  1. Come on Brett, you're the only guy who can hit Weaver.
  2. Melky didn't swing at a single strike in that AB.
  3. Everyone is trying to pull that curve ball. Just go with it...
  4. Danks might actually give us 5 good innings today.
  5. That wasn't even a terrible pitch. Cron just has good pop.
  6. Hey Danks, stop throwing fastballs in on Giovitella.
  7. I can't believe Adam took a 3-1 fastball down the middle and then swung at a junk curve on 3-2. Come on.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 02:08 PM) Weaver changes speeds like a boss, always has Yeah, it's a huge reason why he was nearly a Cy Young award winner when he lived in the upper 80s with his fastball. But he doesn't have a whole lot of change in speed now since he's barely throwing 82.
  9. Need a better approach the second time around. Come on...
  10. We're way ahead of all of these slow curveballs. Do we not have a scouting report on Weaver?
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 02:00 PM) Both Eaton and Jackson read that wrong off of the bat. Both guys went back before they came in. It's Mike Trout. Somewhat understandable.
  12. In this game: two struggling offenses make two terrible pitchers look adequate.
  13. Danks is painful to watch right now...
  14. Jesus Christ that was bad. How did Abreu not punish those 82 MPH fastballs up in the zone?
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 01:30 PM) They are leaving only the 1B on the right side of the IF to pitch to Abreu. Abreu isn't even strictly a pull hitter. He's pretty good about going oppo.
  16. QUOTE (South Sider @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 01:27 PM) That first Weaver curveball clocked at 65 mph... He's got the velocity of a high school pitcher...a mediocre one at that too.
  17. Need to get to Weaver early.
  18. Danks clearly doesn't trust his stuff right now. He's nibbling and trying to hit the corners, but the control is off.
  19. Weaver's throwing an 81 MPH fastball. Even Buehrle threw the ball faster than that last year. If you're not a knuckleballer, throwing 81 in the big leagues will get you crushed just about every start. If the Sox don't score a decent amount off Weaver today, then the offense is in worse shape than I thought. Gotta be able to tag a pitcher like this.
  20. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 04:46 PM) Hit Weaver hard tomorrow, dude is dunzo I feel like any of our hitters who have been behind on the fastball should have a field day tomorrow. Same could be said for the Angels though haha Edit: nevermind...Weaver's barely averaging 80 MPH on his fastball this year. I'm not sure how he's still pitching in the Majors.
  21. Please sign Norman
  22. Jerry Sands should not play 1B anymore. Especially not in close games like this. DH him or play him in the OF if you're down to your 5th OFer.
