  1. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 01:21 PM) The last two years I've done solo Vegas vacations, and I love it! I miss my wife and daughter, no doubt, but it is so great to not worry about anyone else's schedule or being ready or being tired (or if I get tired or want to cancel something). There are pluses and minuses to traveling solo, but for me there were more pluses. That sounds fun, although I don't think I could ever get the OK for that. Wife and I are going with some friends in September. Guys always talk about the NCAA tournament weekends, but I think weekends in September are way better. On Saturday you have 50-75 CFB games from 9 AM to 9 PM, then a NFL Sunday to bet on. The weather is usually warm enough to still hit up the pool, and you don't have to deal with all the meatheads on the March weekends.
  2. It seems like Rizzo hits an extreme amount of 400 foot foul balls down the RF line
  3. Most importantly, how does this affect the Portillos bet?
  4. Avi has a strained right thumb ligament, headed to the DL, per Merkin and Colleen Kane
  5. QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 12:40 PM) I cant believe training camp is already here. This summer has gone by so fast since half of it was rain. That first preseason game always sneaks up out of nowhere, two weeks from tomorrow already.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 26, 2017 -> 09:20 AM) Not surprised. If the Cubs didn't win last year, there's no way Q is on the Cubs now. I agree 100%.
  7. Tom‏ @Haudricourt 16m16 minutes ago More Stearns said Cordell has lower back injury and is expected to be on DL couple more weeks but after that be OK. Medicals were examined.
  8. I haven't seen this trade officially announced by either team yet? Maybe the prospects back injury and medicals are holding something up?
  9. It was nice to take a former AL Central player and turn him into a valuable asset for the Sox, that doesn't seem to go in their direction very often
  10. Two seasons of 2+ fWAR, doesn't that already make him a quality MLB starter?
  11. Rodon is the first pitcher in MLB history with 11 strikeouts in a start of 4 IP or less
  12. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 03:44 PM) I'm glad the Sox won their World Series when players still knew how to act like professionals. A.J. Pierzynski
  13. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 03:48 PM) I think he was referring to Edwards' screaming upon getting out of a jam in the sixth inning of a meaningless game. How is it meaningless for the Cubs?
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 01:53 PM) Yet another rally stymied by the no DH rule HAHA! Whoops! Way to go Carlos
  15. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 01:37 PM) It was a rocket down the 3rd base line that caromed off the wall and TA ended up the first guy to touch it. Thanks. I already figured out exactly where the Contreras hit went.
  16. Zobrist doubled to the SS Anderson? What happened there?
  17. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 01:29 PM) Let's be honest- Avi will never make the AS team again. With the rule that every team must be represented, never say never. Somebody in a Sox jersey will be invited in 2018.
  18. QUOTE (Yoda @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) Anyone know if the wind is blowing in again? We got 2 pitchers on the mound with an ERA that's up there and trying to guess what the score will be for today. I was way off yesterday. It appears to be a cross breeze, so minimal effect. Over under is 9
  19. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 12:34 PM) Man that has to be tough for the NFL to find out and sad for the sport in general. The NFL didn't "find out" anything from that report today, I'm sure they have known for a long time. It's tough for the NFL to have this info made public.
  20. QUOTE (soxfan18 @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 10:45 AM) Can blame them a little, though, because they concede home games to hold concerts. Good catch, I didn't even think about that. It's mentioned in the Sun-Times today, if you include the concerts, then they would match the league average in night games, which is their main sticking point. ON a side note, we still own a condo a few blocks away, some drunk dumbass after the Jimmy Buffet concert kicked out our ground level window. No attempt to steal anything, just being an idiot.
  21. Melky lf Abreu 1b Avi rf Davidson 3b Moncada 2b Anderson ss Narvaez c Engel cf Rodon p
  22. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 25, 2017 -> 09:43 AM) Dumbest thing in the world. It's not the Cubs, they are asking to have more and more night games, it's the "neighbors" of Wrigley. Their property values go up, but they don't want to deal with the other effects of a ballpark nearby.
