been playing under Orgeron. If they, OSU and Arizona run the table, USC will host the Pac-12 title game. Very unrealistic, but that's not the case if Kiffin is still coaching these guys. I wonder if Haden will seriously consider keeping Orgeron after the year. At the worst, I hope the new coach lets him stay on. 3) I bet the over in this Alabama game. JC Copeland's fumble is going to come back to bite me in the a**, I think. It will be intriguing to see what happens with the coaching search. It's such a high profile job, you can't just hand it to Orgeron. And the question is, are they playing better because the new coach is doing do well or because the old coach was that much of a cancer. It's not a roster devoid of talent. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 9, 2013 -> 10:33 AM) The dude won a conference title in his first year at freaken' Kansas State, their first one in 36 years. I would wait more than one game to jump to conclusions. And at Illinois he made the title game in his second year, then proceeded to win two more tourney games in the next seven seasons, missing the tourney 3 times. I've seen this movie before. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 04:24 PM) Wish BTN app was on Apple TV so I could see the ceremony before the Michigan game. Watch ESPN app is though, so I can check Illinois out tonight. The Illini game is on Watch ESPN? Thanks! -
QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 02:49 PM) You realize if your policy was canceled you can still get other policies right? The whole use of the word "canceled" has been very questionable. My policy was "canceled" but I was offered a similar one for slightly more money, or a cheaper one with some less benefits. Either way, Blue Cross is still keeping me around. The word "canceled" makes it seem like those people are booted for good.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 11:52 AM) Utah is 1-4 in conference play. Washington, Wazzu, Cal, USC, Utah and Colorado are not good. Arizona has beaten nobody. Its an easy game to play for each conference. I'd take UW & Kiffin-less SC over the bottom 9 of the Big Ten anyday. Those are the two conferences I mostly watch and overall the level of play doesn't compare IMO. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 11:42 AM) The best conference in the country has 5-6 teams that would qualify as not good. Duke has a chance to be in the ACC title game. The leader in the Pac lost to a 4-4 terrible Utah team. Everyone has "warts." The Big ten is by no means a great conference, but there are 3 legit teams in there including a team that has a 21 game winning streak and MSU with the best defense in the country. It's not "horrible" like everyone wants to believe. I count 3-4 teams. Colorado, Wazzu, & Cal. I think Utah is better than you give them credit for, but I guess they still aren't good. That's still 8 teams that are good, far better than in the Big Ten. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 11:26 AM) When OSU beats Alabama in the NC, then the Big10 will still be bad because Iowa isnt good? What type of logic is that. Its like saying that Alabama isnt good because Arkansas would be the worst team in the Big10. Just does not compute. No, the Big10 will still be bad because Iowa, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, Penn State, Northwestern, Nebraska, Minnesota, & Michigan aren't good. The best team in the country can come from a bad conference. -
Who willl win the Boras/Jay-Z agent war?
LittleHurt05 replied to caulfield12's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 11:01 AM) Right, Boras used to be the most famous agent on the block. Now hes not. Thats exactly what we are talking about. Finally you recognize the problem for Boras. In Jay Zs first move as an agent, he took a Boras client who stood to make Boras's company a lot of money. It should be extremely troubling for Boras that Jay was able to get such a big name on his first go around. Especially as it wasnt a Ricky Williams where he had no previous agent. Cano had Boras, already had a lot of money and decided that Jay would be better. Jay Z can sell a dream that Boras cant. Exactly. Boras can't neogtiate $200 million contracts without the best players. -

QUOTE (Boogua @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 11:02 AM) The B1G is awful and they haven't played anybody. That's pretty much the reason. Similar to when Boise couldn't get love in the BCS even though they would start the season off with a big OOC win (like UGA, Va tech, or Oregon). Is the B1G stronger than the MWC? Probably, but it still looks like one of the weakest power conferences. And it doesn't help that OSU's one BCS out of conference opponent turned out to be the worst team in the Pac-12. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 10:34 AM) Except you left out that Agent B holds records for the biggest contracts in MLB history. True, but I was more referring to the outside of baseball stuff. When it comes to baseball contracts Boras is #1 and teams are way more desperate so being an asshole has its major benefits.
