QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 12, 2017 -> 05:20 PM) I cannot stand the person I'm taking this quote from but I will still give him the credit as first person I saw it from. Donald Trump's entire plan for defeating ISIS was to call it out publicly. He cannot do so with this group because this is his base. This is the Republican base. Ignorance is bliss Balta.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 12, 2017 -> 12:12 PM) I went to like 4 or 5 Scott Schoeneweis starts in 2004. That was fun. 12 seasons, 5.01 ERA, over $20 million earned. I am gonna force my son to throw left handed

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 07:42 PM) Will go from 6 to 5 games. Is there even a precedence of NFL suspensions being reduced via appeal? I know it's standard in baseball, but don't remember it happening in football.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 10:22 PM) I really hate the Royals so I'd be fine with another sweep. We can start losing again afterwards. When it comes to the Royals, I don't care about draft position or progress from young players. Just sweep their asses. Especially those two corner infielders they have.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 02:14 PM) 404 file not found. Anyway, according to press, the league has "Photographic and digital" evidence in this case. They also state that he presented no evidence on his side. If that's the case, then the appeal could be considerably weaker than you folks are thinking. Weird, maybe the NFL took it down from their site. Here is the ESPN link, it's pretty detailed. http://www.espn.com/pdf/2017/0811/Ezekiel-...r_8-11-17_R.pdf

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 10:16 PM) It's preseason.its the first game.I don't care I'm hyped about Trubisky after watching that. I always says the preseason means nothing, but that felt like the funnest home game in 2-3 years once he came in.

Hahn on 670 the score now - 1140 am Central

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 03:49 PM) Basically all of those deals looked bad for the player almost immediately. Those were fantastic signings at the perfect tine. They were 3 of the more valuable assets in all of baseball last offseason for that reason. Other teams haven't had that success. If it wasn't for those contracts, the Sox would be pretty much royally f***ed right now. I don't remember the Sale signing looking bad for Chris at all. Given how worried everyone always has been about his arm falling off, it was a very wise move for him too. And Adam Eaton's looks pretty good on his end today, he just happens to be on a different team. -
Taking my daughter to the game night, severe t storm watch right on cue. Bringing back memories of the Ravens game about 5 years ago, that was epic.

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 12:29 PM) One of the primary reasons Sale, Q and Eaton brought back the returns they did was due to the contracts Hahn negotiated with them. The man deserves the praise he is receiving. Can we stop acting like Hahn invented the wheel with those contracts? The defending division champion who was one run from a WS title has more than 3 players signed to similar team friendly extensions. They were good deals on Hahn's part, but they're pretty common around baseball. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 07:02 AM) I honestly don't care that he said that. Trubisky would have been what, six or seven when MJ retired? He grew up in Ohio watching the greatest player of his generation, it totally makes sense he would pick Lebron He instantly wanted to take it back and asked if they could cut that out of the interview(which was live). Oh s***, I forgot I'm in Chicago! Edit that out! I don't care that he said it either, but it's the same as if he said "I smother my hot dogs in ketchup." There's certain things crazy Chicago people take way too seriously and you don't want to get on their bad side this early.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Aug 9, 2017 -> 11:50 AM) In his chat today Dave Cameron said that if the Yankees make the wildcard game they should start Chapman and have the bullpen pitch the whole game and save Severino for Game 1 of the ALDS. I'd love to see that happen. We are not far from that happening in a playoff game, just look at how Andrew Miller was used last year. Looking at the Astros rotation this week, Chris Devenski has to pitch 2+ innings in every playoff game it seems.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 9, 2017 -> 04:09 PM) Well this guy is f***ed. ChicagoSportsVerified account @ChicagoSports 2h2 hours ago A rookie mistake? Bears QB Mitch Trubisky picks LeBron over MJ as greatest of all time http://trib.in/2vPTV1G via @TeddyGreenstein Does his agent have any concept of public relations? You don't anger your meat head fan base before you even throw a pass.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 9, 2017 -> 01:25 PM) And at that point he was proven. That is the point. If you sign them before they do that, it is WAY cheaper than if you wait for them to prove themselves. That's assuming that they do prove themselves. Anderson has never been Lindor, so that $100 million number is far, far away. I get why the extensions are done and it won't affect the Sox financially much at all, but that doesn't justify giving them to anyone at anytime. Like DA Said, it' the largest extension given to anyone with such little service time. I think it's fair to question if they should have waited a little longer.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 9, 2017 -> 01:02 PM) That's why I don't care about prospects and why I get excited when a guy like Davidson actually shows promise on a big league diamond. I'm totally outnumbered though, as prospects and the mystery of the future are sexy. And even though a guy like Davidson had some incredible moments this season and was headed for 30 home runs before he got hurt, he's considered a bum because his advanced stats suck. No mention of the fact he might improve and be able to build on a 30 home run season. I truly hope you rebuild people are correct and our organization dominates the AL for years to come. When veteran players like Adam Dunn put up the exact same numbers, they are "bums".

QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 9, 2017 -> 12:52 PM) But there's also a reason someone like Anderson signed it. Same reason a guy like Jon Singleton signed a similar deal despite getting railroaded by his fellow players union.
