I have a free agent list here under Active Cuban Exile Players in World Baseball Leagues in 2009. http://cubanballplayers.blogspot.com/ I am sure many of these could play in the minors. The Majors probably not.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 10:57 AM) I got it. Thanks.

Actually, 6 seasons counting this one.

I go to full edit but it does not allow me to edit my title. I have tried before too.

The IOC left baseball out of the Olympics and has forced MLB to come to the table.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 03:19 PM) The giants have Anderson or Alderson and than Baumgauter. I'm sure I botched the spelling. I am not referring about other young players in this year AA. I am referring about this in your earlier post: "is hitting for more power than a lot of the big ML HR hitters today did when they were 20 and in the minors."

The only thing I am going to tell you is that in June so far my boy from Villa Clara has the following stats: AVE/OBP/SLG/OPS 328/365/483/848 with 4 BB and 7 K and 2 SB. Will we see him in the South side of Chicago in September? I say, yes we will if he keeps numbers like those.

QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 08:52 PM) Could anyone imagine Scott Boras trying to be the agent of the some of the up and coming Cuban propsects once they are cleared as Free Agents? Good Grief!!!!!!!!! Cubans usually end up with bad agents or people that are not agents after all. Cuban players are ignorant about how the system work and Cubans do not know much about the process of signing with an MLB team, agents, etc.

Miguel Cotto vs Joshua Clottey (WBO Welterweight Title)
Cubano replied to joejoesox's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I did not see the fight but African fighters usually do not have luck with the referees. Ike Quartey beat Oscar de la Hoya and he got robbed when they fought long time ago. -
QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 10:17 PM) The same President during the creation of the United Nation was the same President who authorized the only wartime deployment and use of atomic weapons. Would the Japanese surrender without a fight? Could the USA had sent lots of troops to fight Japan in addition to the the European front? How many American lives were saved by not fighting Japan with a conventional army? Droping an atomic bomb among civilians is truly horrible, but I am not sure what the USA could had done differently. Didn't the USA warn the Japanese about the atomic bomb?

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 07:59 PM) I didn't say anything about it being a mistake (although that is true, invading those countries because we don't like their governments would be a horrible mistake), but it's just something that's not going to happen. Even a Republican president with a Republican Congress wouldn't go that far. plus the UN was created in, what, 1947? Let me remind you that all these rogue states promote anti-USA policies around the world. In others words, they would destroy us if they could. We do not know what they do under the table for terrorists, etc.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 05:20 PM) Yeah, we're not gonna use our military to clean up domestic problems in other countries, sorry. Not even Iran and Venezuela. Has nothing to do whatsoever with Obama. That is what this country elected when helping create the U.N. and contribute most of the money for it. Based on your post, then it was a mistake entering WWI and WWII.

Aknowledged but I disagree with the below: "I will not post statements for the purpose of angering others." I can not control whether or not my comments will anger others. -
The Iranians were scared that the with the cowboy from Texas would drop a few bombs against the bad guys. Do not worry because the Israelis will take care of them at some point.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 05:26 PM) my main criticism. If he's to move so fast he needs to be more transparent. Stimulus funding hasn't been intelligible, it's merely been released. And him using state secrets. Presidents can do whatever nowadays with their only check being election. Their calculations are dubious. We will see all the fraud as a result of this heavy government intervention. Look at this guy. He is one of the responsible parties for the mortgage debacle. http://briefingroom.thehill.com/2009/06/04...er-ceo-meeting/

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 10:24 AM) On inflation, that's so far been a non-issue, and I think its likely to stay one. And what the heck are you talking about on the third point? Chavez in Venezuela nationalizing more companies and consolidating power without the fear of the great USA Mariners going after him. Our friends in North Korea acting like crazy. The Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad consolidating his powers behind the conservative leaders. The USA enemies understand Obama is weak. He won't send troops anywhere. He will stay in Iraq and Afghanistan because he has no choice. Though the USA can not keep financing wars with Chinese money. As for inflation, you ain't see nothing yet folks. You just saw an increase in oil. Even in the USA, the government does whatever it wants violating the laws. It amazes me how the Indiana or Ohio Pension funds and secure bond holders got screwed in favor of nonsecured and Union folks with the auto companies. I won't buy an USA car unless it is a Ford. Save your pennies now so you can pay your gas later. Do not blame Bush! If you have a problem, call Obama. Ha, ha, ha. Drill, baby drill. Now!

QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 11:41 PM) What's his fastball topping out at these days? 78 MPH? Ha, ha, ha. He can not compete with Livan Hernandez at 84 MPH.

Quentin "one bad step" from being lost for season

He has a history of injuries. Does not he? -
How many campaign promises have Obama broken or will brake? http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...id=auTTvgeN294Y Have he forgotten that we want change? This guys is getting a pass because the Republicans do not have anybody who can step up to the plate. When Dick" Cheney, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh are the spokepersons or the most visible voices within the party, Obama is getting a free pass. Be prepare for higher taxes. Be prepare for high inflation. Be prepare for more rogue states to make their move on USA. We do not need to spend more money from the stimulus package.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 02:38 PM) If Contreras puts up two more real good starts and we are still 5-7 games back, it is the time to trade him. You might actually be able to get something good for him to if he is dominant. I agree.

QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 12:36 AM) Where you at Cubano?? What's the story on these two? Iglesias was the 2B for the Cuban Junior team. He played SS for the current Cuban Champ Habana Cowboys. He had to play 2B because Santiago de Cuba Wasps prospect Adeiny Echevarria played SS. I think he can make it to the big leagues. Rey Ordonez made to the Mets despite being a bad hitter in Cuba. Iglesias hit more than Ordonez back home. Arguelles is tall and has long arms. He needed to gain 15 pounds since I last saw him in Cuba. I doubt the Sox have the money to sign him. My guess is that he sign with a big market club. I wish he does not sign with the Yanks but the $$$$ calls you got to do what you have to do.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 09:51 AM) Viciedo has gotten much better every month he's been here and is hitting for more power than a lot of the big ML HR hitters today did when they were 20 and in the minors. So while the stats may not show him crushing the ball, we must remember the tools he has and he has tremendous bat speed and more importantly massive power to all fields. Viciedo was suceptible to outside breaking pitches in Cuba too. I have a couple of videos about him. He should learn to layoff from those pitches. Can you name some of these players you are refrring to on this post? Thanks,
