QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 08:59 PM) I WAS ONLY TALKING ABOUT PLAYOFF PERFORMANCE!!!! ONCE AGAIN, NOT SAYING HE'S BETTER THAN THOSE PLAYERS....HAYYYS We are talking about a 22 year old rookie, are we not? Who has never played in the MLB playoffs before? If I remember correctly, many superstars like Bonds and Frank Thomas and A-Rod have struggled mightily in the playoffs (in their entire 20's) and were WAY under anything Puig has accomplished already. 20 year old Miguel Cabrera had nearly an .800 OPS in the '03 playoffs, and that was brought down by a bad WS. Had a .633 SLG% and a 1.027 OPS in the NLCS against some team, I can't remember which one it was.

QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 11:13 PM) They don't really come to watch baseball though. They come to get drunk, go hang out in wrigleyville and watch baseball. So I don't think they are better fans in any way. They just have a more attractive non-baseball experience overall when attending a game. Like Sox Park is any different with everyone tailgating and drinking? They just get in their cars and leave after instead of roaming the neighborhood If you watch the two crowds Sox fans are in no way louder or more into the game. At a Sox/Tigers game late last year, the fans couldn't even be bothered to stand up and cheer at big moments with the division at stake -
QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 07:50 PM) We've seen this Peavy before against the Tigers in a big game True that. I think I would have been annoyed had he shut them down wearing a different Sox jersey.

Jake "The Bulldog" Peavy on evaluating pitchers

QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 07:40 PM) For example, and it's the first one I see. In comparing two starters on Colorado with similar stats, Chacin (31 starts) goes 14-10 with a 3.47 and 1.26 WHiP DeLaRose (30 starts) goes 16-6 with a 3.49 and 1.38 WHiP Why? Luck? Who would you pitch in a must win game? Better stats or better W-L? Again, as I said earlier, W-L may be the least valuable stat on the back of a baseball card, but I don't think it should be totally dismissed. De La Rosa if the game is at Coors Field, Chacin if it's anywhere else. The splits speak for themselves. -
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 16, 2013 -> 01:07 PM) I wonder if Peavy is getting shelled tonight. If not, I want some of his White Sox salary returned! Austin Jackson dropped to 8th in the lineup. Hunter leading off, Miggy hitting second

Stop trying to make Cardinals hatred happen. It's not going to happen.

The b****ing about officiating is only gonna get worse now, as hard as that is to imagine. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 09:39 PM) I think last year (where he went under .500, but pitched really well) really convinced him that W-L is bulls***. But he probably knew that beforehand. In 2008 he went 10-11 with a 2.85 ERA. I imagine that Padres offense didn't always provide the best run support. -

Did that really just happen? Oh my. Poor Panama. I'm sure New Zealand isn't exactly thrilled about the last second change of opponent. At the least, I hope the Mexican fans stop throwing urine at the US players as a thank you. -

1-0 Panama. 1-0 Costa Rica Just need to hold these scores for 65 more minutes. -
Hawks win! Sharp's wife needs to have more babies. I guess if you were gonna give away a point, it might as well be against an Eastern team. Would be nice to send STL a message Thursday night with a W.

QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 10:40 AM) I'm now 3-3 in the heroes league. Second in points, trailing by just 8. My points against would be good for third most points scored in the league, most points against. In my other league, I'm now 5-1 with those most points. 3rd most points against, though. I need to quit drawing these tough matchups It may be time to fire your defensive coordinator. Not caring their weight on that side of the ball. -
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 12:15 PM) Talk about the way back machine...I was at U of I when they lost, and I remember writing the best away message in the history of away messages, just ripping the Cubs and all the bandwagon, dbag fans around campus for the past couple weeks. Seriously, 50%-60% of people going to class were wearing some sort of blue. Sororities ordered t-shirts. Bars had playoff logo glasses ordered. It was the worst thing ever. My away message was the biggest, best "f*** off" ever. I wish I still had it. I wish I could say you were over exaggerating, but you are totallly not. It really was that bad down there, suddenly everyone was the biggest Cubs fan ever. I actually toughed it out and watched game 7 at Legends with a couple Cubs fan friends. That ended up being very entertaining. (And I was wearing a White Sox shirt )

I understand the TV aspect, but how much does it suck for working fans to have LCS games on weekday afternoons?

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 01:28 PM) Watching that game on tv was amazing. It was ridiculous. Back then in college we didn't have nice flat-screen TVs or any HD channels, so you can't imagine how much worse it was. -

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 07:27 PM) It also doesn't help when the PA announcer at Busch Stadium refers to the Cardinals having the best fans in baseball at least twice every game I have been too. I have been to my fair share of White Sox games and I don't hear our announcer saying that before the game. They post it on the Jumbotron!

Not the best start to the return of Khabi.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 03:26 PM) How many Cardinal fans have you actually heard say that? All of them on my Facebook feed say that
