AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
I don't want to jinx it, but the timely hitting we've seen so far is reminiscent of 2005.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
I didn't watch the whole game, but it seemed like Chris almost pitched to contact tonight. Not a ton of deep counts so he was able to keep his pitches down.

Oh man, Sale was starting to lose his stuff and control towards the end. I almost had a heart attack on the Guyer fly ball.

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 11:19 AM) I don't think so. Marcus Semien's glove is atrocious, Phegley is a backup catcher, we'll see about Ravelo. I'm forgetting the other player. Chris Bassitt though.

I noticed Latos threw a lot more cutters yesterday. More than all other types of fastballs combined actually. I wonder if Coop is telling him to throw it more. Given his low velocity right now, it's probably better to throw something with more movement on it.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 10:36 AM) Odorizzi is 0-1 with a +8 ERA against the Sox in his career. Shell him, break him, destroy him. Only one start though. SSS

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 03:22 PM) I remember on MLBN talking about his bat flips. But on a grounder? Lol I'm pretty sure he thought that was a hit. I did.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 03:13 PM) He loves to bat flip Dude hit 53 homers last year in Korea, I'm sure he's had his fair share of bat flips.

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) How about Mat Latos?! Wow. He has been GOOD thus far. Keep it up, buddy!!!!! Good ol smoke and mirrors show so far. He did get the fastball up to around 92 today, so that's really encouraging.

I don't think we could have asked for a better start. Only one poor start out of 9 so far. Offense has been doing just enough. What a great first week and a half.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 03:00 PM) Or Sands. The problem with him is that his defense absolutely bites. That could be an issue in a high-leverage situation, like the 9th inning We should probably put Jackson in for defense

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 02:59 PM) If they bring a lefty for Shuck, we should counter with Austin Jackson It only makes sense...

Latos had the off-speed stuff working real well that inning.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 01:34 PM) They gona pitch around Jose again? Frazier's gotta start getting hits to drop if Jose wants to get good pitches to hit.

Latos starting to get hit a bit harder the second time around. Mauer, Sano, and Park all put good swings on the ball that inning.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 01:23 PM) Agree with that decision by RV. I do not like pulling the IF in early. Have some faith in the offense to put another few on the board. I agree with that as well. Better to let them have the run that will most likely score anyways than allow a base runner on a seeing eye single through a short infield.

Latos actually hit 92 out of the stretch.
