  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 11:14 AM) Fred Jackson intentionally dropped a pass on the last drive yesterday because it would have taken up too much time. How many other RBs are that smart? Paging Marion Barber...
  2. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 10:47 AM) I'd go with DVR It's nice to rewind and watch a play over again, but I don't have the ability to watch a game after it's already happened. I need to know the outcome right away.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 11:01 AM) I'm not worried about the turnovers. Our offense looks competent, even when it is unsuccessful. Our three and outs look better than our offense has looked in years. I can't say whether it's going to be a great offense, but it doesn't suck. Very encouraging. Our D looked vulnerable yesterday at times against a bad offense, so let's hope that gets shored up. No D-line presence whatsoever. This is the #1 concern right now IMO
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 09:32 AM) Just to throw it out there, wonder if Gordon's thrown in the towel completely on the year. It's not like the guys around him are trying hard, why should he? Because his 2014 salary depends on it?
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 15, 2013 -> 09:35 PM) Seahawks defense is very impressive. I fear for the Jaguars offense next week.
  6. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 08:36 AM) Great game for Brandon Meriweather. Tried to kill Eddie Lacy and then proceeded to knock himself out about 5 minutes later. One of my least favorite Bears of all time
  7. Twitter is the greatest thing to ever happen to sports fandom. Every update at your fingertips as soon as it happens.
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 01:13 AM) And you're too stupid to see he made up his mind ten minutes ago. That line was just incredible. And my wife and I just lost it during the baby scene, wow.
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 15, 2013 -> 08:14 PM) Outscored 90-39 in the 12 game losing streak to the Indians. Good. f*** the Royals
  10. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 15, 2013 -> 08:23 PM) I wouldnt mind a lightning stoppage in the next Bucs game. As long as that lightning stoppage results in the cancellation of the game because the lightning bolt hit Schiano. don't let Peter King here that. They are both from New Jersey
  11. Ugly, ugly win but there are no style points with the tiebreaker. Needed this win.
  12. What's the difference between Lasik and Lasix?
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 15, 2013 -> 11:22 AM) It was pretty stupid, however with competent officiating its not an issue. With competent coaching, it doesn't happen either.
  14. Kneeling the ball, then spiking it to set up a field goal is one of the dumbest decisions I have ever seen. So much more can and will go wrong. Good start for the new coach.
  15. QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 15, 2013 -> 05:07 AM) I see most people are taking the easy way out by blaming the refs in the Wisconsin game, but the umpire who failed to be assertive in getting the ball is only a fraction of the problem. To me, it starts with the idiotic decision to center the ball with 18 seconds left. It's a 30-yard FG. If your kicker (who is a righty that would be kicking from the right hash) can't make a 30-yard FG because it's on a hash he's not worth his scholarship. The risk/reward of centering it doesn't justify doing it. Your kicker should be a 90+% pick to make either kick. That's no reward. The risk is what we saw. s*** happens in college football regarding clock management. Centering it there was like taking a heavy favorite on the money line for a dollar to win 5 cents. What's the point. Four things went wrong for Wisky on that play. 1. The stupid decision as I explained. 2. The QB placing the ball down instead of handing the ball to a ref, failing to rush his team to set or the spike and arguing with the ref. 3. The ASU DL falling on the ball. 4. The ref failing to do anything about it. The chain reaction was started by Wisconsin. As far as I'm concerned, that failure was on Wisconsin, pun intended. Badgers got what they deserved. Agreed. Wisconsin has no one to blame but themselves.
  16. Sounds like I didn't miss much by saving $60 and not watching the fight.
  17. Just an absolute beautiful forecast for a football game. f***
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 14, 2013 -> 09:11 PM) New o-coordinator trying to make chicken dinner out of chicken s*** and not doing a terrible job of it Yeah, they actually look like a football team when they have the ball. May a conference win actually be in Illinois's future???
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 14, 2013 -> 09:15 PM) Sox are losing 8-1? Hope the fans are booing them out of the stadium tonight. Wonder if Robin will pat the boys on the back and give them participation trophies after the game/season. He's done such a good job with this team. Why would anybody boo today? The season was over 3 months ago, who cares?
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 14, 2013 -> 09:11 PM) Last 11 vs Cleveland. No wins. Outscored 83-38. That makes me happy, keep Cleveland in front of those damn Royals.
  21. QUOTE (Lillian @ Sep 14, 2013 -> 09:04 PM) I didn't even realize that the Reds had moved him to CF. Isn't that the explanation for his defensive struggles? He was a decent RF for the Indians. I agree that he would probably be just fine back in RF. I think he would be a great option for the Sox as a lead off hitter, with that very high OBP, even though he does have some pop. The biggest concern with him is that he is 31 and someone may offer him a 6-year deal or something similar. I'd be kind of worried about giving him that long of a deal. I have always been a big fan of him though.
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 10:41 PM) There are over 100 division 1 football games. Being in the top 10% is really good. Akron must be really good too
  23. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 09:15 PM) How's everyone feel about Saltalamacchia as a potential signing next year? Is there a reason why the Red Sox won't resign him?
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 10:25 PM) I respect your support of Dunn. We all have our favorite players. ... I've just seen way too much of him. If he's still on the team I can't see renewing my mlb.com. I just know what kind of offensive team we are going to have if he's still around. We already have too many guys who swing from their heels. Maybe if we get a real hitting coach and real manager (no offense, Robin, I loved you as a player) I'll give Dunn another chance, but ugh. Haven't most of you seen enough of Big Adam to last 3 lifetimes? In 2005, the lineup from 3 to 9 swung from their heels too. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as the players hit.
  25. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 09:18 PM) To tell you the truth, I'd rather see any young guy (even if he's not ready) from our AA team take Dunn's at bats. I've just seen enough of Adam Dunn. I'm too lazy to look it up. How many home runs does he have the last 3 weeks? I could be mistaken I'm guessing 2-3 homers the past 3 weeks? I'm surprised nobody else is as upset as I am about that b.s. about his going the other way. I'd like to see a story now about how he hasn't gone the other way. Why has his philosophy changed since the last article? Uh, cause his philosophy never changed. Only five players in all of MLB have more homers than Dunn this year, but let's call out his last three weeks. Pedro Alvarez is basically putting up the exact same numbers for Pittsburgh, they seem to be doing OK
